Rated 5 out of 5 by absolutely great location absolutely great location, directly at the metro ( Peopels Squere )station to Pudong airport. Very nice club, an upgrade to a club room, fantastic view. At 100% will be back October 11, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Considering the 4th time return~~~maybe It is my 3rd time return to this hotel and this time I stayed for a week. Although my shedule is really tight n not so much time to enjoy the facilities within the hotel, I could still experience that the staff at the greeting areas around the lobby and elevator assess are more proactive then the previous times with a standard greeting and customer could feel they are really welcoming people. Some training must be done! Good job. Would expect the check-in staff be more friendly to their customer instead of always making their guest feel they are wrong by an accussing attitude. You are here to assist guest in a Starwood property and representing the hotel by creating a first impression to all different enthical of people. Also, the Cafe female (manager? in black suit) stiff face & eye-sight every morning on the floor ( same person of all my 3 times of stay), seriously I don't feel welcome at all for breakfast, that's why I seldom choose to have breakfast during this time of stay. I'm sure this could be my major consideration of chossing my next stay in Shanghai. Besides this, thanks for the GM follow up and guest card. December 12, 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by A great Hotel but improvement to the F&B section needed I have stayed at least 4 times this year in LeMeridian. Overall expectations is good. F&B section need some attentions. On 2 occasions, the breakfast time becomes a mood spoiler. The restaurant is crowed and the waitress who showed us the table get us squeezed in the middle of a long series of table. Where I notice that the section just behind the entrance was emptied and reserved only for non-ASIAN. I sees caucasian being led there, where I am led to squeeze with others, this is very unpleasant. I requested to change and have to talk to the manager incharge to change over. 2nd occassion is having a "Sunny side up" eggs. The "CHEF" preparing my eggs, did not bother to attend to me even I mentioned twice in local language. Finally, I speaks in English where my sunny side up are prepared after 10mins of standing like a rabbit waiting for my food. This two occasions did not stopped me coming agian, because I like the enviroment and some staffs here. Please make improvement and train the people as required. Else the standard will dropped and dropped further. I shall return agian in 2013 when I goes back to Shanghai again. December 20, 2012

Rated 3 out of 5 by Sept 2012 I stay at this hotel 2-3x per year and have always liked it. This last stay was below par though. My Jr. Suite room had no hot water the first night. I had maintenance fix it and they did for the next day. In addition the room was VERY hot and the AC did not cool enough. It took 3 calls and finally they told me they "fixed it" but also set the lowest level for 20dgC. Of course even if that was true the room never got that cold during the daytime and so was uncomfortably warm. I left the hotel for 1 night and when I returned asked for an upgraded room to a reg. Suite as a Platinum Member and in recognition of the above problems. I was graciously told they would be happy to for an extra 500rmb/night. Not what I usually get as a Platinum SPG member. Finally, the dinner buffet is really going downhill. Used to be very nice, but now is not kept up well. Food is often not replaced enough and so gets old. Service is poor. Price remains very high for this level of buffet at a 5 Star. I still like the overall hotel and location and people so I am not changing yet, but I am not thrilled with the direction things have been moving.... September 27, 2012

Rated 3 out of 5 by Not exactly a 5 star hotel To be honest, this is the worst Le Meridien I have ever stayed! The reason I am giving such a low score for this hotel is mainly because the air condition didn’t work properly during my entire stay. Shanghai’s weather in November is kind of cold, so naturally I set the thermo stand at 25 Celsius after I entered my room. After 20 minutes, I still felt my room was on the chill side, so I put my hand near the vent, and I felt the air came out from the vent was chill. So I called the service desk, and they sent a mechanic to check it out. There is no much the mechanic can do (as it was 11pm), so he provided me electric heater and said he will tell his colleagues to look into this matter next day. The next day, when I returned to my room the heat was not fixed yet. I called up the service desk, again, they sent another mechanic guy to my room, and this time I was told by the mechanic guy that I was the only person said the room is not warm enough, and in fact some guests suggested their rooms are hot. I had nothing to say to the mechanic and just let him go. One thing I feel funny is I used electronic heater for 4 days during my stay in a 5-star hotel! November 25, 2013
