I can't thank the staff again for accomodating my father once his back went out. The help and friendliness made the Thanksgiving a memorable one.

The Palace was our home away from home for 6 days recently including the Thanksgiving Holiday. Great service from the doormen, guest registraiton and especially the concierge. Excellent food and bar. High quality fitness options including indoor pool. Located right on Market Street, close to all business, shopping and tourist. Cab, cable car and BART right outside door.

I would not recommend this hotel to anybody!
P ubic hairs on the toilet, urine on the toilet seat from previous guest, hairs on the shower wall, hairs on the bathroom wall, paint on ceiling cracked, extremely dirty carpets, and the rooms have a musty smell to them. There was a glass in the hallway for over 14 hours. The staff doesn't seem to have any standards. Service in the bar was bad at night, good during the day.
I wouldn't go if I were you. This hotel should not be part of the Luxury Collection by Starwood.

The Palace Hotel is beautiful, and more than comfortable - the rooms I had felt luxurious. The hotel itself has been cared for with pride. Because it was an anniversary, I received a wonderful upgrade to my rooms which I will always remember with joy. The Palace employees were unfailingly friendly and helpful; a better welcome cannot be imagined. I would recommend the Palace Hotel without fail to anyone who wished to make their stay in San Francisco special. The odd little lapses were small: slippers but no robes in the closet, paper coffee cups instead of ceramics, room service without a condiments caddy, housekeeping that didn't include replacing wine glasses, bath salts and a few other items.

Gorgeous facility with spacious meeting space and a great floor plan within a short walk to Moscone Center. Nice restaurant; every dish elegantly prepared; good service. Wonderful staff, extremely courteous and quick to respond. Well designed lodging rooms but baths are small. Beautiful floral arrangements in the foyer, hallways and restaurants provide a warm and gracious welcome!

I was extremely disappointed in this hotel. The walls between rooms are paper thin. You can hear everything that is going on in the rooms next to you. And it's not your neighbors being loud, it's just them talking in a normal voice.
I talked to the front desk staff about moving my room after the first night of this, but according to the person I spoke with all the rooms are the same when it comes to that. Seems like they hear that issue a lot. It's just really weird, they do a great job of keeping out the street noise. But they can't put insulation between the rooms.
They also need to do something about the constant slamming of doors. Seriously this is a luxury brand hotel. How about some luxury then.
The bed was great. Bathroom was tiny. No space to put our toiletries. Great location. Great breakfast.

First, the Good. The Hotel is in a great location. On Market Street-- right next to a Bart Station and an F-Line Trolley car stop. A+++ The surrounding area felt safe and there were plenty of stores and restaurants. The Hotel itself immediately impresses with the architecture and grand entrance. A+++
Now, the Not-so-good. Once the initial blush of the grand entrance wears off, you really begin to notice the dirty and worn carpet, bubbling plaster and dirty paint and general wear and tear on the fixtures and woodwork. C-
The rooms are comfortable, but lack some of the conveniences you expect from new hotels.
I was extremely surprised to find that they charge for internet access in the room. Wired or wireless. I guess they feel like it is OK since most of the guests are business people and they expense it. D-. It felt like 10 years since the last time I paid for internet in a hotel.
The room had no in-room coffee pot. Again, I can’t remember the last time I stayed in a hotel without one. I like to have my first cup of coffee, before I’m ready to get dressed and venture out to a coffee shop. D.
The room had no microwave. Again seems like forever since I stayed in a hotel without one. D.
The bathroom had no vent fan. Which made it very steamy for quite a while after taking a shower. C.
AND the refrigerator that was in the room seemed to have only 2 settings—OFF and Frozen. Everything I put in the refrigerator froze one night and thawed the next after I tried to turn it down. F.
