I have stayed at this hotel previously and have to say that this time I was disappointed. We were offered an upgrade for a nominal fee which was accepted. Sadly the offer did not live up to expectations. The room while visually very nice seemed to be always dirty (it was the carpet that needed a good shampooing). A charge was made against my CC on arrival and yet within a day I was being presented with a bill and requesting to clear it ASAP - as they had not taken a large enough charge initially. The bill included items that were not chargeable (Wi-Fi) and mini bar items that were not consumed. Even after informing reception these remained on the bill until Check Out - is it our responsibility to check that the items properly?
On a good point the restaurants were for the most part very good. We had dinner on the three nights there and were impressed with the Long Ying, the Seafood Market and Ms Beef Bistro. Breakfasts were ample and enjoyable (we were on a diet prior to our visit).
Sadly we were left with a bad taste in our mouths when we had lunch on the last day in the Dubliners - not sure if this is Le Meridien. There are much better pub lunches available elsewhere in Dubai and as such we will be avoiding here on our next visit.

I Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights on December 7th. The key to the room did not work the second night and they decided I should go to another room (no one apologized for my inconvenience). On December 20th on my way back to USA, I booked a room at Festive Rate. I arrived at the hotel at 4 am. I told the desk staff that I will be there until 8 pm. The night time hotel Manager said that they have a lot of rooms available, but the check in time is 2:00 pm. I said I understand that, but I am staying only 14 hours and I am a Platinum member. Does loyalty means anything to you? He said he does not care about the loyalty and If I want to stay in lobby for few hours until check in time. He said that I paid the low rate and the only way he will allow me to stay in the room is to pay for two nights. I tried to reason with him for 30 minutes that it is not fair to pay for two nights and stay only 14 hours. But he said I could book my room at a different hotel if I want. I booked at another hotel. I then asked him to cancel my reservation but, he said to do it yourself online. I spend another hour on the phone to get refund for the room at LeMeridian Dubai. I did not want to report all this...But, I just noticed that they did not give credit for my 3 nights stay during Dec 7 - Dec 10.

Hotel was beautiful, clean, nice gym + other facilities, and the staff was friendly in the hotel. Would definitely stay there again.
There were a few times when I asked the staff and concierge for advice on things to see and do in Dubai and they struggled with some of my questions. I believe the concierge had a "training" badge however.
When I went to the front door, the staff were helpful at waving over a taxi but I think the hotel needs to better screen taxis that they let their guests use or they need some system of accountability for the taxis that they let onto their property. My reasons are as follows:
Taxi #1: Did not have adequate change and made me (over)pay in dollars even though I had ample AED on hand.
Taxi#2: Did not know how to drive to the correct terminal at DXB, even though terminal was only about 1km from hotel. Cab driver was new, was talking on his mobile trying to get directions from a friend but, even though I explained where he needed to drive, he did not listen and, ultimately, I had to get out and walk.
Most taxis I've taken in Dubai have offered an excellent experience but, the only 2 that I picked up at this hotel fell short. I know that the taxis are not employed by the hotel and I know that the hotel also offers an in-house driver but I'd recommend stronger taxi screening procedures.

Having stayed at this hotel 14 times in the past 6 years, on our last visit 2 weeks ago, we were very disappointed.
We nornally have an Art and Tec room, but was told if we book a classic, the hotel would up grade us to an Art and tec room.
On arriving at the airport, we were supposed to be collected, unfortunatly the hotel managed to get the wrong arrival date, so we had to telephone the hotel and were eventually collected. On our first night there although we had been given an Art and Tec room, it did not come with any of the benefits. We also found that we had been put next to a main entrance and a room where the occupant thought he would have his meetings outside his room on the patio, so noise and talking would be heard into the night. After three days we asked to move. We were transfered to a Royal club room, but the ones that had not been modernized so very basic and old. Because we had basically been down graded, we thought we would get the Royal club benefits. Wrong. Unfortuatly not told this until breakfast when we ordered and was told rather abruptly, you have to pay for that. This was not a problem, but having paid 1440 aed including tax for a classic room which was more expensive than a royal club with all benefits, I thought this was really unfair. It did not help when talking to other clients that they were paying no where near the rate I had been charged. I suppose thats the benefit of being a regular customer, the hotel take advantage of you.
I must admit the service this time was no where near the service we have been given in the past. I actually like the hotel, but their rates and service are not consistant. I have just tried to book for another 6 days as I have business there next week, I sent an email, but so far have had no response. Telephoned the hotel tonight, but gave up after spending 10 minutes on the telephone being transfered from one person to another. I would possibly stay at the hotel again, just hoping the service is inproved.
