AC in my room was making a loud noise whenever it started. I told the front desk personally and requested them to take care of it. It was not fixed and I had disturbed sleep throughout my stay. One of the worst experiences.

We had a wonderful stay. The room, the view, the bed, bathroom all excellent. The staff is so friendly and treated us like royalty. This hotel has an excellent location in central San Francisco. Will be staying here again.

Booked and paid for a king size bed room and received a double bed room by the elevator.
You can figure out how displeased I was with my stay.
Nice facility, well located in the Fab City-by-the-Bay, but poorly run!

Despite the San Fran renovation, our stay was wonderful due to the ever attentive staff. Robes were delivered promptly, a late check-out was easily arranged and the temporary lobby was brighted by a cheerful staff.

Conveniently located in the heart of San Francisco. Stayed the night to attend a concert at the Regency Theater. Valet overnight parking is approximately $50 per night. Staff was amiable and facilities are clean.

Great location, easy access to my offices and great restaurants and sites when on personal trips. Rooms are comfortable. Lucky to have great views of the Bay Bridge, Coit Tower and the bay on many of my visits.

I enjoyed my stay in San Francisco but found the overall hotel staff attitude less than accommodating. The front desk and concierge staff were great. But, the room cleaning staff less so. After each visit, I had to request a face towel and wash cloth. One time I returned to the room to pick up a sweater and the woman cleaning demanded to see my ID. I appreciated her concern for security but she needs to work on her "manners." The bar tender was RUDE on each occasion I visited the bar. Finally the bell men demanded payment for helping transport boxes -- understandably they expected payment and they were certainly going to be tipped generously - but unacceptable for them to to demand payment after the fact. When asked about this "demand," their "supervisor" complained about an earlier failure to "tip" when in fact they had been tipped quite generously. While I understand the need for gratuities in a service job, this behavior seems at odds with the image conveyed by the Meridien. Members of the staff came off as a bit greedy and grasping -- not what one expects from an expensive and highly touted hotel. I live on the east coast which is often maligned for its lack of courtesy and gentility. Yet, I have not had this experience in NYC or Boston hotels. Nonetheless, it's a lovely hotel -- though a bit rough around the edges.

The most impressive part of our stay was the incredible view of the bay, the Coit Tower, the Transamerica Building and several bridges from our room. Just spectacular! The service was exceptionally pleasant.

Hotel is in the perfect spot for seeing all of the sites of San Francisco. Neiighborhood is quiet on the weekends. Gym is very nice. Breakfast is top notch. Bed was so comfortable i wanted to take it home.

I enjoyed another stay in SF at Le Meridien. Room was clean and comfortable and I once again enjoyed the Lobby Bar and restaurant. I travel by myself and I enjoy the sprots TV and the relaxed atmosphere.

I was surprised for the price of the room that there was no coffee pot and that the towels had no thread left. I feel that when paying over 300 dollars a night these basics should be better quality..

i wish the hotel had mentioned the construction when i booked my reservation. check in was slow and unprofessional. i stay at this hotel frequently and this is a first so I will give it another try.

Strongly encourage anyone to wait until the remodel is done. The lobby is closed and the temporary "front desk" is hidden on the second floor after taking the freight elevator from the ground level.

I actively avoid properties that allow smoking anywhere on the premises, and chose to stay at this property in part because it appeared in the SPG search for smoke-free properties. On the Features page, it states "Experience a fresh approach at this Le Méridien – a completely smoke-free environment." and "100% Non-Smoking Rooms and Facilities."
HOWEVER, on the Announcements page it states the REAL policy, which is "All guest rooms and public spaces in the hotel are now 100% non-smoking. A 250 USD penalty will be charged for smoking in guest rooms. Smoking is permitted on outdoor room balconies and on the Park Grill terrace only." The room balconies is a big deal, because some rooms without balconies do have sliding glass doors to the outside, which allows smoke from adjacent rooms' balconies to waft in. It also creates the potential for guest confusion about whether the room has a "balcony" area. When I checked in, I had one of these rooms and it did smell heavily of smoke.
I e-mailed SPG and asked that they update the Features page to remove the deceptive information about the smoking policy.

It was a wonderful stay and I was pleasantly surprised by my stay. The room was large and comfortable, and beautiful views, great friendly staff. I would come back and stay with my family again.

The room is spacious, clean and comfortable. The location is great as it is a short walk from Ferry Building. We also walked to Union Square, Yerba Buena Garden and North Beach during our stay.

Enjoyed experience.Staff friendly and location is a plus. R'cvd upgrade with minimal payment and view was spectacular. Very comfy beds. Yes parking super expensive but knew that before booking.

The gym was very nice. The only improvement I would recommend is putting coffee makers in room. It is tough for those of us on the east coast to wait until you put it out in the lobby at 5:30.

Front desk staff barely said hello and were not helpful in any way beyond handing me my key. They did not communicate well after an issue went unresolved in my room. Other staff were great.

The rooms are very comfortable and some have wonderful views. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. The music in the lobby and bar is too loud--making it tough to have a conversation.

Good location, with easy access to transportation. Pleasant and helpful staff. Comfortable and clean room. Breakfast was excellent, as was the bar. My husband and I enjoyed our stay.

We were to attend a wedding and needed early check-in to get ready for 4pm ceremony, the hotel front desk went out of their way to clean one room for us for 12:30 pm check-in. Great.

Close to the Embarcadero area and not much else, not a bad place but the other starwoods in this city have much more to offer...

Nice hotel. SHould have a bigger, nicer lobby.
Also, we found the the parking to be cost prohibitive. Way over priced. Food and Beverage were good but service slow.
