Meaning “yellow mountain,” Huangshan is situated in the southern part of China’s Anhui Province. The Four Points by Sheraton Huangshan, Tangkou Resort is conveniently located in Tangkou Town. Both the Huangshan Railway Station and the Huangshan High-Speed Railway Station are just a 50-minute drive from our hotel, and Huangshan Tunxi International Airport (TXN) can be reached by car in one hour.
Take a hike or cable car ride to the top of Mount Huangshan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and iconic symbol of China that is only 10 minutes by car from our hotel. The mountain’s unique granite peaks, Huangshan pine trees, and stunning sunsets have been an inspiration for artists for centuries.
Explore the region’s rich culture at Xidi and Hongcun, two of China’s most charming ancient villages. Less than an hour away in Yixian County, both of these UNESCO World Heritage Sites feature traditional Chinese architecture and art. Often called a fairyland, Xidi is filled with mountains and clear streams, and Hongcun is covered in clouds and mist. More of the province’s culture can be found in Shexian County. Surrounded by green mountains and clear waters, it contains many ancient homes, memorial temples, and relics, including the famous complex of seven well-preserved arches in Tangyue Village.
Located an hour by car from the hotel, Tunxi Ancient Street is home to century-old shops selling souvenirs, trinkets, brushes, local teas, and traditional Chinese medicine. Its many galleries showcase the city’s famous ink stones and the four Chinese traditional treasures of study—writing brushes, ink, ink slabs, and paper—along with antique furniture, calligraphy, and paintings. In the evening, its traditional red lanterns make it a festive place to enjoy teahouses and restaurants serving Hui cuisine, local snacks, and famous Huangshan Mao Feng Tea.
