Stayed at Le Méridien, Tahiti for the second time 10 days ago. 6 years ago, we stayed in a room in the main building. The rooms back then looked tired and needed some TLC. Since we stayed in an over the water bungalow this time I don't know if the main house rooms have been updated. However, the over the water bungalow are still in need of much TLC. The shower, which is totally enclosed by a glass door, smelled horribly of sewage! Extremely unpleasant! the cleanliness of the room was okay. Sand next to bed upon check in. Bumpy old pillows. However, the view is fantastic from the bungalow. Wished it would have a swimming platform. We ate at the restaurant by the ocean and our waiter was snooty. But I did observe that most staff was very nice at the restaurant. The reason why I marked that I would recommend the Hotel is only because it's a convenient stop before going to an other Island. Its in the Starwood program so at least you earn points.

The employee s made everything good there aditude and personally was beautiful and the rooms were my disappointment my the situation I experienced

Good hotel, great sandy pool and bar by the beach. Service in the restaurant can be slow at times, Breakfast in very good on a Sunday but get it included in the room rate as its expensive.
Wifi is free in the lobby area but chargeable in rooms etc, even the "fast" wifi is poor at times.
Also some rooms have some road noise
Hotel is about 15/20 min drive from the airport but traffic can be bad at times

When we booked Le Meridian, specially the water bungalow we were super excited. The price was steep ... but we said what the heck one night and lets live it up.
Service was bad, they were under staffed. You expect suite like service for the price. No butler service.
AC wasn't working so we moved bungalows.
Safe didn't work in the new room nor did the coffee machine.
We went for dinner the hotel restaurant and there was no place for 2 people.
Have to mention that the only highlight was the server at the coffee shop who was all smiles and amazing service. but before he came the woman would not even come to our table.
the front office every time we called would not even be apologetic for their delay or response.
after the complain to the manager he waived the internet and one meal.
Not a single person came to apologize or make it better for the rest of our stay.
The room had sand under the bed, had not even been cleaned properly

We stayed here for one night as a family on our way to Bora Bora. This was a very convenient and easy ride from the airport -- 15 minutes at most. They allowed us to check in at 7am as an SPG Platinum member, which was much appreciated after a long flight from LAX.
The rooms are relatively new and nice. Had an ocean front-view room. A/C did not work well in either room. Beware. Nice balcony. Nice bathroom. Be clear, the over-water bungalows are not worth it -- they are just little huts over some rocks in the lagoon. These are not Bora Bora bungalows.
There is a nice lagoon to swim in -- kind of a man made beach/pool. It was great for kids. They loved it.
The food was terrible and we went out to eat after our first meal there. Breakfast is included for Platinums and that was fine.
I did get the sense not many people worked here. I would go all day and see like 2 or 3 employees -- on the entire grounds of the resort. Runs very lean.I went down to ask to borrow a converter to plug our American chargers into -- and the front desk person said they do not have any. I found that hard to believe and after pushing a bit he found "one in the office."
Again, this is a "fine" hotel for one or two nights but you would be horribly bored if you visited for more than that.

Loved the garden at this hotel.
A brave attempt to make a natural looking swimmng pool failed miserably as the linng was often apparent and the sand bottom makes it difficult to keep the hotel free from debris.
Big let down..very tired bathroom, rust and mould in several places. Dark mouldy patch above the room AC unit.
Battling against the elements..(the hotel is very open plan) is no easy task.This hotel neads a little tllc.
