Overall I am very disappointed by my recent experience this week at Le Meridien. I cashed in 8000 points for a Deluxe King room.
First, they didn't recognize that on my booking it clearly said I had an allergy to feathers (my SPG profile has it clearly listed as well). I even called at 2pm on day of checkin to remind them I needed a feather free room and would arrive by 4pm. The front desk who answered my long distance call assured me the room would be ready feather free. It was not! I had to wait 20-30 mins in the lobby for the room to get ready.
Next, my room had a broken air conditioner. Maintenance man came and he was nice and helpful. He admitted I needed a new room. He arranged for it while I went to dinner with a colleague. After dinner returned to move myself into new room. By the way, the hotel restaurant /bar was closed so not convenient.
Next morning on check-out I called down ahead asking for my car to be ready from valet. Same girl answered the phone. 30 mins later I'm checking out and the car wasn't ready! I had to wait 20 mins....now late for my meeting. And during that time several staff speaking in French (because they clearly didn't realize that this anglophone understands French) thought the situation was funny. As someone now late, and who had several bad experiences during the stay, I can assure them I didn't find it funny nor did I appreciate their unprofessionalism.
A good location to things in the west of the city. Final room was clean. But be warri that this is a boutique hotel that doesn't seem to have front staff who know how to handle concerns in a professional manner.

A very convenient hotel for me I come late at night and leave early the front staff are great make check in really fast and check out fast. I really looking forward to staying hear longer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by SPG1 Lobby 'under renovation' is an understatement
When I booked the hotel I saw the comment that the lobby was 'under renovation' but did not realize the extent of the renovation and the SPG website sure did not reflect the fact that the lobby had been completely demolished and checkin was operating from a matchbox size area surrounded by temporary unfinished drywall, construction debris and workings moving around at a fast pace. On the positive side we had a nice platinum upgrade to a corner junior suite.
