Went to a 30 yr reunion here the normal rate was almost $400 a night and I was givin it for $200 as a reunion courtesy. 1st off its under construction which they never said when booking, then I went to the pool around 12pm and the bar wasnt open there were 5 employees just standing there and said that the bartender didnt show yet and not sure when theyll b in. It was hide and seek to even get to the restaurant because of the construction and the prices were "RIDICULOUS" for what u got. The room was a joke as the shower was see thru to the whole room and other hotels. Not ideal for kids to watch their parents shower Also, patio doors were very heavy and had cheap plastic hardware that u just about rip off when opening door, my night table had cigarette burns on it which is surprising for a smokeless hotel. When I finally was able to go to pool and have 2 drinks the bartender was clueless on how to make a "PAIN IN THE A--" which he gave me a green drink not even frozen but it should have been a strawberry daiquiri and pina colada mixed which cost over $18 each!! Even charged me for the messed up one which also had a bug in it. So I got charged for a drink that was made wrong and had a bug in it $18..Also to park ur car they charge u a seperate charge of Almost $40 a night and they dont even wash the car before they give it back. My snacks tray was missing items which I told the girl whom cleaned my room and she said she would have someone come and take care of it well guess what NEVER TAKEN CARE OF and Ill probably b charged for that stuff too....The view was nice and some of the staff were helpful but all in all a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE FOR THE MONEY SO SAVE UR MONEY!!!!

Due to Hurricane Matthew, our flight was cancelled and we had to extend our stay in Florida. With a prior poor stay in Miami with a non-SPG property, my fingers were crossed for an enjoyable two night layover. Upon check-in, Brian welcomed us as members of SPG and provided excellent customer service. He was warm and knowledgable about the property. Even with construction around the hotel, we had access to the key areas: pool, room service, spa and gym. Every special request we called in, was delivered quickly to our door. Location was great, 1 block from the beach and a few blocks from all the action on A1A Blvd - shopping, restaurants and bars. Thank you W Ft. Lauderdale for extending our cruise vacation with two nights of lovely accommodations and superb service. This was our first overnight stay in Ft Lauderdale and I will be returning again, very soon.

I cannot thank the W Fort Lauderdale enough for my experience, Everything from check in to dinner recommendations, to even having a package shipped last minute was great. I mentioned that I was only in town for a few hours because of flight issues, I honestly cannot wait to visit again and experience it for more than an evening. I had an amazing view and room. I highly recommend this hotel for not only a few hours, but for an extended trip. I will be back for a longer stay as soon as possible.

The staff was so amazing I don't know where to begin. Checking in we had Ashlei take very good care of an issue we had with our rooms not being close as a group. Walter was a very patient and understanding server who was sweet and took care of us two days we sat in his section. Joe went above and beyond the duties required from valet by taking my family photos on the beach. It was a great experience and I'd definitely come back again. Only thing I'd change is how the bathrooms are set up for privacy. And that isn't a big issue not to let me come.

Hi goes a long way. I am sorry we messed up is not so hard to say either; When I stay a W I don't demand to treated like a VIP but, how about a valued customer who wants to interact with a staff that likes people.

The W exceeded my expections ranging from the room's luxury and comfort to the friendliness of the staff. I will stay again in the future. I used The Whatever Whenever service for a special request which was immediately granted. I couldn't have been happier with this anniversary trip that I spent with my handsome husband of 26 years! A special Thank you to Brian, Lee and Evelyn.

When I booked I was aware of the renovations. This is what they showed on the website:
From August 8 to October 31, 2016, there are ongoing renovations to the guest rooms as well as additional areas throughout the hotel. During this time, the hotel will offer all services (pool, beach, spa, dining, workout facilities) and all efforts will be made to keep noise and disruption to a minimum. Please contact the hotel for additional information.
Now I also contacted the hotel and was told not to worry. I guess offering ALL services doesnt include the main pool. I did speak with a manager to voice my displeasure. I was told I would be "taken care of" and to his credit I was. Now the west pool was very nice and on Thursday no problem. More crowded on Saturday but glad we got a spot early.
I will say this.....the room was spectacular. The staff at the Spa and the pool were wonderful Overall I would give it another try.
