Rated 5 out of 5 by Clean, Comfortable, Amazing Service My initial greeting set the stage for a fabulous night's stay that just seemed to get better as the hours passed. The room was spacious (especially in comparison to other NYC hotels I have previously stayed at) and had amazing views. Not only could I clearly see the Empire State building but the sign on top of 1 Penn Plaza seemed to act as my night light adding to a chic city feel. The complementary magazines (Whole Living & National Geographic) were a great break from a long drive and the environmental focus of te room and hotel was a refreshing change. The bathroom was refreshing and spacious. Breakfast had a wide variety of hot and cold options that was a great start to the day before hitting the streets to my nearby office. I will be looking into other Element stays near my other offices in Miami and Denver. February 13, 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by through a snow storm The hotel was great, bed and shower were both enjoyable. very unexpected kitchen in the room. and by kitchen, i mean full fridge and freeze, stove top, sink and dishwasher. all pots, pans, plates etc all included for you as well. will definitely be back! Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect hotel and location This was my first trip to NYC, the quality of the hotel and all of the Ammenities far exceeded my expectations. The staff were very friendly, and were always very willing to help with directions, suggestions on where to eat and many other things to do. The view from our room was spectacular, and also having the ability to go to the roof top gave even more views. There was never a disappointing moment during this stay. Rated 4 out of 5 by Layout of room The room was clean and the bed was great. TV was fine as was the bathroom. The room was small but the worst feature was the location oif the arm chair which was not in position to view the TV. The desk chair leaned back at a 70 degree angle, was dangerous and should be avoided. The refrigerator made too much noise but worked.The staff was outstanding as was the free breakfast. Rated 5 out of 5 by quiet and comfort in Times Square I was pleasantly surprised to find a kitchen and a full size refrigerator in the room, and still have plenty of space left for a king bed, work desk, and small comfy couch. With breakfast, gym, and happy hour included, I really have nothing to complain! Will recommend to anyone staying in NYC. February 7, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent, reasonably priced hotel in Midtown The unassuming entrance to the hotel belies what lies inside your room: a comfy kind-size bed, a nice kitchenette with a large fridge, and large shower with a rain tile head and optional hand-held spray head, and actual room to move around! Unheard of in Midtown, especially at a reasonable price point. The front desk service is quick, efficient and pleasant. I especially want to thank Kady for her excellent service during my stay. I can't speak to any of the facilities outside of the lobby area, since I didn't use them. I am looking forward to coming back to NYC and staying here again! February 5, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by great property in a good location.... stayed here for 2 nights in january, 2013....i love the location of this property....its close enough to times square but not quite as touristy or crowded as the other hotels in the area.... as a platinum member i was upgraded to a studio suite, even though element properties are not obligated to upgrade plats to suites....it was one large corner room on the 32nd floor....very good size for new york.... the internet was a bit slow & i had to wait a while for the elevators on a number of occasions....besides this the stay was very good....there was free breakfast every morning as well as a happy hour in the evening....food choices were a little limited but the food was good.... i've stayed here a number of times & would definitely return again....its great value for money in a very good location.... Rated 5 out of 5 by Far exceeded our expectations We live in a small, mountain community in Colorado, and coming to the big city was a bit daunting, to say the least. However, our worries about staying in "downtown" Manhatten were quickly alayed by the friendly, helpful staff, the clean, green appearance of the physical facilities, and the ease in getting from the hotel to all the sights and attractions we had planned. We especially appreciate the dedication to maintaining an eco-friendly hotel, to the extent of having recycle bins in the rooms. Well done! Next time we sally forth into the Big Apple, we want to stay longer...at the Element, of course. January 29, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Element location We stayed at the Elemnt the last two times we were in the city, and will stay there again. The hotel is great and it's location is perfect. We can walk to almost anywhere we want to go and the subay stop is just around the corner if we need to take it. If the hotel had room service and a bar it would be perfect! January 29, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 What more could you ask Stayed at the Element, Jan 21st for 5 nights, on arrival after being delayed at the airport, greeted by the nicest staff i have ever encounted. Brooke in particular was so helpful.happy hour at the hotel is the best thing i have come across free drinks and snacks after a long day, free breakfast in the mornings, the room was on the 29th floor not once did we have an issue with the lifts but saying that we were on holiday so no need to rush room had large fridge and hob if you wanted to eat in..my only downside was i had to come home because i really felt at home there, a major factor to this hotel are the staff, every last 1 of them. I was supposed to be booked in another hotel in the Times Square area, At check in time they could not find my reservations, After a lot of "digging" I was told that my reservations were with Element and as per the receptionist " is a much better hotel than ours" , naturally those words got me very excited to find out more about Element Hotel. I was not disappointed, I had a great stay ,the room was very nice and the view !! ahh, THE VIEW!! breakfast was great as well. January 28, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by this hotel very comfortable for recovery suchas disaster harricane victim like me and my two pets I enjoy and feel myself together with my two small chihuahuas a lots better since we enter to Hotel after SANDY Harricane. We soon be recovered by staying in this peacefull Hotel and do non want to move to another so comfortable we are here. Thankyou very much to all who offering for us temporary wonderfull life. Rated 1 out of 5 by Terrible experience with the Element Times Square We booked two nights stay at the Element Times Square using cash and points option. Upon our arrival, hotel staff notified us that they were able to provide us with an upgraded room. The fact that room we stayed in was a superior one makes this stay even more disappointing. Below are few notes on our experience with Element: - Turning on the heating resulted in the huge cloud of dust being lifted from the heating unit. The amount of dirt and dust on the heating unit was appalling. - Washroom sink was clogged. - Floors were not the cleanest, to say the least. - Sheets appeared as someone has already used the bed. We were in the hurry to meet our European friends that were visiting NYC. Their hotel was not far away, but it was raining heavily, so we stopped at the reception to ask for an umbrella. Unfortunately, we were told that none were left. I then explained the state of our room and asked about the possibility to shorten our stay by one night, as we wanted to move to a different SPG hotel. We travel a lot and for the last 10 years we did not stay in other hotel’s brand but Starwood. Our previous experiences with SPG hotels were outstanding, and we did not want to spend the whole weekend in the room with the myriad of issues. Receptionist had to consult her manager on it, and has subsequently notified us that, as per her manager’s response, we would have to pay an early departure fee of $50.00 or to lose one night. We have then been advised to choose first option as it the one of lesser cost. Unsatisfied with the response, I called Platinum concierge service. Agent that took my call had to connect to Element’s manager and discuss. It took very prolonged amount of time until we finally got permission to leave the hotel next day without any penalties. The wait was such that we were extremely late to meet our friends for dinner – needless to say that our first night in NYC was far from expected. While Element cannot compare to other SPG properties, prior to visiting it we thought that its great location and more than reasonable room pricing brings its own value. However, its lack of cleanliness and customer service will keep us away from this chain even if we were given a free stay in it. January 28, 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by Lovely surprise Great hotel for the price in an excellent location. Staff is professional, friendly and helpful. Nice amenities in room. Non-smoking facility. Some rooms may be tight; others may be a bit more roomy. Good selection for breakfast; offered happy hour during the week. From time to time you need to be patient with the elevators.
