Family Plan Policy

Children who are 12 or younger sleep for free in the existing bedding of a room shared with a paying adult. The use of in-room sofa beds is considered additional bedding and will incur an additional fee. Rollaways, child rollaways and cribs may incur extra charges.

Whether enjoying a sun-drenched lunch on the outdoor terrace, or a candle-lit dinner in the sumptuous indoor dining room, the award-winning Restaurant Terrazza Danieli never fails to delight. Boasting the most spectacular views of the “Serenissima”—a magnificent panorama of the Venice Lagoon, the famed Island of San Giorgio, and the tributary of the Grand Canal as it flows into Saint Mark’s basin—the restaurant transports guests back to the heydey of Venice’s influential position as Europe’s crossroads between East and West.

Under the auspices of Executive Chef Gian Nicola Colucci, the restaurant serves a masterful menu inspired by Marco Polo’s voyages to the Orient. The result is a fascinating journey marrying the exotic and the local, the eastern influences perfectly balanced with Mediterranean flavours. Based on Chef’s Colucci’s passion for seasonal food, the menu changes every three months, dictated by the availability of the freshest local ingredients. The definitive Italian influences emerge in local seafood, meat, and pasta dishes, yet are also infused with exotic spices and textures from Asia, India and the Middle East. Alongside the seasonal menu, Chef Colucci also delights his guests with special menus to celebrate local arts exhibits, the spectacular Carnivale, and traditional Venetian festivals such as the Redentore.

The outdoor patio—open in early May until late October—serves patrons breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a charming al fresco setting. Wrought iron chairs with ivory white cushions create a lovely backdrop for the watery spectacle of the lagoon. The whole terrace is transformed at sunset—bathed in the pink light of the changing sky. At night, guests can see the twinkle of stars reflected in the lagoon's ink-blue surface.

Inside, an abundance of red velvet pays its homage to the century-old tradition of the Venetian Doge. Long Murano mirrors hang aside intricate classical wall panels, reflecting the candles and fiori freschi found on every table. Hand blown water tumblers, enveloped in a swirl of red glass, add a note of whimsy to the elegance.

The exceptional wine list offers a wide selection of vintages from around the world, with an emphasis on Italian wineries. Special tastings with local vintners are de rigueur—affording guests a rare taste of Italian terroirs.

Restaurant Terrazza Danieli is located on the top floor of our Palazzo Danieli Excelsior with a panoramic view of the lagoon, islands, and the Grand Canal. Enjoy classic Venetian proposals to tastings of the Mediterranean and the Far East. Outdoor dining on the panoramic terrace is available from May to October. Breakfast is served at Restaurant Terrazza Danieli and outdoors on the restaurant’s terrace from May to September, weather permitting. Reservations are recommended.
