Rated 3 out of 5 by DanTheTravelGuy Old hotel but great location
Le Parker Meridien is one of the many hotels I stayed during my business trip to New York. To compare with other hotels in the similar area
Pro: 1. Great location. It's proximity to Central Park and subway station is just convenient.
2. Staff. People work at this hotel take pride and are extremely nice every step of the way from check in to check out.
3. Gym. If you like to work out during travel, this hotel has its all. Not the average hotel gym you'd expected.
Con: 1. Feels old. This hotel is old, from carpet, to door lock, to furniture, to design. No music player in the room if you are someone like me who likes to blast music in the room.
2. Prices. I'm not talking about room per night, but food, dry clean, in room water, etc.
3. View. Suites have no view what so ever. Ask for rooms on high floor facing Central Park. You will thank me.

I'm a big spg fan and have held status with them for years, mostly international travel though. This was the first hotel I can honestly say I was really disappointed and my first time writing a review. I even took photos it was so bad. The room felt old and dirty. Sure, there were some cool elements like the blow-out salon and make-up area in basement. I'm also always a sucker for the great spg workout facilities. The lobby was really beautiful too.
We reserved two adjoining rooms to accommodate the kids. There were no two double bed options for rooms but were assured there was a pull out couch. The pullout couch bed was worse than my grandmothers in the 1980's. You could feel every single bar. The mattress was so thin you could visibly see the couch support bars just by looking at it. The couch had visible tears and the stuffing was protruding out of them. The drapes were broken off the rod. The door hinges were rusty. The mini fridge was broken but was "replaced" with a temporary mini fridge oddly located on the windowsill and with a poorly made hand written sign done on the back of a Do Not Disturb door hanger. We had seven people (5 small kids) but were only given one set of bath products per bathroom. The workout facility had really interesting wood wall designs but while running I realized it looked like it had never been dusted. I could see a very thick layer of dust resting on the wall beams. Overall the hotel needs to be renovated and quickly. I was really disappointed.

We spent the weekend at this hotel with our daughter and three of her friends. Staff treated her like royalty, even surprising her with chocolate covered strawberries in their room. Breakfast at Norma's capped off a wonderful weekend

Rated 1 out of 5 by MichaelCO Unable to control room temperature
This hotel does not allow guests to control the temperature in their room. There is a thermostat, but the hotel apparently has central control of the HVAC, so the air conditioning is turned off at night and the rooms get very hot. If you want to control the temperature in your room, you should avoid this hotel. The staff was not helpful, and seemed to not entirely understand the issue.
