Rated 5 out of 5 by Entire staff is world class! From the valet service, front desk and bartenders everyone on staff was welcoming, polite and just plain nice! You can feel that there's a strong service culture alive and well at the Le Meridian in Philadelphia. I'm a Platinum member and stay in over 100 Starwood properties a year. Le Meridian in Philly is truly my most favorite! March 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Under the weather and restful stay My family and I spent the weekend in Philly both for business and pleasure. While at the hotel I came down with a wicked cold! I could not shake it... We did our best to make the most of the city but the Hotel Staff especially Victoria Breen at the Front Desk was amazing! She could not have done enough to make our stay one of the best in a long time. Not only did she remember me from calling in my reservations. She recalled details and made sure that we were as comfortable as possible even offering to have items picked up locally for us to bring to the room. Home and better now but look forward to coming back to the Le Meridian in Philly! thanks Victoria for taking the extra steps for our family! March 24, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hands Down best Center City SPG Property The Le Méridien Philadelphia is the best SPG property in Central Phila, hands down. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean/refurbished and the hotel bar/restuarant has excellent food and a great variety of beer/wine and cocktails. Some bullet points: -Staff goes above and beyond here. I've stayed here often and they always greet me by name and with a "welcome back". I'm on the road for work often and this small gesture goes a long way. -The rooms are modern and clean. Some are on the small side, but that is to be expected in a refurbished historic building. The upgraded rooms offer large space. -The HVAC systems in the room are central (IE, not window units) that are quiet and efficient. -The bar/restaurant downstairs (Amuse) has GREAT food and a good beer/wine/cocktail selection. Not to mention a fabulous happy hour. This is the best SPG Property in Central Phila. If you have a choice, give Le Méridien a shot. You won't be disappointed. March 4, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Just OK There seems to be a need for an upgrade in management of this facility. Room featured remnants of former guest stay - candy sprinkles on the floor, and a stained carpet under the floor lamp. Bed itself very comfortable, and blackout shades were excellent, comforter was a bit thin. They don't tell you at checkin about the complimentary access to the proper gym next door, and also don't acknowledge spg status or any special notation you've put in for room requests on starwood.com. Not much to keep you entertained at this bar vs all others in the city, as they feature zero happy hour, and coffee seems to have always just run out in the lobby in the morning. Hotel in a bit of a shady location, but excellent proximity to City Hall, Masonic Temple, Art Institute, Reading Terminal, Convention Center. February 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing Hotel all around! From the moment we drove up to the hotel the service was high quality. Very polite staff from Valet, Check-In, Bar and Restaurant. The room was perfect for the evening, fully stocked mini bar, large bathroom, comfortable bed and nice view of the city. We will definitely be staying at this hotel again! February 15, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Poor Service I requested a toothbrush be brought up to my room. After almost 45 minutes I called back to check on status. The lady kindly told me it was on its way. After about another 30 minutes I called to check again. Again, the lady at the front desk told me it was on its way. Finally, after almost two hours from my original call, i called again to check on status and the lady told me that they had run out of toothbrushes and would not be able to bring one up to my room. It would have been nice to have known this TWO HOURS before i was waiting for it to be delivered. Not pleased with the service. February 10, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Housekeeping needs to report bath fixture problems After cleaning for the last guest (or perhaps prior to that), housekeeping inexplicably had not reported to management that the knob to switch the bath water from tub to shower was missing, so we were unable to take showers until after an engineer came and manually pulled out the lever with pliers. He said he would look for a knob but never came back or left a message, so we wasted a lot of time and our morning plans were jettisoned. To be fair, James the front office manager, and Molly the concierge did their best to compensate us for the problem, but this should never have happened in the first place at a hotel of this stature. Had this been a weekday and I'd been traveling on business, it would have been even more problematic. Also, there was a well in the leftmost double bed mattress so one ended up rolling toward center; toilet flush flow was insufficient unless you hold down the lever extensively to clear the toilet; blankets for the rollaway were horribly pilled and ratty (like army surplus but worse); there was a hair on one of the fresh washcloths, there were no plastic bags for dirty laundry, only one bar of soap for the bathroom (no soap or shower gel in the shower), and no plug near the mirror in front entry way so one could use a blowdryer there while one's partner is in the shower. (If the mirror didn't fog up I'd have used the bathroom, but the fan was not strong enough.) As others have reported here, there is a significant gap at the bottom of the door to the hallway, so guests returning late at night are audible. Other minor issues: information leaflets in the cloth pocket for guests were badly dog-eared; how expensive can it be to replace paper inserts occasionally to keep them looking fresh, or just have a hard-bound book? Also no pads of note paper anywhere in the room (needed to leave a message for the engineer while we were at breakfast). All in all, though we truly loved the exterior and interior design of the hotel, and thought the staff did their utmost in the situation, in the end we felt the small details left unattended outweighed the positive aspects of the hotel. We will probably stay elsewhere in Philadelphia next time, which is too bad since this hotel has great potential. January 19, 2015
