Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Staff and Hotel but bad Credit Card Policy Amazing location, Great Staff ( having traveled to 68 countries and counting I can say the best staff in the world) , Great Service, one of the best hotels I have stayed in the world but....It has been a week since I left the hotel and they still have not removed all the blocks they put on my credit card. What surprised me is they put a 600+ USD block on my credit card for EACH day I stayed over there DURING the stay. I called the hotel yesterday and the accounting department was really very helpful but today I realized they removed the block for 1 day only; remaining 4 days are pending as a block on my credit card. Rated 5 out of 5 by The Place to Stay In Vienna Excellent hotel in every respect. The rooms with its antique furnishings and the public spaces (especially the grand staircase) ooze culture and history where some of the most famous people in the world have stayed. The staff bends over backwards to help satisfy your every need. The concierge was very knowledgeable and helpful in getting tickets to the evening Mozart performance. The front-desk personnel are always friendly. Our butler, Rudy, was remarkable in his service, providing suggestions for sightseeing, restaurants and cafes. The location on the Ringstrasse is superb, close to all of the sights and performance venues. We didn't dine at the formal restaurant, but did eat at the more casual café after attending an evening performance. Service there was excellent, and the food (especially the Wienerschnitzel) was delicious. One thing not to be missed at the hotel is the new bar (it did not exist in its current location during my last visit four years ago). The room is gorgeous, the service is attentive and the drinks are well-mixed. It is the perfect place for drinks and conversation before retiring to the room, feeling like royalty. June 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Royal Stay We recently stayed at the Hotel Imperial for 2 nights during a trip to Vienna. It was incredible! The hotel itself is a landmark. When we checked in, we were given a tour of the lobby and learned of the hotel's history and its days as a palace. And let me tell you, we felt like royalty there! Everything is beautiful and feels authentic to Vienna. We were upgraded to the Elisabeth suite, which was beautiful. Chandeliers hung from the ceiling, beautiful tapestries draped over the windows...the room was stunning. Not to mention everyone was so friendly. They were very helpful in making reservations for us and providing us with anything that we needed. Plus the hotel is located right in the city center and close to everything. It was the perfect launching point to see the city. We had an incredible time in Vienna, which was made perfect by this incredible hotel. January 22, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellenmt staff Property was excellent and staff was outstanding. I was traveling with my wife and two children and worried whether we wold all fit into a single room. We had been upgraded to a suite and the staff set up two rollaways so everything worked perfectly. Greg at the front desk was a tremendous help and was very kind to my children. Only comment I would make is that the bar was closed two of the three nights for separate private events. The only other option was to go into the Cafe and order a drink. The ambiance in the Cafe is bright florescent lighting and feels a bit like a mall Food Court. It is a poor stand in for a bar area when you wish to have a drink and discuss business with a colleague. But overall, this property is fantastic and i would recommend it strongly if asked. And again, the staff were fantastic. November 30, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good location in Vienna, Beautiful bar. Vienna is a stunningly beautiful city, and this hotel is very centrally located within walking distance of many attractions. They have remodeled some areas recently, and the bar area is magnificent. We also very much enjoyed the restaurant and its friendly staff. But the overall service was haphazard, including housekeeping--- we have stayed in quite a few Luxury Collection hotels, and most of them were better experiences than this one. SPG recognition could also be significantly better. November 6, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Luxury without pretention From the moment we were greeted by Konstantin (who immediately acknowledged our SPG Gold status) to the time we checked out, we were treated with professionalism and friendliness, a combination rarely achieved in the hotel industry. The room itself was stunning, and the marble bathroom was the height of luxury. For those in the theatrical professions -- everything in the hotel is detailed to the farthest corner of the room and even in the entire hotel. You couldn't see into the wings. Not in the room, not in the hotel. Beautiful fabric on the walls, comfortable furniture throughout the hotel, and even when a door opened to the back of the house, there was no break. There were also some pleasant surprises: For example, one night as we were having a drink and enjoying the piano music in the bar, it was announced that there would be a concert. An attractive and talented quintet played for almost an hour and a half. Two guitars, cello, flute, and soprano -- lovely. Thanks for the bonus! And if you like apple strudel, make sure you pay a visit to the cafe. I know the Imperial Torte is the house specialty, and it is excellent, but don't miss the strudel. A special mention must be made regarding the concierge staff. They helped us so much, whether it was restaurant advice, tour information, general directions, and just about anything else. I especially want to recognize M. Grassauer, the concierge with whom we worked most often. He arranged to get us tickets for a performance art piece and even helped us purchase our train tickets for our next destination (which I totally forgot to do before we left home). He is incredibly well-informed about the Vienna performing arts scene, and I recommend working with him whether you are interested in the classical performing arts or are looking for something a bit more adventurous. [A side note about the bathroom in our room: Many of us as we get older need some adaptation in facilities -- not the full-on handicapped access, but just some few changes to make life easier. The free-standing shower had a roomy marble seat as part of the over-all design (not just a pull-down perch) and a hand-held shower attachment. It was stable, it was easy to use, and still luxurious. Instead of merely an orthopedic adaptation, it just seemed to be an added bit of luxury. Thank you for that.] Bottom line: Would we stay here again? Absolutely! I wouldn't hesitate for a minute.
