Rated 2 out of 5 by Hotel did not have soap in stock After I called and I told the operator I needed to take a shower and there was no soap, they told me they did not have soap in stock. As I could not believe, I went to the reception asking for soap. They confirmed they did not have soaps in stock so I had to go the pharmacy to buy one bar of soap. The room did not have tissues that I use to clean my glasses nor any pen or pencil, no blank paper to make any note. Being born in Uruguay, I feel embarrassed for the bad service they have. Sorry but I feel they overcharged for the type of service they provided April 8, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Decent hotel and friendly front desk We had friendly service with the front desk, very accommodating. We booked 2 rooms and it would have been nice as a Gold member to be booked on an SPG club floor. Being a Gold member was not acknowledged but we had a good stay with our family. Rated 5 out of 5 by Always love this starwood hotel I had not been here in the last year but it is still as nice as it was. Susan does not work in the club lounge anymore and is missed very much as she always provides the excellence i have come to expect for being a member since 1987 when it was shearton gold crown club. The beds are great and the location cant be beat. Feel free to walk all around the very safe and clean city and discover great places to shop and eat. Always one of my favorite sheraton hotels. Rated 1 out of 5 by Very bad experience, not guest oriented My reservation included a cot for my 1 year old and when I checked in the cot was not available. Front desk personnel recognized that cot request was included in my reservation but that "unluckily" all were occupied. Nobody was willing to find a solution such as buying / renting a cot to solve their own mistake (giving all available cots without considering my reservation). No initiative at all. I pushed a bit for a solution and the front desk personnel phoned somebody (manager on duty I guess), described situation and same response: "sorry but there is nothing we can do". Very annoying... I believe that this things can happen and there are ways to compensate with an immaterial gesture such as "we are terribly sorry, can we offer complimentary wifi / city tour / breakfast / late checkout?". After this event my wife and three children left and I stayed alone for a few more nights as I had to work in Montevideo. I asked repeatedly that the extra beds where the children slept were no longer needed so they could take them out of the room and they never did, maybe they never passed the message to housekeeping. I seriously discourage you to stay at this hotel. February 19, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by They don't like Americans The front desk staff spoke very little English which made it impossible to communicate effectively with them. I told them I was sick from my 11 hour flight and They treated me like I was a nuisance by ignoring my calls from the room for service. They made me feel like I was invisible. I was frightened I would need medical assistance but be ignored. Reservation was for longer and even for that night but left the room paid yet empty and checked out early to go someplace where I was appreciated and felt safe. Only a few people walking the streets and Absolutely nothing within walking distance, not even the beach. Appauling view of cab drivers pulling in the pothole laden parking deck to urinate during the day. Had to open my room door when I heard activity from housekeeping and chase the girl down in the hall to get toilet paper, tissues and juice because I was sick and she expected a tip every time. Had to purchase toilet paper, tissues and juice at the store to bring to the room so I wouldn't have to ask room service for it. The pool area was alright but I couldn't share any photos of it on my FaceBook page for my family to see because I tagged the hotel in the photos they saw them and took them down like they have something to hide. The only good point about my stay was the restaurant ~ excellent food, service and presentation. Will never return to this hotel not even for the restaurant January 20, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Hotle Services Staff at front desk were all unable to help me either to get ground transport and they didn't even give me an answer on my request for a late check out I did not use the first day hospitality services of the club floor Nobody suggested / offered me the possibility of using on the second afternoon.
