As far as the Resort goes, it was great! Clean, comfy rooms with an excelant staff. My husband and I are in our late 20's and felt a little out of place at first. The guest were mostly 50 and up males, but the saff made us feel VERY welcomed. The local area was nice to drive around, all though a little quite for my taste. The views were great in every direction though. I induldged in the spa and was very happy with the service. My husband wants to go back with "the guys" some day to go golfing.
Thank you Turnberry for a lovely stay.

Hotel needs to be updated. Room was tiny. no place to put cloths other than closet hang. Room door hits nightstand. TV did not work and was reported. No air, even with windows open as much as poss, room was very warm. Not even summer yet.
View of a roof. Charged for internet when told it was included. Was asked about newspaper preference at check-in. Assumed a free paper. Never saw one in 4 nights but $2.50 a day was billed on my folio. could not get ANY food after 11pm. Golf was the only true positive about this stay. I booked 37 rooms for group, many had complaints. One lodge had no hot water for entire stay. hotel never could fix the problem.

The Turnberry resort is a wonderful property and staying there was a privilege. My son and I played both golf courses and were thrilled with this experience. We came to play golf. That being said, we were placed in the Spa building which was not in the classic hotel. It was a long walk with lots of steps. We were not told this at check in and so we hauled our bags to the room. We could have parked right in front of the Spa making bag handling much easier. As a Gold SPG member, I would have expected an upgraded room or at least lodging in the main Turnberry building.

From reception to check out we were treated with great warmth and hospitality. The rooms were very elegant and comfortable and the hotel as a whole has great charm.

I stayed in a classic double ocean view room and felt the room to be in need of refurbishment and modernisation. Bathroom was very old fashioned with small bath and shower. No toiletries were there on arrival and had to be asked for. Room was not up to standard of any other 5 star hotel we have stayed in. Food and service however was excellent, especially selection of food at beakfast. Spa was very tired looking and very much in need of refurbishment to bring it up to date with other 5 star hotels. Check in and check out were slow and we had to find our own way to the room which was not easy!

Turnberry hotel and golf facilities are 5 star but my reasons for marking down slightly were for the small touches that normally one would expect from such an establishment. As an example on arrival we decided to have a light bite before playing the Ailsa course. We ordered 2 lemon chicken wraps and a toasted sandwich and that's what we got but they were pretty underwhelming when you consider the wraps were £11 each. I then arranged for my car to be washed for £20 , I needed to collect my glasses and I was horrified to see mud in the foot wells and a very shabby clean of the car itself. The room was large and spacious but my tea bags were not replaced in fact nor was water or shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom. It's little things but they are the sort of things you hope would not occur. All said we had fun and I would return in the future

Rated 4 out of 5 by SLG2 Great location - fantastic views
Resort and golf courses were great with very good and friendly service. Unfortunately, upon arrival our room was missing a light bulb, had a minibar fridge that did not work, a window that did not close, and the heater did not work (which was rather difficult when it was near freezing outside). It took 2 days to get a space heater, after which the room was tolerable. Housekeeping each day was very minimal, however, no straightening and did not provide new toiletries. Overall, fantastic location however - great food and wonderful views of the water and golf courses.
