Rated 5 out of 5 by Verified Reviewer Amazing, unforgettable stay
A superb resort location: in a rain forest, on a private beach (lying on the beach under the rain forest trees with incredible views). Perfect if you want to get away from the madding crowd.
But what also made our stay really unforgettable (and part of the reason for this our second visit) were the staff – from the front desk, to the restaurant managers to the restaurant staff, to the bar staff on the beach, tirelessly patrolling the beach. It wasn’t just the service, although that was always there, and always just right – it was the hospitality and the smiles and the sheer friendliness, which went above and beyond service. Thank you to everyone (too numerous to list here, and I won’t try, for fear of leaving people out) for making our stay so enjoyable and memorable again. We will be back

We had a very relaxing and wonderful stay at The Andaman. After an almost 26 hour journey, it was nice that the concierge set up a car to pick us up at the airport and drive us through the rainforest to the hotel. The concierge and lobby staff were wonderful during our stay.
The welcome drinks get-together on the beach the first night we arrived was a nice touch, where we got to meet many of the staff members. One member that was exceptionally helpful was the butterfly expert! Thanks for all your help and information about the wildlife!
As for the room, we upgraded to a different room facing the bay which was a huge improvement from the previous room that was garden level. Waking up to a beautiful view and ending the day with a sunset was worth it. Plus we loved all the wildlife we saw. Lots of monkeys and flying lemurs. The nature walks were a nice addition and the beach was perfectly relaxing.
As for food, we went to the Gulai House for dinner two nights in a row, next door at The Datai, where we could transfer the bill to the Andaman. Definitely worth eating there! Loved the malaysian and indo chinese offerings. Plus in a magical outdoor setting. We also tried Jala and the other restaurant which were ok. We enjoyed the satay on the beach for a snack.
The only negatives I would say is that the hotel does need some cosmetic changes and improvements, but otherwise the beauty of the location made up for that. Overall, a wonderful stay next time we are visiting family in Singapore and need a quick getaway!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Julie1957 Unacceptable Stay
Maybe our expectations were high after reading all the reviews on the spg website. We ended up with a lot of hassle staying at this resort. Staff over promised on what they would do for us to help us have a memorable stay.
Me and my husband used up our free nights awards for this stay and all I can say that is it totally not worth it. Ended up we have to do every single thing by our own. Requested to pre purchased breakfast, end up nothing is being done. Restaurant staff were rude and not friendly at all by assisting me and my husband. 2 free nights from each of us and it is just a waste.
Even a simple request for extra towel and down pillow would take more than a day to deliver. This is just unacceptable. We are really disappointed with The Andaman.
Phone operator is totally hopeless when you come to request what you need during your stay. They will take more than 12 hours to send you what you have request from last night.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bengalits Relaxing hotel to stay
Indeed a relaxing and nice hotel to stay. Staffs were very accomodating. Foods were sumptuous. Room is great...with super comfy bed and complete amenities. Beach area is ideal for swimming and even by just relaxing. Poolside and pool itself is well maintained. Nature is preserved which made the guest feel more relaxed. Overall rating is superb.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Trvssg Nothing luxurious about this hotel
There is nothing luxurious about this hotel, except its location.
1. Public area is run down. Lifts are old and worn out. Corridors and railings are dirty. Room doors and number plates reminds me of the 80s.
2. Room has moldy smell. Turning on aircon for a long time helps a little.
3. Some furniture is in downright disgusting condition. The surface layer at the end of bed frame is completely gone. Scratches everywhere on the floor, cabinet and table. The cabinet door of the minibar is about to fall off. Room 443 for hotel's reference.
4. Many dirty spots on the bed sheet and the duvet cover. Called service center to change, but was informed that housekeeping is at break, and they can only change the sheet in the turn down service. Ok...
5. Window by the sofa has palm prints all over. Railings in the balcony is spotted with dried bird droppings. I guess they never clean the windows and balcony.
1. Staff are warm and friendly.
2. Good SPG recognition.
3. Location is magical. Nice beach and sunset.
4. Complimentary morning walk was great. Learned a lot about the wildlife in the area.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kasyaf A Perfect Weekend Retreat
It has been almost 20 years since we last visited Langkawi and our recent stay @ Andaman was a perfect reconcilation.
We decided to choose Andaman after reading +ve reviews from guest.
We felt welcome from the inception at the front office and Sue Ann...u are superb...taking us to our room and immediately make us feel at home. Our luggage were send earlier to the rooms.
Upon my earlier request, the resort have accede to upgrade our room for a SEA view.
Their beaches are just Ok but I enjoy the swimming pool. Buffet breakfast are a plenty and they serve pure fresh juices.
For A place to unwind & total relaxation...I would recommend Andaman....TQ for all the team members who made our weekend a pleasant memory....

Rated 5 out of 5 by Istvan64 Excellent with excellent staff
I returned to the Andaman after about 12 years and found it every bit as good as it was back then. This time I went for a birthday. I feel very much at home here. Staff are very attentive and on the ball. No mosquitoes which is a big plus on a tropical island. A rather idiosyncratic fish restaurant with a beech sand floor, but trying hard.
