Rated 5 out of 5 by JustaNickname Lovely Spot Near Dupont Circle
A very cozy, comfortable hotel just blocks away from Dupont Circle, right on Embassy Row. Excellent restaurants nearby and easy access to metro. The hotel bar has a nice feel with fireplace and nice wood decoration. The lobby is too small -- the second lobby (shown on the website) is off to the side and should be better used by the hotel. The gym was small but satisfactory. The room was very small, but well appointed with excellent features. A very solid choice for Washington DC.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dragon11 A favorite place but some slippage
The Fairfax at Embassy Row has been our favorite hotel in Washington. This visit we experienced some slippage in the standards--small things to be sure but important to the quality of the stay. For example: no sugar, napkins or stirrers with the in-room coffee, no bath mat, no acknowledgement that we had requested a specific room when we made the reservation. We will definitely return and hope that this was an unusual experience perhaps related to the Thanksgiving holiday staffing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GAK123 Great location and staff
This was our 3rd stay at this hotel and, as expected, it was again excellant. The location near the Dupont Circle Metro Station makes it easy to explore all Washington has to offer. I would like to specifically mention Rama, who greated me with a big smile, bright and early every morning. Keep up the good work.

Rated 3 out of 5 by JSB522 Charged me for Wifi, even though I am SPG Gold
The hotel charged me for Wifi access during my stay, even though I am SPG Gold. I called the front desk a few days after my stay, and they assured me that the charge would be refunded to my credit card. More than two weeks later, they have not refunded anything to me. Their telephone customer service is awful -- nobody wants to help; they only want to pass the buck to someone else.
I spoke with Ken Adams in accounting this morning. Let's see if he actually follows through and resolves this issue.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MC25 This hotel does not qualify to be Luxury Collection
Given the limited facilities and amenities, and compared to other Luxury Collection hotels I have stayed, this hotel does not live up to the level of Luxury Standard. There was no Executive Lounge and the room was too small. And there is no afternoon tea or cocktail hour. I was very disappointed that I did not get upgraded to a suite with my Suite Awards, or to a larger room. The room assigned to me was very small.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jimmy A wonderful historical hotel
We got upgraded to a suite via suite night awards. The suite was very spacious, and very well kept and clean.
The location of the hotel was great: two blocks away from Dupont Circle subway station that can get you around easily; lots of great restaurants within 2-3 blocks radius. Many convenient choices such as CVS and Starbucks around too.
The front desk and concierge desk staff are very helpful. The doorman and bellman were really helpful as well.
This is a Luxury Collection hotel, so it does come with more expensive itemized costs such as parking and breakfast. So I recommend that you either book a package that covers these charges or come without a car (do the subway).
I highly recommend this hotel.
