Rated 2 out of 5 by Hotel Reception Check in on a peak period weekend whereby it's a long holiday + weddings. Serious understaff had to wait more than half hour to get noticed in reception . When ask for a room change was quoted ' you have no choice '. Felt staff had some attitude problem . Complain to the Duty Manager , manage to get a room change. Stay was so unpleasant due to the negative first impression. Check out another nightmare as there was only 1 staff handling reception. More than 10 guest quing in 1 line . I just left my room key at reception n left the property . Gave a call to the hotel operator and quote my room number that I have check out If it's peak period , should have engage more manpower. Was told GM was on leave , wanted to share the feed backs . September 12, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Decent facilities but front office staff needs more training Hotel has decent facilities, its location is slightly out of town but if you prefer to be between Batu Ferringhi and Georgetown its not a bad idea. Best if you have your own transport. Dealing with the front office desk was very disappointing. Couple of issues to highlight: 1) They were unaware of whats the platinum check in bonus and said they can check later on and get back to me. 2) Had 2 rooms and one of the rooms was for 3 person but they were unaware of that. Seem really confused when I mentioned it. 3) During check-in had informed me that they waive the extra bed fee (without me asking) which i appreciated however during check out it was not waived. I was told someone will contact me to discuss this..obviously no one did. F&B 1) Breakfast quality was below average, some items were good. Rated 1 out of 5 by Unsatisfactory It is the second time I have considered this hotel/resort for my family trip, and I have upgraded to Junior Suite room. As usual the room is standard, clean, and comfy. But what upset me most if the staff hired by the hotel are now all foreign workers with limited English and did not show any courtesy towards their guests. I arrived in the hotel with kids and luggage but no one was offering to lift my luggage to the hotel lobby, I have to ask a few times for someone to attend to me. None-theless, I was not immediately attended at the checkin counter as there is basically only one person working at that moment, and it seems like every guests were offered a late check out so I got my key card at about 3-4pm. Later that night, after a long drive from fun and with my kids sleeping in the car, the staff (in brownish uniform) instructed me to park my car at the far corner of the hotel near to the construction site where there have no lights and very dark. There were actually plenty of reserve car park which the staff said was reserved for the guest the next morning. Reserve for next morning? After a few round arguments with the service manager, then I was offered unwillingly the reserved car park. Very disappointed with the drop of service by Four Points when this is the second time I visited this place. Luckily the staff in the breakfast restaurant were all really nice especially the chef which offer the choices personally to myself and my kids. To be honest the chefs have more smiles than the servers. Hotel Manager please consider to retrain majority of your staff. Beach and pool area are still well maintained. August 18, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Extremely bad experience 1) room was not upgraded even though Gold member. Was told by front desk there were a lot of double bookings resulting in insufficiency of rooms and hence no upgrade available. 2) no towels in room when checked-in. Could not call through to Guest Services and contacted Concierge who said they will inform housekeeping. No towels delivered and had to go and hunt down a housekeeper in corridor and request for towels. 3) Went out on morning of 7 Aug, came back and room still not tidied up. 4) Requested for change of towels and was given beach towels. Was told they ran out of bath towels. 5) Went for breakfast on 8 Aug and my name was not in the list. Had to wait for them to conact front desk and subject to a lot of questions. 6) when I check out on 8 Aug, they asked me to pay for another night when I have already made payment. August 8, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very under staff and untrained When I checked in at 3:15pm - only one room was available - was told it will take about an hour to get ready second room. Only received the room at 5pm - and because I chase up several times !! Still had to call up to chase for breakfast voucher as staff did not bring. Seems only one staff can answer question, rest of the staff are basically under training and have no idea ! SPG Really need to step up their hotel chains !! August 8, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Utter disappointment Just when I thought the disappointment couldn't get any lower.. Dialed for housekeeping to request for towels and laundry bag which sadly were not replenished only to be told the following, "You can actually come to the reception at lobby to get the laundry bag, we will give it to you there." Wow. On a positive note, the lady handling the call for in-room dining service has a very friendly tone. It is always a pleasure ordering in-room dining from her. July 28, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Utter disappointment Utter disappointment! Made a few calls to housekeeping for towels, laundry bag and slipper, but all these were not delivered at all! If the housekeeping had been doing their job diligently and provided the towels etc in the first place, there would be no need for me to make these calls and in the end, requested them directly at the front desk! You guys really need to look into this. Also, i believe my 56k dial up connection in the year 2000 has BETTER internet connection speed than the "high speed internet connect " you claim to provide. Rated 3 out of 5 by Disappointed return visit It my 2nd visit to Four Points Penang after impressive first visit during the business trip. Unfortunately it a disappointed visit, when I checked in at 7.30pm notice the room without the TV remote and bath towel. Ask for the towel, wait for 20 minutes; no sign of the towel. Call again and promise send immediately but still no delivery after 10 minutes. With a tired body, have to go down to front desk to request the towel. Front desk page the house keeping and towel on the way as they don't have the towel at the front desk Didn't expect this happen to SPG brand especially I have to call twice,waited for 30 minute and drag my tired body to get the bath towel and later visit here noted a guest just recently comment here in the same issue which they reply will improve the service. While writing this message just realise the toiletries(tooth brush and paste) not available as well. Sigh.... hope no more surprise Stay 23-25 July 2016 July 23, 2016
