I had a family emergency and at 8am had to leave the hotel. I spoke with the front desk and they said they would have to charge me $150 early departure fee. I asked for them to waive it - she would not then I asked to speak to the manager and not only did he smirk and laugh at me for asking (mind you I am a platinum member) he threatened to charge me the whole night (250 plus taxes) if I did not leave. This property has the worst customer service and I have reported it to corporate and the company that I work for. Avoid at all costs the staff are not accommodating to the customer's needs at all. They will laugh at you. As an update, they never waived the fee and charged taxes to their $150 fee. 9 hours at this hotel ended up being $476!!! Talk about ridiculous!

Very nice rooms and fairly spacious for such a central location. Breakfast included is a wonderful perk.

Valentine's Day Break Up
SPG, I wish you had an algorithm that let your clients know that some of your hotels are better suited to their guests..
I would not have stayed here if I had known it was more of a communal motel arrangement.
The Mgmt team was very accommodating and did their best with what they had to work with. I appreciate that.
Just not what I had anticipated...but marketing is brilliant. Great brand and I appreciate that but I arrived here for my first time and plugged in my computer and phone (and departing for the evening for work engagements) as I returned the outlet did not work that I had assumed would be charging my computer after a long day of travel and usage.
With that said Engineering arrived and could not resolve (again not his fault he checked everywhere...I watched).
Easy solution...'put your plug in another outlet' sorry not acceptable as I was on a deadline and anticipated your electrical system to work as a motel guest would reasonably assume.

When i entered the hotel lobby it wasn't as clean as I thought after reading the reviews. The lobby furniture appeared a little worn out. Everythig from there went great, starting from the front desk upgrading my room from standard to a suite, at no additional charge. I loved everything about the suite! It was clean, cozy, and very modern. I even had a small view of Times Square, from my window. I defiantly would stay here again when i'm in the NYC area!!!! nevertheless there is no parking garage, so I had to park across the street in a lot which cost me $40.00 every time i left and returned.

My wife and I arrived on January 12th around 4 PM, for a mixed business\pleasure trip. I had reserved a King bed room well in advance.
When we arrived at our room got two double beds. We were not told this.
When I called the front desk, I was told nothing could be done about it.
At 6:30AM we were woken up by a WAKE UP call! We did not schedule one.
Around 9 AM as we are making business calls, the fire alarm goes off for several minutes in our room. We called the front desk and were told that this was a scheduled test and that it was now over. However it continued for several more minutes.
When we advised the Manager of all these issues we were told that there were King room available if we had been willing to wait. That is not what the front desk folks told us.
We did get a bottle of red wine and an apology note. Unfortunately I don't think it makes up it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DOD58 Element Times Square is the Best!
Just spent the week there and have to say it was a very pleasant experience, despite horrific weather and the super bowl madness in NYC. I travel for business 45 weeks a year and stay in a lot of SPG properties as a Platinum Member. Staff was the best, and know I will be staying there again on future business trips.

The Hotel Manager / Charles was extremely unhelpful and the opposite of what I have come to expect from a Westin Hotel Manager. Charles needs some customer service training in my personal opinion.
