Rated 4 out of 5 by A very relaxing stay My wife and I spent 4 days at Le Meridien. We went to get away from the hubbub of Riyadh and succeeded in finding peace and quiet, and luxury. The staff and service were flawless, as was the room, the sea view, the eating facilities and the men's gym. The only negative is the recreation facilities for women. The gym is small, while the men's is large and well equipped. The (outdoor) swimming pool is clearly designed for children. There is no swimming facility for women at all, and this has to be addressed if the hotel wants to berecognised as a full five-star for holidays. October 17, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst of all SPG hotels i have been to I stayed for more than 45 nights, reached platinum and went through hassle to get it changed. Wanted to talk to manager and he being the boss did not even want to talk to me. Worst loyalty recognition ever, when i told them i do not want any privileges i'm entitled for platinum benefits but just the breakfast lounge access and the manager ignores me, the reception guys do not have decision making capability. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Hotel, but inconsistencies Beautiful hotel, friendly and helpful staff, and very good service overall. There were inconsistencies in the room services. For a five star hotel I would expect the service to be high quality and the same each day. Some days there was no towel for the floor by the shower, bottled water was provided every day but it ranged from one bottle to four, some days no tea/coffee was provided while most days two of each was provided, one day my room was not even cleaned. Overall I was happy with the hotel, and I'd almost definitely use this hotel the next time I travel to AlKhobar May 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by As always a home from home! I have stayed in this hotel regularly since 2006 and have always found the attention from the staff to be second to none. When you walk through the door you are made to feel welcome and appreciated. The hotel rooms are superb and if something is missing then it only takes a phone call to make it right. Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful Experience I was very surprised with my stay at the hotel. Very much a world class facility. The staff was very attentive to my every need. The 12th floor provided fantastic views of the gulf and the food was very good. I would suggest this as the location of choice for anyone visiting the area. Very well done. April 10, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by No privilege for SPG loyalty Put me on a smoking room when i asked for non-smoking specific. I had to put up with bad reception desk for a mistake they did by adjusting in tobacco smell for a night. To make matters worse, you expect someone in the front desk when you reach hotel after a long flight of 16 hours. No one in reception for 15 minutes. No lounge access for gold members and zero privileges for loyalty. i do not see a point of having SPG loyalty at all when all other SPG chain hotels acknowledge being gold. Rated 4 out of 5 by Business Trip to Al Khobar This was my first trip to KSA for business and in all honesty, I did not know what to expect, The hotel was recommended via our companies travel office for safety and accommodations. The room was very clean comfortable and well appointed. Every day, I was provided complimentary water and fresh fruit and a voucher for free espresso / Cappuccino at the coffee shop n the lobby. The hotel staff were courteous and made every effort to make my stay comfortable. The three hotel restaurants, while expensive, provided excellent fare. March 1, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Another great stay at the Meridien Khobar I came back to stay at the Meridien Khobar one more time last week end. They remember me from a year ago went I spent more than 3 weeks at this hotel. It was like visiting friends. From the luggage attendant to the reception desk the service was perfect. At Le Café de Paris the food was once again delicious and diverse. It is just too bad I will lose my platinum status at the end of the year, hope I can enjoy the same kind of treatment on my next stay. I highly recommend this hotel if you stay in the Khobar area. Rated 4 out of 5 by excellent hotel Have stayed in this hotel on many occasions and the quality has always been good given the fact that renovations have taken place in the last year. I particularly enjoy using the executive floor as it is a quiet area to relax and if necessary work. During my last two visits however, this facility has been unavailable, instead the use of rooms on the second floor is provided. I have to say that these rooms are rather dated and inferior to that on the twelfth floor and it made for a rather disappointing experience. April 15, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Waiting time Good business hotel, but: - Waiting time for check-out is typically very high on Wed/Thu morning, that is not acceptable for a business hotel - Transportation/Car service (through external company) is very, very poor - Room temperature is kept too low (16 degrees)... always have to switch it off and wear a jumper upon check in March 13, 2014

Rated 2 out of 5 by Internet! and better SPG recognition Probably has one of the worst internet service i have experienced so far across starwood. Additionally, even though I stay here regularly (and have platinum status), the staff many times allocate twin beds. This is despite my frequent requests for king size bed. March 10, 2014

My colleague and I arrived at 12.30 am tired from over 20 hr day to be told our stay was booked via a third party (Expedia) and not eligible for SPG points and that if you do not have your room cleaned for your three night stay, you will receive some points. Well sorry but NO, loyalty programs are to reward the loyal, not to rip them off!!. I stay in hotels for business over 70 nights a year and will be choosing an alternative when visiting Al Khobar. The newly renovated rooms and interiors are fantastic. And right away you could see a jump in morale of the staff. The new assistant general manager, Bassam, reached out on my last stay and to address previous concerns personally. Keep up the great work! February 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent Staff & Hotel My stay at Hotel Le Meridien in Al-Khobar Saudi Arabia, was and has always been a wonderful experience for me. My favorite parts of this hotel are: 1) the rooms and 2) the meal in the main lobby diner. The rooms are spotlessly maintained. And with the introduction of the "ECO Stay Lifestyle", I have been an ardent fan of eco way of living, I am very happy with it. The meal offered in the main lobby is of various choices that it caters for any taste. May 4, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Hotel Checked in early, however we were surprised to notice that Le Meridien did not send their own car for airport pickup rather it was a rent-a car hired for the pickup. Rooms were nice, however knowing that its a single person in the room I had two beds instead of one. Being an SPG member I have never stayed in any property with Two beds instead of a King Bed option. Management needs to look at these small details in future. Overall stay was good. Spoke to manager about this and he says he can do nothing about even a simple breakfast request even for a repeat guest who stayed 15 days 2 months back I checked out in 3 days instead of the 10 days I booked due to his unsatisfactory behaviour Giving corporate guests with 4 hour Internet connection and claiming as free high speed Internet access is a hoax marketing June 27, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hotel with Smiles I have been staying at the Le Meridien for 17 years in Al-Khobar and it truely covers all my needs when visiting on business. I was a little unsure about the white leather chairs in the foyer, but when I tried one didnt want to get out of it. !! I do like the friendly attitude of the staff, it comes across as real, and not as in some other hotels as a fake emotion. Will be back in September. Thanks for making me feel so at home . Rated 5 out of 5 by Check Out but don't leave yet Each time I check out of your hotel, I have an issue with language with the front desk staff. This time, was miscommunication on weather I was going to be billed for breakfast on day of check out our not. This caused an embarrasing situation for me in your lobby, when the portly gentleman from the restaurant chased me down in the lobby and made me hand over my credit card in front of my colleagues to pay for breakfast. Rated 3 out of 5 by Le Meridien - Al Khobar KSA experience At check in (early hours of the morning) my pre booked room was not available and was given a twin bed room which did not suit my needs. I was promised a room as booked the next evening. After returning to theHotel the next day I had to insist on a room change!! The room rate was not altered for my first night stay and I paid the full price! My SPG was not recognised until I pointed this out to the Staff. October 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Meridien Al Khobar I have stayed at the Meridien on 2 separate occasions now and both times the hotel has lived up to my expectations. There are drawbacks, but that is down to local law, not to the hotel. The hotel cars used for airport transport etc could use an update though. Also the sauna could do with a refurbish, but overall still acceptable. Rooms are spacious and fully fitted with all modern compfort. Excellent beds. September 19, 2013

I stay here because I am SPG Gold Member and the rooms are comfortable. Everytime I come I book a car for dinner and a day of meetings. the car is either never ready, or not available even though I book well in advace.
