Rated 5 out of 5 by Quite place to stay I stayed at this hotel for three nights during my visit to Salzburg, it's really a quite and peaceful place to stay. This hotel features a sissy museum which open from Wednesday to Sunday or on demand, the museum is small but its architecture is beautiful. Hotel staffs are quite friendly and efficient, and my room is clean and spacious. These are the basic requirements for a five star hotel and I'm happy that I'm not disappointed. It's also has a nice warm indoor swimming poor which is good for this winter season. Based on the service level and facilities, I think it reaches its five star standards and I will definitely recommend this hotel to other travelers. Besides, two things you should know, the first is the distance from the city center, actually, this hotel is located in Hof bei Salzburg, it's a 33 minutes trip by bus 150. Because 150 is a suburban line, you should look up its schedule using Scotty app before you make a decision. If you drive a car, then you need 30 minutes. The second thing is the hotel has a shuttle service takes you to Mirabell palace at 10am, and it's not free(10EUR). To summarize, this hotel is best for traveler who seeks a peaceful and quite place to stay, and doesn't mind its far location. Even though, I recommend you'd better drive a car. October 6, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect stay in gorgeous resort My wife and I have stayed at many SPG hotels and resorts all over the world and Schloss Fuschl is one of the very best. Every interaction we had with a staff member was very positive. They all know to treat guests like a king. I would like to especially recognize Joana Schwarz, Guest Relations Manager, who helped us track down our luggage that the airlines lost on our way to Salzburg. She made several phone calls while we were seeing the sights in Salzburg on our first full day at the resort. We we arrived back at our room the luggage was there. We also lost a cell phone and left money at another hotel and Joana helped us with that as well. We were upgraded to a junior suite withe a view of the lak as Platinum guests. We also received a full breakfast buffet each morning of our stay. The breakfast was one the the best we've had at any hotel with many choice and excellent service. We also received a special chocolate torte I from the hotel when we arrived. The hotel has many amenities to choose from including a spa, pool, beautiful lake with boating and fishing, golf and more. We chose to take a walk around the lake one afternoon and eat dinner in the small town on the far end of the lake. The trail was one of the most beautiful we have seen. When we were finished eating we call the resort and the picked us up. We ate in the restaurant twice in addition to the breakfast. The food is delicious and the service great. Try the weinerschitzel and apple streudel. One evening we sat on the deck overlooking the lake and drank schnapps and listened to Live Austrian music. The room was immaculate with both a tub and a shower. The bathroom had a music system built in. September 29, 2016

Rated 2 out of 5 by Temperature comfort and lack of sufficient upgrade The hotel is beautiful as are the grounds, but we are cutting our stay short as the room temperature is not acceptable. We verified the hotel had AC prior to booking, but were not told it only works under certain lake temperature guidelines so they can be Eco friendly. Well given they put is in a room without screened windows on the ground floor, I am not comfortable leaving the window open for safety purposes. The hotel night manager was also very curt when we ask about a decent upgrade even though it seems the hotel plenty of capacity. Not what I expect from being a Platinum 100+ nights a year customer. Rated 5 out of 5 by One of our favorite hotels! My family and I were so impressed with our recent stay at the Schloss Fuschl. The room and staff were wonderful. We had very positive interactions with every staff member that we met. The food was exceptional. They serve one of the best breakfast buffets that I have ever had. The resort is so charming with its breathtaking landscapes and fascinating history. I have been SPG platinum for years and stay at Starwood hotels/resorts all over the world. Schloss Fuschl is now among my top five favorites and I look forward to returning in the future. August 29, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Luxurious Family Stay My wife and our two small children had a fantastic family stay at Schloss Fuschl. We were a little unsure of the appropriateness of a family stay at such and upscale resort, but from beginning to end we were impressed. We booked a Grand Deluxe Room and requested a rollaway bed for our son. Upon arrival we were happy to receive a Platinum upgrade to a Junior Suite. A bit more room and a welcome upgrade. Each day, we enjoyed a fantastic breakfast spread in the Schloss Restaurant. The breakfast buffet included eggs, bacon, deli meats, an assortment of baked goods, juices, fruits, yogurts, cereals, and more. This was the best hotel breakfast setup our family has ever had. The breakfast was included in our rate, but we did see that it normally costs 30 euros per person. We spent one day of our stay hiking the 10 km trail that wraps around the lake with a halfway point of a small town on the opposite side of the lake from the hotel. After that hike, we spent our afternoon down at the lake Jetty. We had an awesome lunch down at the Jetty restaurant. We highly recommend the boathouse burger with sweet potato fries. After lunch we took a dip in the lake and then laid out on the lounge chairs. The water was very cold, so not so much fun for the kids, but great for adventurous adults. We also enjoyed a family dinner in the Schloss Restaurant one evening. My wife and I both enjoyed the 4 course menu and our son enjoyed his meal. As he was under 5 years old, it was free of charge. The chef even sent out and amuse buche for our son, which consisted of a few French fries and a mini-burger. He loved it and it was a nice touch. Although the the restaurant was very formal, we never felt out of place with our son and infant daughter. We also spent time daily, as a family, down in the indoor Spa pool. A very nice spa pool, saunas, and steam baths. Very few people were using the facilities when we visited so we mostly had the spa to ourselves. When not at the resort, we spent our days in Salzburg walking around. We rented a car as the resort is about a 30 min drive from Salzburg. Excellent, free valet service for each of our arrivals and departures. We truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the Schloss Fuschl to those with families. We did see quite a few strollers parked outside of different rooms throughout our stay so we do know others also brought children. A few other pros were the great Wifi throughout the property and that the concierge's desk arranged an in-room babysitter for my wife and I to have a date night one night of the stay. We did email about a week ahead of time with this request. The only con I had was that the pillows were a little flat, but not horrible or anyworse that have experienced in other European hotels. A great and relaxing escape, but close enough to easily visit Salzburg by car. June 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect is an understatement This hotel sets the standard for all other hotels to aspire to. Location, restaurant, chef, sommelier , views, staff professionalism, spa, pool, nature walks around the lake, are all just perfect. We couldn't want for more and will definitely return when in Salzburg. April 21, 2016
