First day the front desk was very helpful, but after check-in they ignored all requests and didn't lift a finger to help. Restaurant food was overpriced and at best mediocre. Drinks were overpriced, and bartenders were stingy with the alcohol. Room was fair, but smelled like an old shoe. Location was not friendly to walking anywhere, so eating/drinking/other services required getting a taxi.
Specific issues I encountered, when trying to use the printers in the "business center", which were out of ink, I asked the front desk to print off something for me (they had at least two working printers behind the desk) the attendant told me he wasn't sure if that was allowed, then ignored me for the next 20 minutes. Finally walked down the street to a competitor's hotel chain, walked in and asked if we could use their print facilities and was assisted 100% and without fee.
Also, if traveling on orders and you fall into a special "group rate" category, SPG will not give you any points for all the money you spent in their hotel… except for the overpriced food and beverage!!!

i had numerous telephone calls to ask if everything was to my expecteations and the staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful, public areas very grand and well equipped. Rooms large, and comfortable, the gym was well furnished and maintained.
The rooms we clean, tidy and very comfortable indeed, the double bed was fantastic and i had three very quiet nights sleep.
I did have a slight problem with the water on arrival not been as warm as it could be, but the staff quickly managed the problem and rectified the issue
I used the club lounge on the 8th Floor and the staff in the lounge were helpful, professional and curtious at all times.
I throughly enjoyed my time at this hotel; and i will certainly look to return in due course to visit and explore Amman in more detail.
Room Tip: I stayed on the 8th Floor and in suite 832.

Just completed three glorious days at Le Meridien in Amman. Everything was perfect - great service and hospitality, a perfect room, excellent food and a great location. This is one of the best hotels in the mid-east. You get 5-star quality for a very reasonable price. And if you are an SPG Gold member, you are treated as royalty. You will not be disappointed.

The staff at this hotel is nothing short of remarkable. Each and every one of them go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and happy while at the hotel. I will stay there again and again

This was our first visit to Jordan and thought Amman would be a good place to start our holiday. I am a loyal Starwood member and love all your hotels.
I will commend the staff at the hotel for making me feel welcome and attending to our needs, especially at the Royal Club Lounge.
Unfortunately, I was rather disappointed by Le Meridien Amman. It's a great hotel with beautiful public spaces and good service but the rooms leave little to desire. Rooms are dated, bathrooms and closets smell. Beds are okay when staying on the Royal Club Floors.
I'm a Gold Member and agreed with other reviewer that there was not much recognition/acknowledgement when it comes to service and amenities as a Gold Member except for a letter from the hotel GM.
Regardless we had a wonderful time during our visit to Jordan.

Le Meridien Amman is filled with staff who could not be more solicitous of your needs. They are among the best I have ever encountered. In addition, the statuary above the reception desk is extremely well done. It sets a tone of excellence that resonates throughout the hotel from the dining room to the bedroom. In my book "I Married A Travel Junkie" (GemmaBooks, Boston, MA) I talk about all the reasons not to travel. Facilities like Le Meridien are not among them.
