Rated 4 out of 5 by Jean12 Weekend stay October
Overall this hotel met my needs for a weekend visit to the Washington DC area. Close to everything.
However, Small things need to be addressed, for instance the amenities in the bathroom. no shower cap. The phones in the hotel room were dusty and sticky.
I am still trying to figure out why I was put into a handicap room when I am not handicaped.
Also just a note, when a guest ask where to have a nice fun dinner that is hip, please make sure your employees send them to a trendy restaruant. I understand to some of the younger employees I might look like a senior Citz but not quite there yet! The dinner was good but I think I was the youngest in the rest.

As promised in my review on September 9th, 2012 – I am posting a much more detailed review. My opinion has not changed of the Arlington Le Meridien. The location, design, accommodation’s and staff were top notch. Heather greeted me upon arrival – who recognized me from my previous stay. She presented a very professional and genuine interest in my stay and me. I was upgraded to an Executive King room due to my gold status. My bags were directed up to my room promptly. The room was facing Rosslyn this time. The room included a sitting area and Elliptical exercise machine. The room itself was very clean, bright and comfortable. The room was situated behind the elevators, however they could barely be heard. It did not disrupt my sleep at all.
Every morning coffee is served in the “Living room”. I did sample the coffee and it was tasty. The coffee was sourced from non-traditional brands and proved very tasty. During the evening there is a wine reception at night. The hotel provided plenty of opportunity to be social throughout the day. The main area is designed for pockets of privacy as well as larger gathering for groups.
The second day of my stay I realized that I did not bring my charger for my laptop. Allen found a compatible charger for me within fifteen minutes. His prompt action was impressive and appreciated.
I spent a great deal of time at the Amuse – which is the restaurant and bar servicing the hotel. I ate breakfast every morning except one during my stay. I also sampled the fare during the evenings and dinner depending on my schedule for the day. Salam served me most times who is very attentive. Douglas at the bar proved to be a great asset as he introduced me unexpectedly to a business colleague, which proved to be significant for my trip. Ekatrina and Justin recognized me and greeted me warmly and openly upon my arrival to the Amuse. One evening my party enjoyed beverages and a light dinner on the terrace where Yodit provided great service. The hotel has recently updated the terrace furniture, which is expansive and comfortable. The terrace has a great view of Georgetown. The only hiccup was the introduction of a new menu during my stay, which was more confusing for the staff than me. The restaurant’s food is well prepared and sufficiently portioned. I did not have a bad meal during my stay.
Most times I forgo the room cleaning as a green choice, however midweek I opted for service. I had left for the day with the expectation that my room would be clean, however it had been marked as “green” for the day. I called and asked for service while I met with a client. Upon my arrival back to the room, there was an army of staff. I met Dezzy who was the team lead for the staff. The room was impeccably clean after they had left. It is my understanding that they are continuing to improve the rooms with new beds and slight changes to the rooms.
My overall opinion is that the hotel accommodations are outstanding at this property. What makes the stay here shine is the staff. I have no hesitancy in recommending this hotel to colleagues and staff. Again, thank you Le Meridian Arlington.

This hotel was a beautiful oasis in the middle of the busy city. Our room was on the top floor and had a great view of Georgetown-we could even see how the traffic was on the bridge so we could know how long to allow for our drive. Nice distance to Georgetown, just a walk across the bridge to lots of restaurants and shops. Also just a couple minutes from the metro station. In general, the staff was very helpful, although some of the staff was new and underqualified. The business center needs attention, one of the computers and the printer did not work. It was a nice surprise to have delicious coffee and a fireplace in the lobby in the morning. I would definitely stay here again.

Rated 5 out of 5 The Best Customer Care from Any Hotel
It was NYE and all their suites were sold out on the SPG web site. I booked the nicest room I could and received an email from William noting SPG status and asking if I had any requests. This was not a form email so I responded. I asked if there were upgrades to a suite for NYE. I don't know how he managed it but he responded and confirmed the upgrade. NYE was soo much more fun with a separate living room for friends to pregame in before heading to the club so would like to say THANK YOU so much!
We got drinks and dinner here and the interior of the hotel and color pallete of the rooms is very nice.

I highly recommend this hotel. I stayed here with my family over the Easter weekend. Upon check I was greeted by a team of friendly faces, all trying to make my stay as pleasant as possible. Upon recognizing my Gold status I was upgraded to an ambassador suite. That was a nice surprise. Mike the concierge/ bellman went out of his way to accommodate me by looking into tours and activities for me. The food was also outstanding. Everyone of my family members had something good to say about it. The location of the hotel is also a big winner. A Starbucks and Cosi's are right across the street. It is also an easy walk to G town. Don't pass on this hotel if you are staying in Washington DC.

This hotel exceeded all our expectations. it was quiet, clean and conveniently located. Our room was on the 12th floor with a spectacular view facing the river and Georgetown. It was very quiet and well-appointed with modern furnishings and facilities. The beds were very comfortable (we had 2 queen-sized beds) and even though we had 4 people staying in the room, we didn't feel cramped. Housekeeping was quick to respond to our need for extra towels; they arrived within 10 minutes bringing more than requested. We especially liked the location. About one mile from Georgetown, we easily walked across the Key bridge, despite pushing a wheelchair, to shop and dine. We would definitely stay here again.

I spent the past three nights at the Le Meriden Arlington ... in a corner room on the 7th floor. The room was a bit tight, but very quiet (the way I like it) and comfortable. Most importantly, the staff (special shout out to Tee and James) raised the overall experience to a higher level. In fact, after the first night, the hotel started to feel like a "home away from home!" Others in my group from the University of Virginia felt the same way. It was also nice to be served a glass of complimentary wine from the hotel's General Manager! I look forward to my next stay.

Unfortunately I had a mediocre stay at this hotel. I was trying out this hotel as a new place to stay for business. Upon checking in, the receptionist thanked me for being platinum, but that was the end of any kind of treatment. No room upgrade which is fine for me. But I called down to have a room service menu delivered so that I could order from Amuse. 30 minutes later, I had to call again as it still wasn't delivered. It showed up 20 minutes later. I called downstairs repeatedly to ask the front desk for a phone charger. No one answered so I walked down there to ask for one. Phone was ringing off the hook and there was no one there. Finally found someone, asked for a charger, and was promised that it would be sent immediately to my room. Over an hour later, it showed up after I had already gone to sleep. To top it off, despite acknowledging my platinum status , the hotel charged me for Internet and removed the charges only after I pointed out my status. Unfortunate as I expect more out of Starwood hotels and because I especially like the Le Meridien brand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Helodriver Other than parking a great hotel!
Very pleased with all functions of the hotel! Parking for the first time visitor is confusing to say the least. Signage in the garage is not helpful, and nowhere does it specifically tell you where to park if you are staying at the LeMeridien! Instructions tell you to pay for your parking at the vending machine. The machine took my ticket and then quit working. Eventually a garage worker showed up and eventually said I would have to pay at the gate. At the gate the person there had a POOR grasp of English, both spoken and ability to comprehend! I suspect the hotel does not own the garage, however, it would be nice if they could work with the owners and fix the problems. In spite of the hassle I will return to the hotel.

After receiving our final bill, an additional charge showed up on my credit card for nearly $50 for the mini-bar, which we did not use. I have never had that kind of thing happen to me at any hotel and I am appalled. I requested the hotel remove the charge and also called SPG. While I'm certain it will be removed, I simply don't think I should need to be on the lookout for fraud from a Starwood property. I understand this property was recently converted from another chain and wonder if it simply isn't up to par. I do not recommend staying here.

Front desk guy at check in was exceptional, others very nice but did not speak english well and difficult to communicate. Couch had several stains that we washed off ourselves to sit, asked for turndown and noone knew what that was, about 25 to 30% of the room service entres we unavailable and they ran out of bottled water. How do you run out of that. One dinner ok, others barely ok and french fries were litterally as hard as potato sticks in a can. Couldn't even eat them. Bed not very comfortable. Very bad experience and will not stay again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by cdo818 Great Location, Great Price, Great Hotel!
The only complaints I have were:
-The parking for the hotel. It was a little confusing to find, but once I called, the staff kindly guided me in the right direction.
-Another small complaint was the free breakfast that I was given as a Platinum member. The staff didn't inform me before we had gotten the hot breakfast food that only the cold items were complimentary. They still apologized and were nice about it and gave us half off though!
The room was clean and modern, and the staff was extremely nice. I got a free upgrade to a suite, and that was awesome!!
The hotel is not in the heart of DC, but it was still very easy to get where we needed to go. The Metro was only a couple blocks away. I will come back here if I make a trip back to DC!

I decided to stay at this hotel due to the fact that it's centric to the DC area. Being a SPG member I've been told great things about this franchise. The day I arrived to the hotel for check-in, it was late, about 6:30pm. I had traveled for 6 hours with my wife and a two year old boy, everybody was exhausted. I had taken all the money I planned to spend in cash, since the hotel room was already paid for in advance this appeared to be an practical idea. The female in the counter told me that I could not check in because the card declined the $300 they needed to hold for incidentals. I went downsatirs and try to find a bank that would take my deposit, since I had it all in cash, but could not find any in the vecinity. It was 7:45 and my kid and wife were tired from the long day, so I told the lady in the counter to contact the manager for me so that I could explain the situation and she did. I explained the situation to the manager, that I had the cash on me, that the room was paid for, that my bank wasn't open until the next day, that I was a hotel member, and that most important that I had a little kid that needed to rest. He told me that he was sorry but he could not do anything for me, and when I told him that if he rather had me go to another hotel he said tha he could not do anything else for me. THE ROOM WAS ALREADY PAID FOR, ITS THIS THE SERVICE AN SPG MEMBER, AN STARWOOD PROPERTY OWNER GETS!!!! AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ABOUT THE FACT THAT MY LITTLE KID ALMOST FALL AT SLEEP IN THE LOBBY. It wasn't a free service and I understand the policy but accomodations could've been done. I'm having strong toughts of leaving this program and spreding the word about the service that they provide to their members.

I stayed there for the weekend. The room was ok, and I got upgraded to an executive room as a Platinum member. However, the front desk was terrible. It just so happens I had to go there 4-5 times
during my stay, and every time when I go there, there was only one person at the front desk. Sometimes I saw another person in the backroom, but only one in the front. Every time I had to wait a while to get to talk to someone, and when I checked out, I waited more than 30 minutes !!
I called the service desk a few times as well, and twice of which, no one answered my call.
The location was great, just across bridge from DC, very easy to get in and out. Parking was very cheap for the weekend, only $5 per night if you choose to self park.
No lounge for Platinum members, no club floor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by geomac Attentive Staff and Great Location
The staff at Le Meridien in Rosslyn do a good job at making sure that you are comfortable. From check-in to directions around DC, they work hard to make sure that guests are comfortable. The facility is great, and has a really nice gym for guests. Secure location right next to the Metro for easy transportation around town. The restaurant needs some staff training though, as the group there does a mediocre job at times. Each time that I went to the restaurant, I had to walk in because there was no one to greet me at the Host station with is inside the bar. Perhaps it should be moved? The table service needs polish as well. I had to ask for a spoon each time I visited, and the staff was not attentive to my table after my food had been served. Overall, good place to stay and eat.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Doc55 Does Not Feel or Look Like a Hotel, But Near Metro and DC
First, would not want to try and find this place at night. That said, no matter how you slice and dice it, what a peculiar location -- (between the 4th and 12th floors of a private building) -- very incognito. Kudos however to Mohammad who was handling a major problem (no hot water service) upon our arrival, but remained totally attentive and helpful despite and in between endless angry phone calls. Also special thanks to Rashid who's hustle and friendliness made breakfast a truly "Amuse"ing experience!

I just recently realized that this hotel was part of SPG and it will now become my first choice when traveling to DC. Location is excellent. A short walk to the Roslyn metro station. And you can also walk across the Key Bridge to Georgetown.
Compared to other properties in Roslyn and DC, the Meridien represents a great value. I got upgraded to a very nicely appointed suite overlooking the river and Georgetown. Room was very large and comfortable.
Staff at check-in were great. My room was not ready but I needed to do a conference call and they found me a conference room to use. But just before my call started my room was ready! Perfect timing. So they have a great customer service attitutide.
I would highly recommend this property for its convenient location and value relative to DC.

I was checked in by James who recognized my Platinum status. His attitude is upbeat and positive. My room was situated away from the elevators and quiet. During my stay I was an attendee at a formal event. I sent my tux to be cleaned and when it was returned, my self tie bow-tie was missing. I notified the front desk and Tee made it clear that they would ensure I had a tie before my event. They delivered a tie to my room the same day. Allen, Tee and James at the front desk are wonderful staff members who take care of their guests. I will continue to stay at this location due to the friendliness of the staff, the accommodations and the above standards for food and beverages. Doug at the Amuse and his staff always provide excellent service at the Amuse. I cannot recommend this property highly enough.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Guest310 great room, disappointing service
The hotel itself is great: well designed, nice artwork, well-appointed rooms. However, the service left something to be desired from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. We stayed at the hotel for a wedding...we arrived as the bride was checking in and they had lost (or couldn't find) one of the three rooms she had booked. We weren't greeted or told that we would be helped shortly....just stood there waiting. Once we were finally checked in we went to our room which was perfect for the short stay. The other main service issue was the parking. We parked in the hotel's garage. Each and every time we had to move the car it was a nightmare, having to check with numerous valets as to the whereabouts of the vehicle. Overall, we were incredibly underwhelmed by the helpfulness of the staff and the service we received.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Liten Great Staff
The location is good and accommodations attractive and comfortable. It has a well-equipped fitness center, especially for the size hotel it is, although it does not have a pool. The bar and restaurant are attractive with the ability to sit inside or out, weather permitting, but the menu selection is somewhat limited. However, the best feature of the Hotel is the staff. They express a strong desire to meet guests' needs and make their stays enjoyable.

It was very difficult to find the Hotel which is in the same building as a apartment complex. You have to go to the 4th. floor to check in, I had to wait 15 minutes for a Bellman to help with my luggage at 1PM. It was not busy just no one there. The communication between the front desk and the parking garage was difficult. When you ask for a cab they PUSH a in-house car which charges about twice as much. The room was very clean and comfortable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Liten Not as expected
The hotel facilities were lovely, but it was understaffed. From arrival where one person was acting as bell person and door person, handling luggage and hailing cabs, to departure where only one person was handling the Front Desk and acting as operator, service was lacking. It was extremely difficult to reach staff by phone. When we did have contact with staff they were very accommodating, just not enough of them to provide good service.

When I first check in the TV wasn't working properly, the technician came and told me that tv channels are working fine just the on demand and cable are not, and told me not to watch on demand in my stay! -so he won't fix it! Then he told me it would take a long time! He wouldn't change the receiver! He strengths the signal it worked for a day and it's broken again!
I ordered room service, after 45 I called back they told me they were busy it would take them another 15 min if I still want it!!
I ordered room service again today and waited for an hour when I called back they told me that the kitchen is empty! And wanted to call me back but did not have my room number!! Although yesterday when I ordered they told me the room number!! I guess they just decided to lie coz they forget! How can a hotel have a 24 hrs room service run out of food!! And very very bad staff. Very.

We were very disappointed in the hotel. From empty beer cans our little girls found under the bed. A DVD player that didn't work. A closed restaurant. A rolling bar that didn't take credit cards or let us charge drinks to room. The only highlight was the very nice man who drives the Suburban and dropped us in Georgetown. In a city with tons of hotel options, this is not the one!

Rated 4 out of 5 by JPaul62 Nice hotel, great location, good price
I was surprised to find a Le Meridien for the price I did but I am glad I did. The location is great with lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance including Chipotle, Cosi, frozen yogurt etc. You have to take an elevator to the lobby which was inconvenient but the elevators and lobby were exquisitely decorated. The rooms were equally nice and the view of Georgetown is unbeatable. The man who greeted me was very nice and recognized my status but when checking out, the only people at the front desk (at 1pm) seemed to two cleaning ladies whose English was fine but clearly not the role of a normal person at the front desk. The woman who attended to my checkout didn't mention my status or that I had opted for not changing the sheets for extra SPG points which made me wary or even ask if I wanted a copy of the folio, I had to ask. Other than that experience and having to take two elevators to the rooms, it was a wonderful stay, I will surely return.

This hotel is in a great location across the bridge from Georgetown shopping district. You're only a short walk to the Washington, DC metro and a short cab ride to the famous Georgetown cupcakes shop. The front desk staff, supervisors and management go above and beyond the call of duty to make you feel like a celebrity!! Thank you!!!!

After searching for deals on Priceline and Hotwire, I gave up frustrated by the time spent not knowing what I was going to get. So, I stumbled upon the Starwoods website and they were so helpful finding a hotel that met my criteria. I was traveling to sight-see with my two children and wanted a hotel outside of Washington DC so that I wouldn't have to drive in and about the city. I needed a nearby Metro station and nearby choices of restaurants in a safe environment. The Starwoods employee suggested the LeMeridien and found a great rate for one night. We enjoyed the hotel, the friendly staff and the location so much that we stayed an extra night. We've decided to make this home base for all future trips to the area. Prior to having children, I traveled frequently in my position as a corporate event planner. I can honestly say that this hotel and the service-level was on par with some of the finest hotels I've visited. Thank you for the great experience!

Rated 3 out of 5 by TTW2 Nice Hotel but Major Mistake Made & No Hot Water
The location, decor and amenities were perfect for the purpose of my stay (personal). However, I had a major room & billing issue. I was checked in under an incorrect name and my credit card was used to pay for another guest's reservation. Though my reservation was prepaid, I was hit with a $1300+ bill that was charged to my credit card.
I understand that mistakes happen. However, I checked with the front desk 3 times before checking out (after receiving several alerts from my credit card company) and was assured that this wouldn't happen, (even though I said I knew it would). Because of the timing within my billing cycle, I will have to pay this bill to avoid late fees. I have spoken to the hotel staff. As of 2 days later, the credit has yet to appear on my account.
Lastly, every time I took a shower, the water was either cold or luke warm. I thought it was the time of day but it never got better. When I did have hot water, it lasted no more than 30 seconds.
