Certainly a superb hotel worthy of its 5 stars status. The staff were courteous, helpful and professional. The location of this hotel is also fantastic with its proximity to amenities and places of interest, as well as easy access to airport.

Overall my stay was comfortable and there were no really unpleasant surprises. The hotel is a bit run down in general and could do with a makeover. The room was spacious but does not meet the modern business person needs. It was clean and tidy but without the 'extra touch'. The gym was below expectations and very run down. So was the club lounge and food offering. The steak restaurant and lunch buffet was good and service fine. Meeting facilities met our needs, but drinks and snacks were not satisfactory.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Robyn Club room features excellent
Great location - Room and service excellent - all our request were met. Entertainment was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed quiet drinks and light music at Flames. The Harvest Festival entertainment was wonderful. Club room facilities fantastic and Wendy was just delightful and extremely helpful. We would have no hesitations in recommending your hotel to our friends.

1. Did not met the room assignment as per emailed arrival confirmation details.
2. Room cleanliness is below average.
3. The room given doesn't smells fresh.
4. Lack of service attentiveness at the lounge.
5. Room service serving standard is horrible. Ordered a Spaghetti Bolognese and it doesn't come with Parmesan cheese. No tooth pick given with the serving.

The check in staff is friendly. Breakfast range is good. However, the mirror at Room 625 is stained. It affects my rating for this hotel.
Hotel should provide free Wi Fi to all guests, especially the SPG member.

Rated 5 out of 5 by hcf955 One of the best hotel in Kota Kinabalu
Kota Kinabalu was a side trip in additional to our Hong Kong trip. We had a wonderful time during the 4 days visit to this beautiful island. My wife is a bit picky when choosing a hotel. There are only two well known international hotels located in the city center in which I’m also the loyalty member for both. I did some finding on the web site and finally chosen the Le Meridien.
My SPG membership status was acknowledged at check-in. They upgraded us to a sea view suite with club lounge access. So cool! Services were good at the front desk, restaurants and in particular at the club lounge. We had a Japanese dinner buffet at other 5-star hotel. I am disappointed for the little selection and quality of food for the price of US$45 per person. We’re glad we did not stay there since the hotel lobby and restaurant looks a lot older than Le Meridian and the location is not as good as the Le Meridien too!

I have a splendid stay at this hotel. Its location is superb, right in the middle of kota kinabalu close to where everything is, shopping, eateries, and sight seeing (including the nearby islands jetty at jeselton point).
The best part of the hotel is the club room on the 12th floor where you can just gaze at the sunset.....
