Our concierge desk suggests the following as unique places to explore in the Addis Ababa area:

  • National Archeological Museum: this museum incorporates the oldest hominid skeleton of Lucy, traditional and ceremonial costumes, jewelry, art works, paintings, sculptures, and various archeological findings. Opening Hours: 8:30am – 5:30pm from Monday to Sunday. 12:30pm – 1:30pm closed for lunch. Entrance fee: 10 Birr.
  • St. Mary Tsion Museum: the museum is within the church which was built in 1885. Mount Entoto is an ideal place to observe the panoramic view of Addis Ababa. The museum incorporates articles of great quality and historical significance. Opening Hours: 9am – 1pm and 2:30pm - 5:30pm Monday through Sunday. Entrance fee: 30 Birr.
  • International Organizations:
    - African Union: Organization of African Union was established in 1963 as OAU and gave its birth to African Union (AU) in 2004. It’s a 10-minute drive from the hotel.
    - UN Head Quarter: UNECA (United Nations Economic Commission for Africa) is located a mere 5-minute drive from the hotel.
  • Mercato (Grand Market): the biggest open air market in Africa where all kinds of local and imported goods are available. It’s a 10-minute drive from the hotel.
  • Shiromeda: the place where Ethiopian traditional garments are produced and sold. It’s a 10-minute drive from the hotel.
