I arrived at the hotel, took ages to check in and then went up to my room. I was so annoyed when the room keycard did not work and had to go back down to reception to get a replacement.

Rated 4 out of 5 Ramadan retreat at the Sheraton
We booked just one night at the Sheraton during Ramadan. We were treated to to room with an excellent sea view across the bay in Doha on the 8th floor. The room and bathroom were very clean and well maintained. The reservation included ree wi-fi and breakfast which was served in the roof top restaurant. Breakfast is a wonderful mixture of cold and cooked food; western and asian dishes as well as cereal and juices. The chef created one of the best omelette I have tasted! Ahmed on reception was extremely helpful on check in and polite and freindly when we checked out. Would recommend the hotel; it was extremely quiet around the hotel as it was Ramandan time.

Arrived during Eid holiday, hotel appeared busy with guests but was told many staff had been given vacation ?
Spent 2 days at the beach and pool and could not get any food or drink service, again was told due to the fact many staff off on holiday.
Had a suite but had to close off and not use the living room due to foul smell from aircon, could only use the bedroom for my wife and children. Called and complained to Housekeeping twice and they came and spayed air freshener. Did not fix the problem. Told the staff on checkout about my experience and they apologised and said they would have done something if they had known about it ? Well I did call you twice.

Messrs Sheraton Doha ,
I was stunned at the amount of space available at this hotel more than any hotel I have stayed at across the globe .Usually ,hotels have a hard time finding the right space for their facilities ..here ,you are spoilt for choice .
Everything was great except that the Club lounge does not stand up to its name ..it needs a full revamp ,overhaul and relocation ...it seems the architect who designed the hotel was obsessed with stairs !
Great hotel facilities but in need of a more contemporary touch ...the fact of having to walk all that way from my room to thx health club was not very welcome but manageable .

The overall service needs improvement. Staff needs to be more service oriented. Reception looks very dull, specially marbale walls around compters create distance between staff and guest. It gives an impression that the staff is trying to hide something.It is really frustrating to know that there is NO WIRELESS internet available IN THE ROOMS and it is available only thru cable. Modern days computers do not even have slots for cable networking. When I am on Business trips always try to finish reports and mails in the evening or night time. I went down in the lobby to use my computer. Not in the list of hotel for my next visit.

Living in Doha we decided to take advantage of the Eid break Offer and to stay at The Sheraton as a "Getaway". On arrival the staff were very welcoming and took our luggage to enable an easy check-in. On reaching our room we immediately felt like we were on holiday. The facilities at The Sheraton are excellent. Good coverage around the pool and beach areas. Good choice of restaurants (although Pirates Cove was limited if one didn't each fish). Wide variety of foods for Breakfast and easy and stream-less checkout. One negative point - the balconies, tables and chairs should be cleaned daily due to bird excrement and dust.

NICE HOTEL. WARM WELCOME DURING THE CHECK IN RECEPTIONIST (AHMED) WAS VERY HELPFUL AND POLITE. ONLY HAD AN ISSUE WHEN I WAS TRYING TO ACCESS THE POOL BECAUSE MY OTHER COMPANION WAS ALREADY THERE WAITING FOR ME, THE ATTENDANT WAS RUDE SHE WAS INSITING THAT THE BOOKING FOR OUR 2 ROOMS WAS ONLY FOR 3 PERSONS BUT WHEN I CHECKED IN I SUBMITTED 4 PASSPORTS AND SHE KEEP ON TELLING ME TO GO TO THE RECEPTION AND SHE SAW THAT I WAS WEARING PAJAMA'S AND ACTUALLY I DONT HAVE PLAN TO SWIM WE JUST WANNA HAVE OUR BREAKFAST BY THE POOL SIDE. WE END UP GOING TO THE RECEPTION. AND IN THE RECEPTION I WAS ASSISTED BY NICE RECEPTIONIST WHO CHECK ME OUT MS. ABSALON IF I AM NOT MISTAKEN.

There is something about the hotel, it is probably something as simple as the scale of it internally that makes it a pleasure to visit and its physical presence architecturally. Staff great, facilities great, location terrific. Some of the menus were uninspired but the staff were very helpful in modifying the menu to give us what we wanted. My only criticism is that the shower cubicle could have been cleaner with a build up of scale and dirt between the marble tiles, but that really is a minor thing in the overall.
The world is full great hotels but there's something wonderful about being at the Sheraton Doha.

I had a pretty smooth stay during my recent business trip to Doha. Sheraton Doha has been always been my favorite place given its close proximity to West Bay, its fantastic views of Doha's Bay area as well as the amenities including the Club Lounge.
The hotel staff in general was very supportive and attentive to guest needs.
The only thing that disturbed me a lot in my current trip was that the Club Lounge staff were very selective/different in their approach to welcoming, being attentive etc to guests belonging different nationalities. And for this very reason i will never repeat my stay at this venue as i frequent the club lounge a lot, otherwise the hotel as a whole is fantastic.

When i arrived my room was not ready even though i booked for the late arrival that night and i paid for the same full night and the reception person told me in my face sorry i gave your room to some one else already he keep me waiting and the he upgraded me to another one which was in-front of the construction, people are less knowledgeable about the quality of service they have to give in a 5 start hotel practically to a loyal SPG customer, more than once i ask them if a car if ready for me to my meeting and they say says and still when i go down i wait for more than 10 minuets ...etc

I was very disappointed with my stay at the Sheraton Doha. I had stayed at this hotel a number of times in the past, and had been happy with it. But, this time they ignored my requests, did not care whether I am SPG member or not, my colleague who is not an spg member, was assigned a better room than me. My room was noisy being on 1st floor, and it needed a lot of improvement. At my behest they changed the safe, and the bed after I threatened to leave the hotel. I did not bother to complain about other defects, e.g. shaver point in bathroom which did not work most of the time.

As my reservations were mixed up I did not have a room to stay on my first night . The hotel was fully booked except for the executive suites and despite being a gold SPG member, was requesting for exorbitant rate which was well beyond my budget. Although reception staff tried their best to reduce the rate of the room, the manager was not receptive or willing to help out. Also the hotel reception had no clue how to help me to find another hotel in the city and did not even provide a telephone directory to call other hotels. One individual employee who knew me from previous stays tried his best to help me, however as an organisation, the hotel had no sense of customer care or willingness to help a very regular client.

Much waiting time at check-in; receptionist advised owing to system issues. Not upgraded; receptionist advised hotel is full. After check-out, had to follow-up to recieve full SPG points credit.
Room and comfort fine, the sea-view great from high floor balcony. Good service from concierge and bell-boys. Don't expect 24hrs assistance from Business centre or to be spoiled for choice on Food & Beverage outlets - they're showing sign of age and the offering leaves much to be desired.
But it's worth it should you have time to enjoy the beach.

1. Checkin took forever - others arrived after me and were processed faster. The person on the desk was very slow and incompetent.
2. Asked for non-smoking room and was told that I was not currently booked into one but he would try hard. Informed me that he had found one and the room was non-smoking but then i get to the room and find it is smoking! Why bother lying to me.
3. The noise was unbearable. The nightclub and the noise from the atrium went till 2 am and I had meetings next day at 6 am. How do you expect business people to work when you can't sleep?
4. Front desk did not recognise that i was already a starwood member and created a new membership for me
Stayed in the hotel before and thought only ok. But , if I can find alternative in Doha I will stay there.

I have stayed in this Hotel a number of times and I am a Starwoods Gold Card Holder. Before I went to check out, I rang down from my room, to get my luggage collected from the room, (one suitcase, one briefcase and a computer bag). I went to reception, checked out and despite entreaties to numerous staff it took a total of 25 minutes to get my luggage loaded into the car taking me to the Airport. This was completely unacceptable; it was just as well that I had allowed plenty of time before my flight !!!

Stayed in the Doha Sheraton for the 2nd time and enjoyed stay very much. Gorgeous buffet, both breakfast and dinner. Friendly staff, clean room, great view on Corniche. Wonderful beach area and great hotel park. Very close to Business district. Staff was helpful whatever my requests were. Only minor problems: although prepaid by my travel agency staff wanted to charge us for 3rd bed. Manager took care of this issue excellently. Don't go to bar/disco on first floor level unless you are in for quick and possibly expensive acquaintances with Asian women who will wait for you there...Also the Pakistani run travel agency in the hotel can not be recommended, rather use the one next to the reception. Forget the spa and fitness center, it's outside the hotel complex and difficult to arrange for.

• Major problem with the valet parking. They've parked my car all night under a tree, while they kept the windows (intentionally) opened. The next morning bird feces where all over the car including the interior of the car (window, door and seat). To make it even worse, non of the staff informed me, nor the hotel offered to clean it after I complained. Defiantly, not a 5-star treatment, and mistreatment of their guests belongings.
• Drunk men in the lobby and elevators at mid-nigt, harassing women (including me and my family) with no security around.
• Poor quality of in-room dinning food, combined to high prices.
• Room facilities are old and did not meet my needs.
My stay at The Sheraton Doha wasn't a pleasant stay at all. I don't recommend staying in the hotel for all the reasons listed above.

This is not a new hotel and therefore has had time to build character. It has ambience unlike new hotels which tend to be sterile.My wife immediately fell in love with the room. The room was very comfortable as was the sitting area and the bathroom. The neatness and cleanliness were both first class. The balcony and view were both superb although the balcony door resisted opening and closing. The breakfast was outstanding and the evening buffet perfect. I have been working and travelling around the world for more than forty years and the staff at this hotel were probably the best I have encountered. More than friendly and more than helpful making you want to return again. Which we definitely will. The downside is that all hotels in Doha lack a taxi rank outside but this is generic for all Doha hotels

Staff at the reception needs more training to receive and recognize guests with Starwood status. When I checked-in, although I was greeted with many smiles, but I was not acknowledged much less recognized as being the Platinum member. Nor was I offered any amenities that a Platinum member is entitled to. Later, when I spoke to Mr. Rauel, the Duty Manager, he acted very professionally and mitigated all my concerns – he really impressed me and made the rest of my stay very pleasant.

I would certainly return to this hotel again. Although we live in Doha, we chose to come here for an evening's getaway. The Club Lounge was a brilliant experience, and Mr Saman and Ms Shanika took care of us with 100% attention to detail. The room was EXCEPTIONALLY clean and well-presented; the hotel was clean; the gym is excellent; breakfast was perfect. Though the price is a little more than other hotels in Doha, it was worth the extra expense for the quality we received.

i stayed for 1 day with my family in Eid 30/10/2012 . we all love the hotel.the front disk staff very helpful . the room very large and have every things u need. only the TV reception on the large TV is bad. the area a round the pool is very beautiful. the guy in the reservation room was very helpful and recommend me to go for the club lounge room , it was the perfect choice i like it. thanks to every staff from A to Z , plz keep this hotel on the top sky as always .

I have traveled to Doha, Qatar every other month for the past 8 months. The Sheraton has greatly simplified my travel. The location is convenient, they will provide you with all the amenitities any traveler needs including a clean room, spectacular service, a workout gym, excellent restaurants, and car services to wherever you may need to go. They will help you cover any arrangements you may have forgotten or omitted.

Much of what I wanted to write has been already said but without question the Sheraton Doha is iconic - both within the Middle East and for Starwood itself. I first stayed here the year it opened and the high standards have been maintained and enhanced over the years. Perhaps this is due to it having it's own unique atmosphere but no Hotel I stay in comes anywhere close. There are many many features and staff
I would like to mention but there are just too
many. But those who have a naturally ability to anticipate what can be done to make a guests stay comfortable are those who deserve some mention. Full marks must go to Mr Sherif and his team with special mention to Ms Layla ; Mr Nelson and Mr Lijo from F&B who both genuinely go out of their way to anticipate needs and know the meaning of service.
I could gush on but enough said. It is truly a fabulous 'second home'.

- The front desk: Excellent service
- The room: very clean and well furnished
- The fiteness center: Very good. The young guy at the reception of the fitness center is not as professional as one might expect in Sheraton hotels.
- Restaurant: The breakfast taken at 10:00 am is really not good. If you serve the breakfast from 6 to 10:30, it should be perfect during the whole period. This may be easilly improved.
