Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome Hotel awesome place for traveling January 25, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Luxurious stay with bang for the buck, in a central location of South Delhi This was my first stay at any brand of Sheraton and I was apprehensive of the quality of service, food and many other factors. However, from the point of clicking the Confirm Reservation button on the hotel's website to the time I checked out, the hotel and its staff met all my expectations and went beyond. I will cover all bases here. I stayed here in the month of January 2015 and was here with my wife. We were in Delhi for a wedding and required that our stay be hassle free. I reserved my rooms about a week ahead, and since my wife had slightly different travel plans, I informed the hotel in advance (they said all I needed to do was to send them an email). I had also asked for pick up from the Delhi airport. My flight arrived about 10 minutes ahead of schedule and though I did not get any prior SMS or call from the driver (as is the norm everywhere else), he was there waiting for me outside the terminal. He gladly held on to my bags while I got myself a bracer cup of hot coffee from the outlet at the terminal, to warm up on that frigid Delhi winter's morning. The car was an Innova and the driver was pleasant and smooth. The checkin procedure was hassle-free. Just had to wait about five minutes while the room was being cleaned. They have a nice seated waiting area right opposite the check in counter and I enjoyed my first cuppa of hot south Indian filter coffee. The room itself was well appointed, furnished and laid out. Everything was just so at the right spot and accessibility. My only qualms with anything in the rooms was the weird placement of the extension telephone in the toilet -- it would keep getting off the hook and fall off when I tried to use the WC -- and the strangely western "tissue paper" only toilet. Thankfully, the housekeeping team obliged with a bucket and a mug, otherwise my entire stay would have been unpleasant and wrong. Room service is fast and efficient. The staff are attentive and can suggest strange and enjoyable deviations to the menu that I suggest you try. Their South Indian Filter Coffee is one of the best I have had at a restaurant in Delhi. Food is excellent. The chefs deserve many plaudits for consistency in taste, presentation and combination of ingredients. Go ahead and order the deeply Indian and South Indian dishes on the menu, you would be pleasantly surprised. PS: I am not sure why, but the hotel has a heavy indulgence in South Indian dishes and they are all quite excellent. The hotel frankly goes quite overboard in the security department. Your hotel room key card also works as a swipe access card to use the lifts to go to your rooms. While the lift has no security to come downstairs or use the lower lobby areas, you need to swipe before you can tell the lift your floor. You are also thoroughly frisked and any and all baggage (including handbags) X-rayed EVERY TIME you enter the main doors. I found this excessive and unnerving and the least exciting part of my stay. The hotel also has a reluctance to let auto-rickshaws enter the awning area and the guards at the main gate will rush to chase them away even if you happen to be seated within. The concierge & travel desk is helpful and efficient. They can call both "black and yellow" (meter) taxicabs and provide you hotel cars for commuting within Delhi. I was also told you could get cars for tours to popular places or nearby cities (like Agra). The concierge is also helpful to suggest the best options (of vehicles) for your proposed travel route. I suggest you use the black & yellow taxicabs as they are just as safe as the hotel cars while being much more inexpensive (25% less). All in all, a great place to stay. Would I recommend this place to friends? Yes. Would I stay here myself in future? Likely. January 19, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Decent Sheraton Was warmly welcomed to the hotel as a Plat member, and had my photo taken with the front desk staff for some reason. Upgraded to a Club Floor room, that was really clean. Furniture and carpet are a bit older, but is fine. The bed sits low, but was surprisingly comfortable. Plats get free breakfast in the restaurant downstairs. The food is varied, and high quality. Unfortunately, it doesn’t open until 7am, which can be a problem for people with early morning flights. Gym was decent sized, with a good selection of equipment. The Sheraton is located in Saket, which is a bit south for touristy locations, but is close to the red line Metro station. February 15, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Another Sheraton Old Style Hotel This hotel has given me many problems in the past. They rarely have my information correct when I go to check in, and they have not recognized my Gold/Platinum Status with stays there. The rooms are small and average, but we continue to come back here when traveling through Delhi. It typically is the cheapest of the Delhi hotel options with SPG, and we do not spend a lot of time at the hotel when the travel through. Saying all of that, the Club Lounge is really nice, and I think the best service in the hotel takes place in that lounge. Also, my wife has a gluten intolerance, and the breakfast staff do a great job to help her with something to eat. January 1, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not worth being a Sheraton & a SPG associate Very ill-tranined staff with no value for SPG Gold member. Staff not up to the mark as a Shearton Brand name should have. Property ill-managed. Believe it or not during my stay the Elevator of the Hotel was out of function from 21:hrs when i got stuck on the 6th floor and had to use service elevator to go down and the situation was the same even after 4 hrs whn i returned to the hotel. The satff was very discourteous of the entire situation. Even after my repeated complaints not even once any of the senior management team memeber bothered to get in touch with me.NOT AT ALL VALUE FOR MONEY, instead CHOOSE THE OTHER ITC SHERATON IN DELHI WITH SAME RATES December 2, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by My Vacation In Sheraton Pickup and check in was marvelous. We stayed in 6th floor executive club. Room was good and view of Qutub Minar made it even better. In my mind aroma and delicious food of 'restaurant Dakshin' is still floating. My son was amazed after receiving surprise cake and special attention from the staff. Although check out was not as warm as the check in. We had to carry our heavy luggage from room to reception lobby ourselves. We are looking forward to stay in this hotel again. March 30, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Stay! The hotel was one of the top three starwood locations I have stayed. February 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Good Pick This hotel is not the most modern or highest in New Dehli, but it is a great pick for a family. The rooms are very clean and in good condition. The furniture and rooms are made of high quality materials and the location is within a 1 minute walk of two modern shopping malls. This hotel was a great value and provided a driver and tour guide for our stay. The restaurants are also nice and we got access to the executive club, which was a very nice feature.
