Rated 2 out of 5 by Rooms dated more 80s than 2016 Pleasant grounds and good location on the beach. For me rooms are very poor and dated. Requested early check in but room wasn't ready until 2.15. Even after waiting for room for 30 mins it was basic. Requested change, but gave up after waiting 1 hour 15 mins as had to get showered for dinner. Lounge on 9 floor was fine. October 12, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Great features poor service This hotel has great facilities for families wanting an easy Dubai holiday, with a very large outdoor pool and on-site gardens and beach for anyone not wanting to walk too far or get taxis to go to the beach. This is great as you can walk to the beach in your shorts without worrying about covering up! It also has on site restaurants for any tired travellers who don't want to venture out. These all have good food. But a very short walk down the road (even in Summer heat) are lots of cheaper restaurants too (Cheesecake factory etc etc) The rooms are also nice - I stayed here twice despite getting warned from colleagues that the hotel is very old. I think the rooms are just as nice as any regular Sheraton, Unfortunately, both times I stayed there I have experienced the same bad service. I am a regular Sheraton guest and am used to the great service usually experienced at Sheraton hotels. This hotel is very different. The staff are unwilling to go out of their way or away from their normal roles to help guests. And are very rude about not even discussing the matter with guests to make them feel listened to, For example, on asking them to keep a suit bag for me from one week stay to the next (so I didn't need to drag it back to the UK), they refused without explanation. It made me decide to stay elsewhere the week after. Unfortunately for a 2 week stay in August I decided for the sake of the great facilities to return. Firstly I should explain that on my previous stay I had mentioned that I would technically become a 'Platinum' guest on my next third night with Sheraton. I usually don't care, but working long hours means that a quick snack and drink in the Platinum lounge while finishing off some work away from happy tourists is really helpful. So I asked if based on this they would be willing to give me access for my next stay. They refused and we agreed that I would go out of my way to book 3 nights separately from the rest of my next stay to ensure I became Platinum. Having taken my time to book 2 separate stays, I ask on the 3rd day about my Platinum status. They then informed me that I have to be away from the hotel for at least 24hours for this to kick in. This is based on something they told me incorrectly and if I had known I would have stayed at the Sheraton 4 Points for 3 nights first! They refuse to discuss it with me and make me feel annoying and irrelevant. Not only this but I had a leak in my room – the ceiling leaking on the floor for the first 2 days. I reported this to reception (surprised the cleaner just kept stepping over it!) And they got it fixed quickly, about an hour later. 3 hours after that I went back to my room to find the disgusting mess they had left. They had left what can only be described as ‘black plug hole gunk’ everywhere. They had put a huge lump of it in my toilet and not even flushed. It was all in bits all over the floor, wash basin etc. It made me feel that my bed and personal belongings were now all dirty. They came to clean my room shortly after, but no ones room should be left in this manner. August 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing stay It was an amazing stay for me and my friends. I was upgraded to a suite as a Platinum member. All the hotel staff are really friendly and always with a smile, ready to do the extramile without hesitation. Reception team Genylin, Hussein and Ali are always great people and always want to do the best they can. Another fantastic stay in Sheraton JBR August 10, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Greatest Stay In Dubai Once again, the Sheraton Jumeriah Beach has done an excellent job of making my business stay as pleasurable as any individual can get whether business or vacation trip. Got into Dubai in the early am, so no rooms were available at the time, but quickly given Club Lounge access. Now this is when I get excited about this choice of hotel when doing business in Dubai…Club Lounge…Home! From the moment I arrived to the Club Lounge, Avril, Eleazar, Mark, Angelina, John, and Kriza quickly reminded me of why I love Sheraton Jumeirah Beach so much. Thanks to Avril for the extremely awesome lodging upgrade, that only elevated my stay to an unbelievable status. Let’s talk about the Club Lounge experience that is available every evening when I return “home” from work…First there’s the fruits and vegetables that are beautifully displayed to snack on along with soft drinks and fruit drinks that the staff will not let you run out of, believe me. Like clockwork, and never late comes the food and cocktails for the dinner evening that can keep you inside for the rest of the night when Eleazar and Mark are in the house. I spend a majority of my stay in Club Lounge because of these guys. Later, its time to go down for some pool shooting (billiards) with the best bartender Jaavon and crew…try not to stay up too late with all of the top quality hospitality from all of staff from the host when getting out of the taxi everyday to the guy that cleans the mess we make in the lounge, Mr Ferrari (lol). Rated 4 out of 5 by Coffee and tea quality Although our stay was very enjoyable at the hotel I found the quality of the coffee and tea served during breakfast was awful. The taste and temperature these beverages was served at are not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. This has to be improved. August 7, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by VERY BAD - DO NOT GO THERE I went there and the experience started with a very rude check in employee who made sure the check in was as difficult as possible. After sorting it out, I asked if he could offer good room since Im an SPG member, he said "anyone can be spg" in a very rude way. When booking online I've clearly mentioned I need late checkout at 4 , he insisted on giving it only till 1 pm despite me almost BEGGING him, the next morning I call the reception another employee answer the phone and easily with no question agree to give me the later checkout....THE SURPRISE was at 1pm reception call and I go down, employees talking to each other whispering while Im there, don't agree to late check out, and telling me we already told you 1pm, I said but I called your colleague (gave her name) and she confirmed to me the new check out time with no problem.... they were furious....at checck in time they told me 20% off all food and beverage, at check out they only calculated the amount for one meal, the rest they rejected, online booking they said the price+tax is that much, I go to hotel the tell me we forgot one adidtional tax ...very very bad staff.... as an spg member they should give fruit platter (costs nothing) in the room, all room around me had it, I kept asking several time ...very rude staff at the hote, the staff at the beach was amazing really but once you step inside the hotel and namely the reception ...very rude. I 've shared this story on facebook, twitter and instagram and I keep telling it to everyone I meet. When I pay for a 5 start hotel that I'm member at I don't expect anything less that GREAT experience, if Sheraton doesn't know how to hire good employees then I will better stay somewhere else. Finally, the room was spacious, sunny, but the bathroom goes back at least10 to 15 year ago and the AC temprature control not working and one last thing, Im there to relax and enjoy who would send ROOM SERVICE AT 8.30 AM on a weekend knocking on my door 4 times , thankfully I had the lock from inside ...worst experience in Dubai after staying in more than 23 hotels so far in the past 8 years or so.
