Rated 4 out of 5 by Another Good stay, could be better though It is always very nice to see the familiar faces at the Royal Club lounge at the 44th floor. And the reception girls remember my name. Great! Upgraded as normal and room is comfy and the gym is standard and nothing to be concerned about. Two minor points to make: There is a considerable gap on the shower door when it is shut in the suite I stayed. And I didn't use the rainforest shower and the water was leaking everywhere through the gap. I had breakfast for a change this time at the Lobby level because it has a vast selection. (The service at the club level is always wonderful.) But it definately lacks home-made Dimsums, there were only two mass supplier produced choices on that morning and both were in short supply. I thought Shanghai Chinese are proud of there Xiaolongbao and some other Dimsums. It won't be a bad idea for your guests to enjoy your chef hand-made fresh ones. Otherwise, as always, amazing selection! June 16, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Very Lousy Front Desk Service Every time the front desk will cheat you that you only book double bed room instead of King bed room but of course I did reserve the king bed room. Need big arguing & fighting with their professional front desk staff, they will give you the King bed room which you did reserved; HATE & TIRED. This hotel should be the WORST hotel in Sheraton Group in the world. January 27, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Outstanding hotel This was my first time staying at the Royal Meridien Shanghai, having stayed at the Westin Bund Center on past trips. My wife, my colleagues and I were all tremendously impressed with the hotel facilities and staff, and the views of Pudong are spectacular. I hope we're lucky enough to get the same room on our next visit! Highly recommended. November 15, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great hotel, but Club 789 has slowest service ever! Fantastic location overlooking Nanjing Rd. Great hotel overall. Only disappointment was club 789, fantastic views, but not enough staff to handle number of guests, so drinks take 20-30 minutes each time to arrive. Went 3 times, 3rd time was enough to realize this was a reoccuring issue. Hire more staff and this would be a great club. Views are amazing!!! April 29, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Location, Average Service and facilities I request a non-smoking room in higher floor, hotel give me a room in smoking floor and there is ashtray in the table. I understand hotel may not able to find a suitable room but Front desk lady should mention this to me before give me the room key. Late on, I ask the staff in the Exective Club Lounge find a non-smoking room for me after 5:30pm. September 21, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very good location, but hotel is a little bit hotel It's so surprised to me the location of the hotel is really at the center of Shanghai, walking distance to the peoples square and shopping street to easily get the food. But it is a pity that the room is pretty hot although i set to lowest temperature at 18 degree of air cond which may not strong enough while the days are hot during my stay period. July 3, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by The hotel is located in great location The design of room is great and elegant, but the bathroom design like the bath tub and shower are not practical. It is always a long wait for elevator from ground floor to lobby and from lobby to room and vice versa. There is no indicator light to show the elevator is available when door is open. There is always a long wait at the taxi stand. July 4, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by great location and facilities The hotel was great for short walks in the evening and during the day. It was well centered to visit the sights we wanted. As we like to relax during the afternoon we found the club lounge and the fitness center to be perfect. Staff in all areas of the hotel were excellent - special note for the concierge and lounge staff members. October 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel has its own features Your hotel is located in a place which is very convenient for travellers. The facilities are excellent. The Staff is nice and diligent. However, the staff people in breakfast area are not focused on servicing people. They were talking with each other. In addition, the bill for breakfast could be sgined off after the breakfast is served. April 27, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Room is Nasty I have stayed at this hotel twice in last two weeks that I have been traveling for business. The first time, the room was clean. The second time, my room is nasty, the carpet is stained, there is mold in shower and toliet area. I am wondering if my towels have been cleaned recently, as they had black on them. Rated 4 out of 5 by Very Good Choice The location is great, food is very good and the hotel is beautiful and very modern. This is what you expect from the Le Meridien. The staff is attentive but NOT the conciege desk. The restaurant staff goes out of their way to help but other staff members are just OK, nothing special. Get a room that faces the Bund if you can. Rated 5 out of 5 by The club lounge is the best in the world My husband and I had the pleasure of staying here for over a week. It was the best experience we have had in any hotel for a long time. The efficiency and courteous manner in which we were greeted each day was fantastic. The staff were friendly helpful and extremely efficient in meeting our needs. The beautiful person in charge (tall dark hair with a beautiful smile) was so kind and her focus was always on making our visit a memorable experience. It was so wonderful to see people who are passionate about their jobs and are proud of where they work. . Emile (I remember her names as we have a daughter of that name) was also very efficient and friendly. We have recommended this hotel to many of our friends for both rest and relaxation or for business needs. There is nothing that can not be done by the lounge staff. By far the best lounge experience we have ever had. Thanks you for the wonderful experience. Please let us know what that girl's name is Thanks again April 19, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Has to be the best in Shanghai Everything at this hotel was great. Friendly staff suburb facilities. I reserved a junior suite and was upgraded to a deluxe suite. It had unparalleled views with floor to ceiling windows. The club level staff were all terrific. The gym was well equipped and the pool was excellent. This is a great place to stay in Shanghai. Rated 4 out of 5 by This Hotel is Well situated Having stayed at the Hotel a few times now I enjoy the convenience of its location, well appointed and ease of getting on line on arrival. The dining area is pleasant and provides a good selection. The room was however not properly cleaned and a used wine glass was left on the side table. This was the only disappointment. I love your breakfast menu but in-room dinning food wasn't good as breakfast. I love Taiwanese beef noodle soup but your hotel's beef noodle soup wasn't that tasty. Overall experience was good but room was too dusty. I am sure you can improve this. January 28, 2013

Its F&B outlets are excellent , guest rooms tasteful, relaxing and well-appointed, convenient location .The lounge is great for breakfast and pre-dinner drinks and snacks. Staff are obliging and helpful. I recently had my 10th stay here. Highly recommended. December 28, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by Room and breakfast The room was small. Bed was definitely not king-size though the staff said all 'king-size' beds in this hotel are smaller than the usual king-size. Very disappointed. Bathing gel, soap, lotion, etc. were of inferior quality. Having five days of breakfast in the restaurant with the almost same food were not impressive. December 27, 2012

Rated 3 out of 5 by need staff training 1) Staff needs to study English 2) Staff needs to pay attention to customers, especially at the breakfast. 3) Even after I told the restaurant manager to correct shortcomings, and he responded that he would make changes immediately, it was the same the day after. We cannot expect the Meridien experience here. August 28, 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent location and overall ambience Been a big fan of this hotel. I love the location, the service, the room views, the pool/gym. The bed seems to be getting a bit hard so needs some change. The carpet has become dull and hard and needs to be changed or soap washed. Many of my colleagues have already started moving to other hotels due to this. April 9, 2012

The warm lobby and friendly staff in the executive lounge are always a welcome sight. Still lots of good memories here. Rated 4 out of 5 by Poor Customer serrvice I was absolutely disappointed with the hotel. This is the second time I stayed in this hotel and my first experience was not too bad and that was why I decided to return. This time I booked a junior suite but the service I had was worse than my first stay when I was booked with a standard room. The wifi reception in the room was so poor that neither my iPhone nor iPad could connect to the wifi anywhere in the room. Even with the rare occasion I got connected, it dropped off virtually right the way. At times I could find the network but when I tried to connect, I only got the message of unable to connect to the wifi. I called the help desk and was only told that it was nothing wrong with the hotel wifi and must be something to do with my phone and the iPad. Other than that there is not even any offer of assistance to get me solve the connection. In Shanghai there are plenty of Starwoods hotel and I would not be short of any choices so I think this is the last time I will stay with you. September 9, 2012

Please get local law enforcement to get rid of the guys just outside hotel main door to solicit for any non-legit stuff... March 11, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Great location but dated Great location and staff is very attentive. I have stayed here in the past and it seems that the hotel is not as good anymore perhaps due to age. Room was always had a musty/moldy smell and air condition cannot stay cold. Friend of mine in another room also complained of smell in their room. July 25, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this hotel Le Royal Meridien is my favorite hotel in Asia, the service, the staff, the facilites, the location and the BEDS. the beds are a dream- as a frequent business traveller its important to feel at home and comfortable Le Royal Meridien makes me not want to leave, and that is quite a achievement. Rated 3 out of 5 by Good, but not quite excellent. Location is very good (5 minute walk from People´s Square, on Nanjing Road). I wouldn´t necessarily recommend the hotel not because it is bad or because I didn´t like it (except maybe for the mess in the elevators), but I know that for the price payed, there are other options available.
