Rated 5 out of 5 by I CANNOT WAIT TO COME BACK!! This hotel met my expectations and more!! It was one of the most luxurious hotels I have ever stayed in!! My family enjoyed the room, the amenities as well as the views. The staff was awesome. The concierge John was a delightful, informative, and just plain old nice. I can't wait to come back for a weekend with just the husband, the girls or just by myself. This will be the only hotel I would prefer to stay in when I visit the Capital. April 8, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Room not ready Check-in is at 3pm. When we arrived closer to 4pm (after driving for five hours in the rain), the front desk informed us our room was not ready because of a guest's late check-out and that housekeeping was working on it. It was not until closer to 5pm that we were given a room, and only after approaching the front desk two more times for updates. We were subsequently late for our first engagement because of the delay. Most hotels have no problem denying late check-outs if the rooms are booked. I guess that is not something that the Fairfax management considers. Other than the check-in process, the room was spacious and met expectations. The room service staff were extremely courteous. Too bad an otherwise lovely birthday celebration had to start out with aggravation. March 22, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Fraudulent Activity on my CC I have been a SPG member since 1999 and as Platinum member I prefer to stay at SPG property locations as much as I can. The problem I did have with this location was that, DC is home to my residence however during my birthday I wanted to spend the weekend at this location as a special occasion. First of all I was booked on the parking rate of AAA and nothing was mentioned or my parking privileges were not even mentioned when I was at check/in nevertheless the other issue that I was not even offered special upgrade for my special occasion needles to say even to offer me a bottle wine or champagne to celebrate my birthday with my significant during my 45th birthday. I must say I did not even mention or say anything to anyone about this until the final incident of having to check out later than 4pm due an accident that my family friends did get involved and I did inform the hotel that I have to take them to the airport in return I will be back to get out belongings form the room immediately after dropping them at the airport. During the checkout process one of the F/O Agent her name S. decided to provide me the courtesy of helping my situation of not charging me any "Late Check-Out" penalty so I was under the impression that it’s nice of them to see my current situation in hand due to an accident and did show the one time courtesy of handling this problem. However, I did come to notice that, they in fact did not keep their promise at this hotel and did charge my cc without my authorization in the absence of authority and confirmation without any written statement or call or any kind of correspondence at all. The bottom line is I have never been this frustrated and treated like this way before in my entire stays as Platinum Member of SPG. I am afraid to say this but, this hotel staff at F/O management is not near any closer to be a professional staff to be servicing under the reputable and well-recognized organization as SPG. Thank you. K.Y. March 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful and Luxurious A charming, comfortable hotel. The breakfast buffet leaves a little to be desired. The rooms, however, are beautifully appointed, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom luxurious. March 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Staffs are very nice Impressed with the staffs. I left my hard drive and charger in the room, so I called the hotel. They called me back when they found the items, and I got those back. March 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great service Excellent service from the Concierge John, the bellhop Rama, and the rest of the staff. The hotel was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The breakfast was superb. During the snow storm, everyone was very attentive to giving us good tips and advice. March 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent hotel This is my second timer visiting The Fairfax Hotel and I would visit again many times. The staff is wonderful and very polite. The room is comfortable and has everything you would need. I also like the location which has easy access to the metro and a variety of restaurants and shopping. Wonderful hotel and I would recommend it highly! March 5, 2015
