This hotel is an a good position, staff is professional and kindy.
The hotel has not appeal, nothing of Thai style.
Wasted space everywhere: from the business center floor up to the rooms (only 2 small drawers and a lot of unuseful solutions).
The breakfast room seems a big canteen.
The pool is very small for the dimension of the hotel.
If you want to live the intimate and warm Thai atmosphere, this is not the right hotel.

We stayed the second time in this Hotel and we will come again.
We had this time some issue with our room, this was perfectly solved, we got a new upgraded room, even the laundry was redirected to the new room.
This Hotel is perfectly managed, the staff friendly and helpfull and this needs to be considered by high occupancy of the Hotel.

This is the 2nd time i stay with le meridian in chiang mai. the hotel still have good facilities but i think service wise there can be room for improvement. over all its still a pleasant stay, but if there's a chance to stay with le meridian again in chiang mai i hope the standard can be raise to a higher bar. :)

Wonderful hotel with great location right at the Night Bazaar.
The Junior Suite was very comfortable with great view of Doi Suhep.
Minor issue: some Club Lounge staff were not very friendly (especially the two ladies who worked on Wed - January 9, 2013 in the afternoon and evening).

Definitely stay here if I visit again and will recommend friends.
+ 1st impression was great as they have upgraded my hotel room towards mountain side on a higher floor (18th), provided complementary Wi-Fi and daily Illy tea/coffee at Altitude18.
+ Staff were very friendly, helpful and prompt - hall mark of a great hotel.
+ Location is awesome as its at heart of the Chiang Mai - its just next to Night Market/Bazaar which is a shopping haven (even with cheap version of branded goods), all restaurants e.g. Babylonian, Duke's, McDs, Subway, Indian, Arabian, Italian, English Resto & bars, plethora of massage parlours, etc.
+ Proximity to airport and local attractions e.g. old city temples, etc.
+ Great for business with plenty of conference rooms, etc.
- 1st impression could have been better if they would have provided a welcome drink and a refreshing face towel.
- There is no facility to provide child care which could bring in more guests with small children. We felt that with our 7 year old kid however staffs were hospitable enough to keep check when we left him playing iPad at lobby sofas.
- The pool doesn't meet the hotel standards and could have been relocated to a higher floor to provide a better view of the mountains at least e.g. an Infinity view style pool.

The hotel is new and is well-maintained. It is kept clean and in like-new condition. Staff is friendly and helpful.
The location is good - next to the night market and within walking distance of the old walled city. Many restaurants are nearby.
The check-in process takes a while, and if several people arrive at the same time, there can sometimes be a wait.
Breakfast for Platinum members is available in the lounge and in the main restaurant. The lounge buffet is very limited, but the atmosphere is quiet and relaxed. The restaurant buffet is extensive, but the room can get very busy and noisy.
I wish there was a walkway for pedestrians from the entrance to the street to avoid walking down the busy driveway.

I love this hotel because of its exceptional attention to detail and very personalized service. We have stayed here many times and would never think of changing. The hotel just got an upgrade with the addition of a new Front Office Manager directly coming from the St Regis Bangkok.

Le Meridien Chiang Mai is located very close to the Night Bazzar. Travel in Chiang Mai is very easy, whether it be a Tuk Tuk, Songthaew or Taxi.
Service was excellent. Guest Services manager Voramon is always charming and professional. Chef Kumar was personable and attentive.
