Rated 5 out of 5 by GreekSummerTraveler16 Pricey but worth it
I spent one day night here in the summer. We had a bungalow with the private pool. The room as well as the service were absolutely top notch. It is an expensive upgrade but it is well worth it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Okieako This hotel is in a great location
However, this is the first hotel I get to in the recent couple of years where I have to pay for wifi and it is not cheap! This is not helped by the fact that the hotel room rate is already so high!! Breakfast options were rather limited though! Otherwise, location is super great!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Raffster Great hotel but needs some polish
We only had two nights at the Arion but were impressed with its potential. Upgraded to a Seaview suite, our views were spectacular. It was early in the season and the Arion showed it wasn't ready for guests yet. The VIP lounge wasn't really open , staff weren't really on the ball although they did try to please. What really surprised was the lack of restaurants open for dinner. Only two between the Westin just up the road and the Arion. It's quite isolated on the peninsular and having two options was quite poor.
That said, the fitness centre was great, the pools also, and the private beach lovely.
We can only hope that our concerns were early season issues and are not a permanent issue for the hotel. Some polish is needed to get the Arion up to 5 star.

Rated 4 out of 5 by DON43 Some disappointments but, overall, a good stay
This was a 4-night stay to relax after a week of business in Athens. This was also the second time that my wife and I had stayed at this hotel, the first time being in 2008. This stay was not nearly as good as in 2008. The room originally assigned on check-in was a disappointment given my Platinum status. It was not on the 4th floor and overlooked the parking lot not the sea. On checking further I found that the assignment was made on the assumption that I was a Gold member (I was in 2008)not a Platinum member. On searching further they found a nice room (suite) on the 4th floor with a sea view. The room was very nice and was well appointed. The Executive Lounge was a major disappointment. Limited service in the evening and little in the way of food choices. It was not staffed for most of the time that it was open. The breakfast selection was, as before, excellent and the chef was friendly and helpful. The wait staff were , however, very poor. Difficult to get coffee refills. There was almost an attitude of distain for the guest. The hotel facilities are well kept and the hotel is situated in a beautiful location. We will come back but look forward to better service the next time around.

We stayed at the Astir Palace in August and liked it so much we returned in October . On check in we were moved to the higher Grade Arion as the Astir was closing down for the season. - who could complain?
The staff were fantastic on both trips- but this was reinforced on the last day, when on arriving at the airport (short on check in time ) I discovered the families passports had been left in the room safe
Hotel Security was despatched to retrieve them and they were quickly on their way to me, delivered by a cheerfull and diligent taxi driver - seamless service

Rated 5 out of 5 by 1Spartan1 Excellent as Always
I've been staying at the Arion since 1983. I've never experienced any issues. The Hotel always seems to be sufficiently staffed year round.
Check-in is always smooth and friendly and the food and beverage quality is superb.
The Spa and indoor pool is clean and has all the necessary amenities.
Housekeeping could use a little more training as my bathroom was never cleaned 100% each day other than restocking of toiletries and towels.
I cant wait to return to this jewel on the Athenian Riviera. Good Job management!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Vincos THE LOVE AFFAIR THAT WASN’T
OVERALL IMPRESSION: I had originally booked into the sister hotel on the same property which inexplicably closed a couple of days before my arrival. I was excited to be “upgraded” to this property as I have a particular interest in historic hotels and am well familiar with the role this one played in the Greek “dolce vita” of the 60s. I was not disappointed in the property which is elegant and beautiful but, unfortunately, service is not up to the same standards.
SPG RECOGNITION: Promised well with an upgrade to sea-view suite several days prior to arrival but that is pretty much where it ended. No in-room amenity. No meet-and-greet. Knowing the preparation briefing my Ambassador provides to every property I visit, I was shocked that little things - like my preference for mineral water or morning paper - went unheeded.
THE ROOM: Well-maintained and elegant with a nod toward the 60s style of the original incarnation. Exterior rooms have an absolutely glorious view and balconies are spacious
LOCATION: A destination resort 14 miles (35E) from the airport and about the same into central Athens.
EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS: The beauty of the natural setting on the gorgeous Vouliagmeni Bay.
DID NOT MEET EXPECTATIONS: The “Executive Lounge” is nothing more than the elevator landing on the fourth floor and was only functioning for two hours a day. The evening cocktail hour was risible with no staff in attendance and two plates of pastries as the sole offering. In off-hours, NOTHING is available and even the coffee machine is unplugged.
ONE THING TO KNOW: Be prepared for less-than-satisfactory service. Why is it that most Greek hotel employees seem to interpret “democracy” as an equitable disdain for all their guests? Not a single smile in sight and, frequently, what felt like downright hostility ain’t no way to run a hotel! At the beach I had to drag my own furniture from the storage heap as no attendant was around, then waited two hours (not kidding) to even see a waiter who then brought the wrong order after 30 minutes and served it without condiments or napkin or…most importantly…an apology. At breakfast, I literally had to stand up to get enough attention to garner a cup of coffee. Went to the bar for my “welcome drink” and after being ignored for several minutes, the waiter ’s only comment upon finally approaching me was to point at my voucher on the table and say…”you can only have beer or wine with that…no mixed drink…” Welcome, indeed!
