Things I like
- Hotel Design and Landscape
- Room comfort; They make up our room twice except last night.
- Kids club (for Selina )
Things I don't like
- No heated pool for adults
- English breakfast tea uses Lipton locally made instead of Twining
- When I asked expresso they replied running out of coffee beans
- The quality of breakfast is low
- Only one staff to serve around pool area
- The price tag for the food I order is equal to international resort price but the quality is much lower
- Staff needs more training to be polished
i have sense that this hotel is striving for cost control in order to be profitable. I honestly don't feel Luxury at all.

Nice beach . Generous space even for the basic room. Nice view. Reasonable priced. Responsive front office executive. only drawback is that the breakfast selection is so so and expensive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ing74 Great deal for kids
Room is spacious and with double beds at 1.5m wide, very comfy.
As SPG member I enjoyed free breaksfast and free kids meal for the kids, as well as 15% off from the restaurant.
Definetely a place to come back.

My wife and I spent 3 lovely nights at the Royal Begonia, a luxury collection resort in Sanya China from 23 - 26 July 2014. We were warmly welcomed on our arrival by the Guest Services staff of Claire Sun, Sanna Tao and Jennifer Yang. Together they were always smiling cheerfully whenever they met us during our stay and enquired on our needs.
As a SPG Platinum member our room was upgraded to a 110sqm ocean view suite. The room was superb with 3 balconies offering different views of the resort and ocean. The view and scenery was lovely, one of a kind.
During our stay, we enjoyed much of the facilities especially the many swimming pools surrounding the resort. A daily walk along the beautiful beach completed our stay. The resort shares the same compound as the Sheraton Sanya but we prefer the quieter and more private surround of the Royal Begonia.
The Royal Beongia is located in a new development in Haitang Bay in Sanya. Many new other international hotels are soon coming up. So catch it early while it is still private and the room rates are still resonably priced.

I had a lovely stay and everything was outstanding, great food, excellent service with smile. Beautiful pools nicely designed and well maintained, so quiet sandy beach. Real place to celebrate great moments with friends and family.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Francis1970 Very good value for price
I stayed with my Family at the Royal begonia for a few days early may, and it was a pretty good experience. The resort was very quiet and calm as no many guests were there at that moment.
My platinum status was well recognized and we were upgraded to a suite with a partial view on the ocean, a full view would have been much better though… One regret, there is no lounge as usual in the resort, and it would be good if you could have at least a happy hour for your platinum guests with some drinks and snaks.
The amenities were globally very good, the resort has several small pools for family activities, and one pool to swim with a correct size, no water slide, but the global layout is different than usual with those small pools and lots of trees and shadow, which is a very good idea.
The beachside is definitely a key asset of this area, much better than in Yalong bay, wilder, but more dangerous, so if you are not a good swimmer, be careful. But anyway there is a guarded area which is large enough if the not too many people.
In terms of F&B, it was pretty good too, Thai and western foods were good, we did not try Chinese.
The staff has a good level of English (at least the management, which is the same as Yalong bay). One big difference with Yalong bay, this place is still affordable with a very good price for quality, basically the drinks at the bar are not more expensive than in a 5* hotel in Guangzhou or Shanghai.
This is still a rising area, under development, there is no doubt that in a short while it will become a serious competitor to Yalong bay.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. Pool area and ocean setting are excellent. Staff throughout the hotel was very responsive and anticipated our needs. As a platinum member I was upgraded to a large suite and was able to partake in a very nice breakfast buffet.
