Stayed only one night in order to be in Phoenix for an early morning flight home. Will definitely come back for a longer stay. This was luxury, with no request left unanswered. All staff were attentive and seemed genuinely concerned that our stay was perfect.

My wife and I have had the pleasure of staying at many places over the years, but this may be at the top of the list. A lot of hotels have nice facilities, but it is certainly the staff at the Canyon Suites that sets this head and shoulders above anywhere else we have ever stayed. From the great crew out front to the staff inside, all were spectacular. Hats off to Danae and Amanda, two special people that made our stay so memorable. Thanks to all. Kathi and Dan.

Having just returned from a wonderful week at The Canyon Suites, I thought I would share a brief appreciation of the extraordinary level of comfort and service we experienced. We have been ardent fans and regular guests of The Phoenician for quite a few years, but finally decided to see just what was happening "up the hill" at The Canyon Suites for our stay this year...and I'm tempted to say that, once done, you may not want to stay anywhere else!
The decor at CS will at first seem somewhat familiar to veteran Phoenician guests, but that's where the family resemblance ends. This is a small-ish resort that caters to its guests in every way -- with a genuinely kind staff that knows your name and wants to make your stay a custom and friendly experience, all without ever seeming the least bit intrusive or overbearing. This is a level of professionalism and obvious caring we have rarely experienced outside of the grande dame resorts of Europe [think Villa d'Este in Cernobbio, for example.]
The suites are capacious with lovely views, and the optional daily amenities are planned to allow just the right amount of potential mingling with other patrons [such as the nightly wine and nibbles in the grand lobby,] so that after a few days, one can be beyond a nodding acquaintance at the resort's private pool, if so desired. Speaking of the pool, which is the literal centerpiece of the resort, it never seemed crowded, especially in comparison to the Phoenician's offerings, but did seem especially kid-friendly...perhaps a function of the dates of our stay? Not an issue for us, really, and Ben's wonderful and attentive poolside team were eager to offer assistance to all takers, from setting up umbrellas and lounges to serving food and drinks. We enjoyed meeting them all, with special thanks also to Jeremy and Chef Jared.
From the warm welcome and continuing care we received from our extraordinary Canyon Ambassadors, Alex and Jordan, to the touching note we received from Damien the morning of our departure, everything about our stay at the The Canyon Suites this year added up to one final point: I booked next year's stay before we even left!

Nearly everything is perfect in this very upend resort. The physical plant is spectacular, the setting is dramatic, and the staff cannot be friendlier or more attentive. With so many world class attributes, it's unfortunate that the dining options are merely good; they don't live up the expectations set by the rest of the operation. Guests like us staying for only two nights will be fine with the two main options on site, but in reality neither restaurant deserves a "destination" designation.

We chose Canyon Suites to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and were blown away. We've never encountered the service, attention and pampering anywhere else. We wanted to go to Paris but health issues prevented that but I'm sure it would have been able to compete with our experience at Canyon Suites. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR MAKING OUR ANNIVERSARY SO MEMORABLE AND SPECIAL.

i so want to give this hotel five stars, however we did encounter a few issues that should not happen for an upper leauge spg hotel:
1. Spg platinum breakfast wss not in compliance with the spg rules. 15 usd per person did not cover a continental breakfast. Restaurant manager invited to a discussion, but did not see the problem. Submitted a complaint after check out, and the hotel admitted the fault and promised to change their policy.
2.pool attendants could be a bit more helpful setting up the chairs, bring towels etc.
3. Plumbing was somewhat noisy as I could clearly hear neighbours take a shower and toilets flush. Ready for some remodelling? And who needs that fax machine in the suite?
Besides those issues, everything was perfect and the spg platinum fantastic.

My husband and I went to The Canyon Suites to celebrate a milestone birthday. It seemed like everyone at The Canyon Suites was in on a surprise party for me, though I know this is how they treat every guest. It started at the entry gate to the Phoenician where the guard called me by name and wished me happy birthday. Then the valet, then the concierge who gave us a tour of the facility and a welcoming snack box. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a view of the pool and the mountain. We were contacted in advance of our arrival by an "ambassador" asking if there's any treat we might enjoy, and we asked for a fruit/cheese plate. They had to make several delivery attempts because we were out of the room but they kept persisting and we appreciated their efforts! Fresh coffee in a silver pot in the morning with a newspaper, delightful. We also enjoyed the pool and a massage at the spa (ask for Debbie!). Dinner at Il Terrazo was another fabulous experience, again personalized with a birthday dessert with my name. This is 5-diamond, 5-star service. Heaven on earth.
