From check in to getting a taxi, this hotel pales in comparison to the many other Starwood hotels I have stayed. Unlike other hotels at check in, Platinum status means nothing here as the staff at chec-in didn't even bother to advise me of the privileges accorded to Platinum members. Of all the hotels I have stayed, this is the first where I did not see any fruit basket in the suite! Also, there is only a set of toiletries in the bathroom where others would place at least 2 sets. Getting a taxi was also a pain and nobody came to my assistance even though i was standing outside in the -5 deg night for a good 5-10 minutes.
Truly undeserving of a Starwood hotel.

My wife and I spent two separate five day stays at this hotel in October. We were thoroughly impressed with the service, especially the concierges who were a wealth of information and provided us with great tips. As this was our first time in Beijing, it made our touring the sites (on our own) very uncomplicated. As platinum members, we were fortunate enough to be upgraded to a gorgeous suite on the second visit. We made very good use of the Club Lounge, where service was impeccable and food items were always varied and interesting. Fantastic view of the Olympic site from this lounge.
We would highly recommend this hotel.

Rooms are nice; staff especially friendly. Air conditioning in the rooms could be better.
Suggest a salad bar be put in for western guests.

I arrived on a day prior to a group meeting. I was tired and irritated as I was to be picked up from the airport by the tour company but ended up having to take 2 taxis as the first went to the wrong Sheraton. The staff was pleasant and accorded Starwood treatment. The next day, however, was a different story. I was told that I would not receive Starwood points despite the payment of the full rack rate and I would not receive free internet because the points were given to the tour operator. I find this outrageous and I am considering whether I will ever return to a Starwood facility agains. Not only did I lose four days in Beijing but I also lost three nights in Xian. I also missed my "heavenly bed"

I booked a NON-SMOKING room but I was offered a SMOKING room. I had to insist to get a non-smoking room. No upgrade and no fruits! No comments

We had already checked out but later encountered a change of plans and had to stay one extra day in Beijing. I quickly used my phone to make an online room booking and it was so easy to do with the SPG APP. Upon checkin the staff remembered us and adressed us by name. We usually chose Dongcheng Sheraton for our stay in Beijing and have never been disappointed. Thank you.
