Rated 5 out of 5 by IRELANDSMAN A ROOM WITH A VIEW
We arrived rather late and were given a very lovely suite with amazing views.
We had dinner just the first night in hotel and there after went to some amazing restaurants.
The Executive Lounge is small and cosy however i was shocked to find a North American young man enjoying his takeaway with the total consent of the lady duty manager in the club and at the same time inflicting its horrid odour throughout the lounge much to the dismay of other guests.
This is unacceptable.!
Front desk and Concierge were wonderfully helpful at all times especially BRUNA.
I strongly recommend you stay here and also have the advantage of the great shopping mall attached to the hotel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MoTv8R Best stay in South America
I have stayed at numerous hotels all over South America. This is easily the best one yet. Will definately use many more times.

Rated 2 out of 5 by RafKam Poor Value
Far too expensive for what it is, but Montevideo lacks decent options. Location is good for business as short drive to WTC and attached to a shopping mall for a quick meal.
Rooms are dated, as is the lobby. Breakfast ok, but not worth the price if it's not included in your rate. Pool and gym are so-so. My main gripe is how poor value this is, considering it's nothing but a 3-star passing as a 5-star.

Service was poor and slow overall.
I was constantly misled regarding fees. I was told that in room wifi was free, but I was charged. Additionally, I was charged per device so I got hit twice for my iphone and comp.... Thats $30 a night for computer service. I also love the $15 cup of chicken soup that actually wasn't chicken soup at all.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Traveler49 Hotel does not honor confirmed Non-Smoking Room Reservations
After flying all night, even though I had a printed confirmation for a non-smoking room for my stay, the hotel offered me a smoking room. I am allergic to tobacco and did not take the smoking room. I had to wait for 3.5 hours until I was given a non-smoking room. The hotel facilities do not lend for long waiting periods! I was exhausted from my trip and could not rest adequately before I went to work at noon.
To my surprise, I was charged for the night and showed in my bill as a no show! Obviously, this is not the case (not true) as I showed up but my room had been given up to someone else.
It has been my worst experience so far! I will try not to go back to this hotel.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Traveler49 Hotel did not honor my reservation
Upon arrival at the hotel, from a long flight, at 5:30 AM, the hotel front desk employee did not honor my NON-SMOKING room reservation, previously confirmed. He offered me and colleague smoking rooms!
The hotel does not offer an appropriate ambiance to chill down. Therefore, I have to sit down at a bar table near the lobby. After one hour, a customer rep came to apologize and sent us up to the Club Room. She promised that by 7:15 AM I would get my non-smoking room.
To make the story short, I got my room at 9:30 AM. I wasted 4 hours that could have been resting in my room. This unexpected situation impacted my work plans for the day.
Upon return from a long and tired work day, since I had not slept much, I did not even get an apology letter from the manager. I would have expected it on my bed or even a phone call.
The Sheraton Montevideo has earned the worst customer service rating from all the SPG hotels I have stayed in Latin America. I am not invited to stay at this hotel in the future.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Ton2S Room with a view, front desk staff without interest
This hotel gives you love - hate feeling.
The rooms are spacious, nicely decorated. The view is over Montevideo and the bay and Ramblas is beautiful.
The air-conditioning and the fact that you can open a window are perfect. The bathroom is very nice and has all the comforts you need or want.
The swimming pool is very nice and the location in the upper floor of the hotel gives it a beautiful view over the city and sea. Too bad the roof is not retractable.
The clubroom breakfast and drinks area is very nice. It makes breakfast and drinks pleasant in a quiet surrounding. Because of the scale (not that big) it is a nice place to be. The 23th floor and the large windows give you nice views. The staff is friendly and knows about your special needs after a day or so.
It really feels as a business hotel. In that sense the lobby / bar area are cold and have no atmosphere. Acoustics make it unpleasant areas (you can hear all conversations at the front desk and from the lobby / bar).
Where the clubroom-staff, porter and room maid make you feel at home, the front desk staff seems pre occupied and not very interested in their guests. A remark about one low and one high chair in the room for two guests, gave no response. Asking for a second high and fauteuil chair (we were bound to the room for some time) gave a positive response. The only thing is that the chairs never arrived during our 13 day stay. Very disappointing.
Also in the question of guaranteed lowest price. They could not explain a 50 dollar a night difference betw.een web and own website prices. They did not do anything to explain or compensate. There seemed no interest in their guests concerns.
All in all a nice stay, with disappointing experiences with the front desk staff. It is hotel policy seems the only sentence they can answer with.

Good facilities, executive lounge, pool and gym. I was not impressive with concierge on this hotel. Shopping mall access via elevator from the hotel.
Please note that executive lounge is close during the day, opening only for breakfast and after 6pm. During 11:30 am an 6pm and late at night if you are looking for a bottle of water or regular cafe you must order room service. Worldwide lounges at Sheraton are open at least for a water or cafe all day. Staff at the executive lounge when it is open are great and very helpful.
