Surrounded by mountains in the Yoichi District, Akaigawa is a small village situated an hour northwest of Sapporo in Hokkaido, Japan. Set in a secluded valley, the Sheraton Hokkaido Kiroro Resort is part of a fully integrated resort area.

Gather with friends and family to enjoy our resort’s year-round range of engaging activities. From late November until early May, guests can ski and snowboard on wide-open trails. Suitable for all levels, the trails are well known for having light and dry powdery snow. Children can take ski lessons and participate other activities at the snow park. Snow Segway rides, snow banana boat rides, snowmobiling, snow bubble ball rides, and snow rafting are fun for all ages.

During the summer, admire Hokkaido’s natural beauty and wildlife by kayaking, hiking, canyonning, mountain biking, or fishing. Hop on a gondola and take a 3,300-meter ride to the top of Mountain Asari to witness the spectacular views from the Kiroro Sky Deck. From there, adventure enthusiasts can trek along a trail up to the top of Mount Yoichi, one of Japan’s 100 most famous mountains. Visit Otaru, a nearby old port town, to wander along the canal and looking at its pretty historical buildings. Located about 30 minutes by car from our resort, Otaru is also known for its glassware, music boxes, and sake.

Take a leisurely soak in a Japanese hot spring (onsen). The Kiroro town area offers myriad indoor activities, games, and a shopping area. After a busy day, savor delightful Japanese and western cuisine. Sample some of Hokkaido’s famous crabs, scallops, oysters, salmon, pork, beef, and dairy products.
