Rated 5 out of 5 by Impeccably and Unmistakably Meridien OVERALL IMPRESSION: From the moment the gates open on this impressive seaside complex, one gets the impression of being at the fulcrum of Oran’s social life. Chic and elegant surroundings - with a nod to Algerian traditional style - are complimented by an equally elegant and efficient service. SPG RECOGNITION: Upgraded to a beautiful, spacious suite with double balcony and sea view. Lovely in-room amenity. Access to the beautiful Club and a complimentary transfer to the airport on departure. THE ROOM: Unquestionably Meridien-style but with “Arabesque” design elements that gave it a true sense of place. LOCATION: A bit distant from the historic center (not walking distance) but with a direct connection to the adjacent Conference Center next door. Surrounded by beautiful gardens. EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS: Every member of staff I encountered seemed to know my name and made and effort to greet and welcome me. ONE THING TO KNOW: There is a huge Colonial pile in the heart of town for those who require a more central location although I personally looked forward to returning to the relative tranquillity of this self-enclosed resort each evening.
