This was my first stay in Qingdao and my first stay in this hotel. I was on a business trip at the hotel.
Overall my stay was good but some things really need to be improved.
1) Internet Connection was sometimes quite fast (early in the morning or late at night) but during working hours the internet was so slow that working (email) was nearly impossible
2) Breakfast Quality: one day the breakfast buffet was good - the other day not. Also quite big differences could be experienced during my stay. So for example one day the cappuccino tasted strange - I immediately said to the stuff that something must be wrong with the coffee because it tasted very salty - and after 4 cappuccino the staff find out that something was wrong with the milk machine. But why does I have to taste 4 cappuccino until somebody believe me and try to find out what is wrong.
Another example for the breakfast was that the orange juice was empty nearly all the time and that the hot buffet sometimes was cold.
3) the shower in my room (2902) was a little bit mouldy- for a 4-5 star hotel this is not ok.
Also the water from the shower smelled like the water is polluted by algal.

This will be my XXX times stay in Le Merdien Qingdao and I always remember when my first time check into this hotel on 2010, the hotel lobby was very dark and the Front desk was seated on the check in counter and read news paper with potato chips on hand, the rooms was not really make up to the required standard, i do not feel any SPG guest welcome atmosphere at all.
Today I am always glad to return to this hotel and I knew that the service standard of Le Meriden Qingdao has been lifted up to the top level.
I has been stay in Le Merdien hotel on many Asia country and this is the only Le Meriden hotel that I feel the SPG spirit and moment when you step into this hotel.
The room are always ready in the conditions that you has been request on earlier trip and two type of firm pillow are prepared on the bed for selection, the room attendance truly take note on my request for additional body lotions, a warm welcome note by the room attendance on the table, the Front office , Restaurant servers, lounge staff are able to recognized the regular return guest and that make me feel the most warmest welcome.
I am very sure that Le Merdiden Qingdao has been demonstrate to the world that China hotel are able provide top notched quality services and the rest of the China SPG hotel should look into the success of the Le Meriden Qingdao.
Thank you for the teams in Le Meriden Qingdao and I will definitely back again to this hotel and introduce for all my guest, business partners and friends.

Each water's quantity is quite different from another one.
Two bottles of water are new
I cannot believe my eyes.
During my business trip, I can not drink water
and I could not believe SPG hotel's food and service

Business trip in Qingdao,Le Meridien is my first choice. The stuff there provides the best service, especially the staffs in the club louge.It is about last year in winter, I got a catch, didn’t feel well, after the girl named Maggie zhao known that,she provide me a bottle of lemon water,which was make by herself,it comfort me a lot.If I have a choice to go to Qindao,I will thank her in person.Love Qingdao,love Le Meridien.It gives me a feeling like home.

I was check in Le Meriden Qingdao from 8 March to 13 March.
I will like to thank you for the finest hospitality standard that provide by the staff from front office to housekeeping and I am surprised that many of them are able to recognize me and said Hi to me.
Again Le Meriden Qingdao has impressed me and surpasses their previous service standard.
I would like to specially make a remarks on the room attendance name YANG FANG FANG who has make up my room during my stay and she is very detail and noted on the guest requirement based on the observation during her housekeeping duty and she noticed that I used more than 3 bottle of the body cream and she is refuse it with more on next day and she arrange and organized all my wear clothing as well as the items I remove out from my luggage.
She leave a card and informed me on what she has does and I really impress that I can seen this level of service quality in China and this is really better than many SPG hotel that I stay in Asia such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan etc.
The hotel also prepare all the hard pillow that i used to request before my arrival.
I will like to personally give her a SPG thank you card on my next visit in coming April.
Once again thank you for the hospitality service that provided during my stay.

Visited Qingdao for work. Solid hotel, well maintained, nice facilities.
Nicely equipped gym (standard hotel size)
Large variety breakfast buffet (western / eastern)
Unfriendly / Missing Staff - Doorman was rude / not present. Maid left awkward note.
Unable to control climate in room - Thermostat is non-functional. Must have hotel open windows to cool off room in Winter.
