Qatar Airwaysis the national carrier of the State of Qatar and one of only six airlines in the world with a Five Star ranking for service and excellence awarded by Skytrax, the independent aviation industry monitoring agency. Skytrax also named Qatar Airways' cabin crew as Best in the Middle East for the seventh  year running in 2009 and second best worldwide following a survey of more than 12 million passengers worldwide.

Qatar Airways is committed to spreading its award-winning Five Star service to key business and leisure destinations worldwide and currently operates a young modern fleet to over 85 destinations across North America, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Far East the Indian subcontinent, and now Australia.

With a growing international network, more travellers have an opportunity to use Qatar Airways’ Premium Terminal at Doha International Airport, exclusively for departing First and Business Class passengers. The terminal offers a range of services and facilities from exclusive check-in, duty-free, massage treatment rooms, spa, Jacuzzi, children's play area, business and conference center and fine dining restaurants. Built in just nine months, the US$90 million terminal is the world’s first commercial passenger building dedicated to First and Business Class passengers.

The airline's fleets will more than double in size to 110 aircraft by 2013, almost double the existing size. Qatar Airways plans to acquire 80 Airbus A350s, together with 60 Boeing 787s and 32 Boeing 777s. The airline is also a launch customer of the twin-deck Airbus A380 'super jumbos' with five aircraft on order and scheduled for delivery from 2010 to coincide with the opening of the New Doha International Airport.
