Great hotel in the heart of Budapest. Great hotel in the heart of Budapest. My experience was let Down by a couple of things though;
• Air condition did not work in the room, but we where just to tired to change rooms.
• Even though 4pm checkout was arranged, housekeeping was knocking on the door in the early morning ruining my sleep. Doesn’t housekeeping have access to this information?
• Door key did not work after noon.
• Housekeeping came knocking again at two even with the do not disturb sign up..
• At checkout there was no “How was your stay greeting…”

We stayed here for a babymoon in mid 2010 and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were in an Executive Room, which was spacious and comfortable, with a luxurious bathroom. The only negative of the stay was the bed, which was harder than we'd hoped. But we'd likely stay here again. The location within Budapest is hard to beat.

We had a very nice 2 night stay at LE Meridian Budapest. The hotel is in a great, very central location with sites, restaurants and lots of activities nearby. We were lucky enough to get upgraded to a junior suite so had a big room while we were there. The bed and bedding were VERY comfortable. Breakfast was nicely done, staff were helpful and friendly. Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel if you're visiting Budapest.

During my stay I enjoyed especially in the evenings having fantastic local wines and listening to nice music in the bar. Staff for very friendly and informative. They gave me useful tips for restaurants nearby with excellent cuisine. Perfect location to have a nice walk in the historic city.

My favourite hotel in Budapest, and one of the best overall. Staff is very kind, the room thoroughly clean, position exceptional and I would not need more for a business stay. I never been to the spa and pool, and will probably do so one of the next times when visiting privately.

The staff at this hotel are simply awful. There is absolutely no understanding of customer service and no recognition of SPG status. This places needs a complete overhaul, both in design and staff. The breakfast is a complete waste of money and the food is simply subpar. I absolutely do not recommend this place whatsoever.

Undoubtly this is one of the better hotels we have stayed in. Great location and the rooms are just georgeous especially the suites. If one is going to budapest this hotel would be top of the list!!

It's always a pleasure to arrive at a hotel and feel welcome - just like coming home.
This time was just another example of arriving and feeling well. The Hotel is still with the best in Budapest!

My wife and I loved the hotel with great location and service. I would have given a perfect score except for one encounter we had with one individual (Mr. Nagy) at the recpetion desk. He was quite unhelpfull by responding negatively and without taking any initiative to rsolve the issue. However, when I checked with another individual the following day, the issue was resolved immediatley due to the second gentleman's initiative and positive and professional attitude. Breakfast selection and quality was excellent; The dinner quality was good with attentive service.

Excellent room. Less than an hour from the airport.

I have stayed in this hotel many times. The staff are friendly and approachable.
The recent lobby upgrade is very nice. I am disappointed that the rooms have not been improved yet. I stayed in room 419, there was a leaky tap and there was a leak from the shower seal to the bath. The bathrobe was also of poor quality. It used to be much better.
I don't find the restaurant very appealing and I went to the Kempinski for dinner and I was impressed by the bistro there. Overall, it is a good hotel but a bit tired looking at the moment.

To start, hotel was excellent! Location and staff were superb. Wasn't crazy about the food, which could easily be explained by the cultural differences in food. Definitely would recommend the hotel to anybody visiting Budapest. A great surprise was when I took a taxi from hotel to downtown and made a mistake with the currency. I gave him 20,000 forints instead of 2,000. When I went to check out, the concierge, Norbert Bocsek, said he had something for me and handed me an envelope with my 18,000 forints in change! What a pleasant surprise since we always hear such negative things about taxi drivers! I ran into him again later that day and made sure to reward him for his honesty and courtesy. One thing I will point out is that I was very surprised that I could not get a Crown Royal Manhattan here, had to go to Four Seasons for that! I would say that on my four stop trip, this was the most pleasurable experience!

I'm writing this as I'm sitting in the hotel room - our stay has been so fantastic that I wanted to make sure to write a stellar review as soon as possible.
I am a platinum member, and I booked two hotel rooms for a stay during our family vacation.
Although we arrived pretty early in the morning (we had just flown in from Texas), we were able to check-in without too much of a delay. We were upgraded to the most fantastic rooms - my room has four balconies overlooking the square. It is the most amazing view. I think we are in a junior suite, which is the perfect size for my little brother and I.
My parents were upgraded to a huge suite, with 2 bathrooms (my mother keeps going on-and-on about how wonderful it is to have her own bathroom). They don't have as nice of a view (I think their view is of the shopping street), but the room itself is spacious and fantastic.
We were given a lovely welcome gift of a Budapest pictures from 1900 and today, as well as free breakfast coupons (I choose the local gift for one room, and the breakfast for the other).
About 30 minutes after we checked in, we were trying to rally to do some sight-seeing, but were so tired from just flying in from Texas. We got a knock on our door, and - surprise - we had chocolates! These were sent to not only our room, but also to my parent's room!
Side note (I hope the hotel is reading this) - the girl who checked us in was so sweet! She gave us such a warm welcome to this country.
I have to compliment everything about this hotel, and highly recommend that everyone else decide to stay here.

We enjoyed our stay at the LeMeridien Budapest. The location is perfect and the staff was professional, friendly and always available to help! We find the experience at a hotel is the foundation for a good trip or not. It was our first time in Budapest and we fell in love with it!
The staff at the hotel made us feel comfortable and welcome. The restaurant team in the mornings were great!
Keep up the great work, we hope to one day return.

I took some vacation time while on a business trip to Europe and decided to make a stop in Budapest. Naturally I searched for Starwood properties and saw the Le Meridien. The pictures look gorgeous, but I promise you do not do the place justice.
1) location: we could walk to everything as it is right in the city center. I explored fashion street, Budapest spring festival, and close to the hop on tour bus. The location is truly unmatched
2) Service: I've loved a lot of Starwood locations, but the service here was spectacular. Regina and Kristian (I'm spelling it a bit wrong I think) were great. So patient and kind.
3) Hotel: I used points for a basic room and was upgraded almost 2 weeks before my arrival to a business suite. They even accommodated my your 24 request so I didn't have to check out until 7:30pm. There were customized welcome letters, a fruit basket, and local Hungarian treats with descriptions waiting in the room. They also gave me maps and multiple tour options. I was absolutely in love with all the art and the architecture at the hotel. The attention to detail was spectacular! It was just beautiful.
4) Restaurant: I am now in love with Hungarian food, but ate breakfast at the hotel. The breakfast had an omelet station, waffles, over 20 kinds of bread, fruit, etc. it was delicious and the best part was being able to use my platinum gift for the breakfast.
5) Fitness center: Although this was pretty basic, the pool was cool. I forgot my headphones and they have headphones with iPod nanos to borrow while you run which was nice.
I just felt so special at the hotel. Every single person was warm and very professional. They were committed to service and helpful. Budapest is a beautiful and amazing city, and this hotel was definitely one of the highlights for me.

The hotel is very well located, easy to go anywhere in town. The rooms are according to expectation, clean, service is very good. Restaurant is good as well, just I feel bad because they could open the restaurant for the public on the back and would get more customers.
The whirlpool was being fixed, but was also below average comparing to other Le Méridien. The gym was really small not not well equipped at all comparing to hotels of the same level. Did not have elliptical, a basic equipment nowadays for hotels of this level.
