Rated 5 out of 5 by Fabulous luxury A very luxurious hotel right in the heart of Athens. The rooms are fabulously appointed with great marble bathrooms. The rooftop restaurant has the most incredible breakfast buffet, not to mention views of the Parthenon. August 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent staff, property, location My second stay at the Grande Bretagne, and I wouldn't stay anywhere else. From check in to departure, the level of service is superb. Cocktails on the terrace looking out at the Acropolis, an after noon swim in rooftop pool, and convenience to Athens center all highlights. However, I save special recognition to Aristotle, the Concierge, who always has the time and grace to assist a guest. August 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Feel like a Queen or King The heavenly beds help give you heavenly sleep and all the amenities, features & the staff make me feel pampered. I always love relaxing there and soaking it all in. It's such a beautiful experience that I don't even want to go out of the Hotel when I am there. It's a vacation within a vacation. August 20, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Terrible Front Desk When my husband and I checked into this hotel on May 23rd, 2013, the front desk refused to honor our reservation for a deluxe double courtyard room, even though we showed them our confirmed reservation. They insisted we take a noisy street room that we did not want at all. I am a handicapped person, who can barely walk, but the front desk made us walk all over the hotel looking at alternative rooms to our reservation. WHAT a TERRIBLE front desk, and, I would suggest you do not stay here. On top of this, we wrote a letter to the hotel director about our treatment and he never answered it, though he was in the hotel on Saturday the 25th when we left. This hotel is run arrogantly and badly. June 8, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Location very good Found the room very small. Excellent staff and service. August 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Exceeded Expectations I stayed in the Grand Bretagne about 10 years ago, before the renovation. What a difference!! This hotel now meets or exceeds standards at all of the finest hotels in the world (St. Regis, Savoy, George V, etc.) We stayed on the butler level, in a beautiful room with a balcony overlooking Syntagma Square and the Acropolis. The new rooftop pool was great for the kids. The service was impeccable. The rooftop restaurant is excellent. It is tempting to spend your entire visit to Athens in the hotel! We will stay here again without question. August 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Steve from Tauck I just want to say "Thank you" to the entire staff at the GB. The entire Team is remarkable. I speak of the Doormen, the Concierge, the Front Desk, Housekeeping, Spa team, all the F&B team regardless if you're in the back or front of the house, Sales and Management. (If I have accidentally left someone out, I apologize.). The hotel has such heart and character. It is a delight each time I am lucky enough to sleep at the hotel. I'm looking forward to my next arrival on the 24th! Sadly it will be my last time of 2014. August 13, 2014
