I am a business user and need to often stay in Coimbatore. Some issues that I have faced regularly at Le Meridien in Coimbatore include:
1. Booking a cab and getting it right on time - Has never happened. With the high charge they levy for a short ride to airport, it is quite unbelievable how they ensure that cabs are never on time.
2. Check out time - of all hotels that I have stayed in, I have never seen such a slow check out process. I would recommend the hotel to benchmark their check out time against others.
Apart from this, the general customer responsiveness is extremely slow. I would like to quote an example:
Before the check out process began, I requested the front desk executive (FDE) to get me a notebook that I had missed in my room. I found him requesting his colleague to do it only by the end of the already INCREDIBLY LONG check out process. I waited for another 5 odd minutes - but no response. Then I again asked the FDE about it and he says that my room was in 'DND' (I had missed keeping it on) and hence he did not enter - I get this information only after asking him why it is taking so long despite me standing right there. Even though I told him he can enter, I had to finally take an entry card myself and go get my notebook.
The only 2 positives about the hotel are: Proximity to airport, and large comfortable rooms. But poor customer service ruins it all.

I stayed at the hotel from 10th to 14th Jan 2016 and I am writing this to inform of the extreme discomfort the staff have caused me by billing my hotel charges in Singapore dollars rather than India Rupees. I wonder if the person who charged me is paying attention to me or not?? I said no less than 3 times on check out that I wanted to be charged in Indian Rupees and he said no problem and end up I still get charged in Singapore dollars. This is my second stay at a Le Meridien hotel in India and both times, I get charged in Singapore dollars even though I explicitly say I want to be charged otherwise! It makes me wonder if I should change my hotel chain for my next visit! There were a couple of things I was satisfied with but all these were flushed down the drain with one silly mistake.

Good class hotel; big enough rooms with nice and comfortable bed; mini bar well equipped; Internet rather slow; breakfast nice with good Quality food as well as presentation; nice restaurants and a very good bar with great liquor selection. pool area needs upgrading as well as the spa. missing sun umbrellas near sun beds. generally impressiv hotel outfit but mostly with poor finish. hotel is 10min. drive away from airport.

After my stay in International Hotel Chains offering excellent hotel facilities in many parts of the world, my stay in Le Meridian, in Coimbatore, is a pleasant surprise. The ambiance is uplifting and bright but very relaxing. All the corridors receive nicely diffused daylight due to a well-designed modern structure which includes a beautifully landscaped swimming pool on a roof top. The dining area is spacious with tables placed well apart. The room we stayed had ceiling to floor glass with double curtains and the bath was fitted with beautifully accented fittings with a rain shower that worked very nicely. The bed was fresh and comfortable.
My wife loved the Kashmiri Boutique in the lobby which displayed hard to find precious stone handicrafts and woolen shawls.
Would love to stay again!
Me and my wife are Platinum Elite Members in two major international five star hotel chains for more than twenty years.

Upon checkin..there was food on the blanket...room phone is not charging so I missed a call...candle wax all over the bathtub and not cleaned up...hair in the bathroom sink.
Hotel is not near anything so dont plan on a leisurely stroll for some local flavor...not too impressed at this point.
Close to the airport..has a pool and gym...tthats about the only plusses.
