Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing people and resort The resort is just like the pictures - amazing property and scenery. But what really is outstanding is the hotel staff. Everyone we came in contact with was genuinely happy to see you and looked forward to assisting you. The pool area is great. The Executive lounge is outstanding and one of the best we have experienced. This was one of the best holidays and hotel experiences we have enjoyed. Thank you to all the staff. February 10, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Top notch hotel for spg platinums Had an excellent stay at the westin over New Year's Eve. This hotel did an excellent job to cater to spg platinums. Upgraded to a suite at check in, excellent club lounge with full breakfast, including Bloody Mary and mimosas, evening hours d'ourves with a decent wine and beer selection. The hotel has 4 pools which provide ample space for all guests and even has an exclusive platinum area of the pool reserved to spg elites, where complimentary cold bottled waters are provided throughout the day. Overall had an excellent and relaxing stay at the hotel, staying 5 nights without even leaving the hotel. My only small critique would be that the hotel doesn't discourage guests from getting up early and reserving multiple pool chairs (5+) only to return late in the afternoon to actually use the seats. Definitely recommend for anyone, and especially spg elites, January 3, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Hard For those with gluten allergies or vegan lifestyles Great accommodations but it is costly to leave the hotel for other restaurants ($50 round trip) and only mode of travel is their taxi system. Therefore, it would be helpful if the Westin could get gluten and dairy free items in their restaurants, educate their staff and provide more items in their Executive Lounge. The staff is somewhat limited in their English (and we in our Spanish) so each meal is painful to explain and one has to hope not to be contaminated. Food often comes from the main kitchen and the staff cannot tell if the sauces have gluten etc. The Westin as a whole could step up their game by educating staff and labelling food. In the Executive Lounge this morning their was another couple having the same issue as we were. The lounge is a treat but not when you cannot eat most items. With just a little knowledge items can easily be modified. The Asiana restaurant for instance has no gluten free soy sauce, making the entire sushi restaurant off limits. We have not had as difficult a time at other Westins in other countries as we have here and this one with its remote location could easily be more accommodating should they choose. In the future, we probably will need to stay closer to downtown and restaurants that can better accommodate food sensitivities, that said, most restaurants in this day and age can modify their foods more easily then here. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Staff From the moment we arrived the staff were on hand to make our stay the best possible. Smiling, helpful and efficient, they are a great team. Special call out to Maggie at the front desk for above and beyond service. November 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great stay This hotel met all my expectations. The staff was really friendly, the Executive Club Lounge amazing with a breathtaking view and the rooms were superb! I hope I can come back soon. October 26, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Consistently unable to reach staff after midnight Facility was generally of high standard except that air conditioning control did not work and room was therefore either frigid or had to be turned off. House keeping did not replenish lotion two consecutive days. Most irritating is that 3 consecutive nights I called every number in the hotel after midnight to request a wake-up call. No one answered at any of the numbers - neither front desk, housekeeping, nor Operator. It's like the hotel staff all go to sleep at the same time that the guests do. Therefore would never recommend this hotel for business travel. September 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Vacation...great stay! We were in town visiting family and wanted to get away from the hustle of the city. The resort is very easy to get to from Panama City and right near a rain forest. We reserved a second room for my kids and mother-in-law. The staff worked to get us connected and upgraded my room to suite. It made me look good in front of my wife's family that they upgraded us thinking that I was some sort of big-shot. I told them "No, not a big shot...just a Platinum with SPG." ;) The staff really took care of us well. My wife and mother-in-law got massages and were floating on clouds the rest of the day. A good investment if you want to keep 'mama' happy. Idilia and Billy Jean were outstanding at the pool. Great ladies who clearly take pride in their work and that they work at the premier resort in the city. June 21, 2015
