Rated 5 out of 5 by MishyK Beautiful hotel in a peaceful setting
This resort is lovely. The rooms are large, beds comfortable, and the restaurants were delicious. My only complaint was our room location, #1401, was far from the pool area and was noisy at night. We could hear loud music from somewhere nearby and then dogs fighting and howling. I would definitely stay here again, but request a better location. I also don't like to have to pay for Internet in the room when we are preferred members.

After a problematic check-in experience, we had a nice stay at LM Chiang Rai. We got to the hotel at the same day and time that the former GM, Justin, left to work at another SPG property in Bangkok. So, things were a bit chaotic.
Thanks to the help of Executive Assistant Manager, K. Chaiporn, we were able to enjoy the rest of our stay. He made sure that we had a nice celebration for our anniversary.
The Grande Deluxe room was very spacious and comfortable. The balcony was great for reading and relaxing in the morning and evening.
Minor issue: air conditioner temperature control problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mimosa Great place for relaxation
Very comfortable room, friendly staffs.
However, I traveled with senior people who have difficulties walking. There is quite a bit of walk from main building to our room, but the scenary is beautiful.

Rated 4 out of 5 by 1Anu1 Beautiful scenic resort - blissful stay despite spot of bother with air con malfunction
The beautiful and scenic grounds cannot be faulted. An oasis of calm greets you on arrival and stays with you during your entire stay. The only thing that blighted our stay was the air conditioning system in our room. First it seemed as if we had checked into an igloo as the freezing temperature simply could not be adjusted despite several attempts by ourselves and staff. Hotel Engineer eventually changed it to a fan mode but this meant the room became warm and humid for the last three days of our stay as we could not manually switch it back to air conditioning mode or change temperature.
However, as we were out and about a lot, we put up with this.
In room internet speed was excellent.
Hot and cold buffet selection at breakfast also tickled the taste buds with food ranging from full English/continental and Asian options. Many varieties of cakes/breads/cereals on offer while there was plenty of fruit and salad options available for the more health conscious. Chefs do not add salt to food freshly cooked on hot counter so you will have to specify them to add this if you want it added during cooking process.
Free shuttle service to local downtown area/mall was also appreciated.
Thanks to the sprawling landscaped grounds, the hotel never seemed crowded and there were plenty of areas to get away for a spot of relaxation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Derek1980 Fantastic hotel
Idyllic location and surrounding, top notch amenities including well equipped gym and "infinity" pool. Staff were friendly and courteous including FOM. Only problem was that it's crawling with insects, management should look into this problem. Although with difficulty considering its a resort sort of property and close to nature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by therabidcow Best hotel in Northern Thailand!
Headed over to the Le Meridien Chiang Rai for a short trip in January. We were at the resort for 4 days/3 nights and it was so brilliant that we decided to stay in most of the time!
We stayed in the Grand Deluxe rooms and we loved it! Situated on its own block at the far end of the resort, it overlooks the pool, river and is just a short hop away from the Pavarti spa. The rooms are brilliantly designed as well!
While we were there, we almost ate exclusively at the hotel - which has a wide range of food options, all being pretty good. The spa is also very good as well with private alcoves and rooms.
All in all - truly five stars!
