The below information is meant for informational purposes only. For complete terms and conditions of the SPG program, including, without limitation, the SPG Pro program, please read the Terms and Conditions of the SPG Program. In the event of a conflict between any of the information presented below and the terms and conditions of the SPG program, the terms and conditions of the SPG program will control.

Your Membership

  • What is SPG Pro?

    SPG Pro is a loyalty program designed to reward our business-to-business customers for the business they bring to SPG Participating Hotels.

  • Who is qualified to be a member of SPG Pro?

    Professional meeting planners and travel agents are eligible to join the SPG Program with the SPG Pro designation. Qualified executive assistants who live and work outside of the United States or Canada are also eligible to join the SPG Program with the SPG Pro designation.

  • Can I enroll my company or agency in SPG Pro to earn Starpoints?

    No, SPG Pro offers individual memberships only.

  • What credentials does Starwood recognize for participation in SPG Pro as a travel professional?

    IATA, CLIA, ARC, TRUE and TIDS numbers are all recognized by Starwood.

  • I'm trying to enroll as an executive assistant but do not know my SET Number. What should I do?

    Your SET number is a unique identifier Starwood has assigned to your company. If you do not know your SET number, please contact your Starwood Sales Associate.

  • I am not a professional meeting planner but am responsible for booking and planning one or more meetings per year. Am I eligible to receive Starpoints for my meetings?

    Yes, any SPG Member who books an Eligible Event with a SPG Participating Hotel is eligible to receive Starpoints for the event as outlined in the signed contract.

  • I am an executive assistant and was invited to join SPG Pro by my Starwood Sales Associate. I also plan meetings at my company. Should I join as an executive assistant or a meeting planner?

    In order to earn for the bookings you make for others, you must join as an SPG Pro Executive Assistant. During the registration process, you should identify yourself as both a meeting planner and an executive assistant who books on behalf of others.

  • I am travel professional and also help my client's book their groups and meetings. Should I join as an executive assistant or a meeting planner?

    In order to earn for the bookings you make for others, you must join as an SPG Pro Travel Professional. During the registration process, you will have the option of identifying yourself as a meeting planner as well.

  • I am an SPG Pro Executive Assistant. If I leave my company for a new job, can I still be a member of SPG Pro?

    If your new company allows you to earn Starpoints for bookings made for travelers at your company and you are otherwise eligible, you may remain a member of SPG Pro. You will need to update your SPG Pro profile to reflect your new company name and SET #. (If you don't know your company's SET number, please contact your Starwood Sales Representative.)

    If you are no longer booking on behalf of others, please update your profile accordingly. If your new company doesn't allow you to accept Starpoints for bookings made for travelers, you will keep Starpoints earned and posted to your account, however you will not eligible to earn additional Starpoints for bookings you make for travelers at your company.

  • My friend books travelers for his or her company. What does he or she need to do to join SPG Pro?

    If you have a friend who might be qualified to join for the program, please introduce him or her to your Starwood Sales Associate.

  • I am a travel professional but my agency or company does not allow me to participate and earn points through hotel loyalty programs. Can I still be an SPG Pro member?

    Yes, please consider joining SPG Pro as an SPG Pro Travel Professional even if you are not permitted by your company or agency to accept Starpoints or are otherwise not eligible to earn Starpoints. You will benefit from the educational content offered through the program. If you are not eligible to earn Starpoints for any reason, during the SPG Pro enrollment process, select "No" when asked if you are eligible to accept Starpoints. Be sure to opt in to our communications to learn of special offers, new hotel openings, and other timely updates.

  • My company no longer allows me to accept points for bookings I make for others. What do I need to do?

    Logon to your account at spg.com and access the My Account section. In the terms and conditions section of your profile you are asked whether you are allowed to accept Starpoints for bookings. If you cannot, select "No".

Earning

  • What do I receive when I book an Eligible Event?

    Any SPG Pro member who books an Eligible Event with an SPG Participating Hotel is eligible to receive Starpoints for the event as outlined in the signed contract. An SPG Pro member also earns one (1) Eligible Night toward earning elite status for every 20 room nights that are booked and paid for in connection with the Eligible Event at an SPG Participating Hotel. A maximum of 20 Eligible Nights can be earned for each Eligible Event. Once the Eligible Event occurs and the bill is paid in full, the Starpoints and Eligible Nights will be posted to the SPG Pro member's account.

  • When will I receive my Starpoints for an Eligible Event?

    The applicable SPG Participating Hotel is responsible for posting Starpoints to an SPG Member's account based on the information in the contract after the final bill has been settled. This can take approximately 3-4 weeks depending on the accounting practices of the hotel. Please contact your Starwood Sales Associate with whom you signed the contract to check on the status of your Starpoints.

  • I've not received Starpoints for an Eligible Event that occurred at an SPG Participating Hotel more than a month ago. The bill has been paid in full. What should I do?

    Please complete a missing Starpoints form. The SPG Pro team will contact the hotel on your behalf. Missing Starpoints Form.

  • Can I earn Starpoints for past events?

    The terms and conditions of the SPG Program require that an SPG Member's account number be included in the contract signed with the sales & catering office prior to the dates of the Eligible Event in order to earn Starpoints. For more information on earning Starpoints for Eligible Events, please see the SPG Program Terms.

  • What do I receive when I book a room on behalf of someone else?

    When an SPG Pro Travel Professional or SPG Pro Executive Assistant makes an eligible booking on behalf of someone else, the SPG Pro member can receive Starpoints®. The SPG Pro member can also earn one Eligible Night towards meeting the Gold Minimum Requirement and the Platinum Minimum Requirement for every 20 room nights that he or she books on behalf of someone else. Once the eligible booking occurs and the bill is settled, the Starpoints and Eligible Nights will be posted to the SPG Pro member's account.

  • When will I receive my Starpoints for bookings I made for others?

    If you are an SPG Pro Travel Professional or SPG Pro Executive Assistant, Starpoints will be deposited directly into your SPG Member account after travel is complete and paid for; typically within 5 days of departure. You can track your Starpoints earned on spg.com/pro.

  • If I am a SPG Pro Executive Assistant or an SPG Pro Travel Professional, will I earn more Starpoints for bookings on behalf of others if I reach Gold or Platinum elite status?

    Yes.

    • An SPG Pro Executive Assistant or SPG Pro Travel Professional who is a Gold Preferred Guest or a Platinum Preferred Guest will earn 1 Starpoint for every $2 US dollar or the currency equivalent that is incurred and paid for the SPG Pro Executive Assistant Booking or SPG Pro Travel Professional Booking (excluding charges for incidentals, taxes, gratuities, and related charges), which is a 50% bonus over Preferred Guest status.
    • An SPG Pro Executive Assistant or SPG Pro Travel Professional member who is a Platinum Preferred Guest with a minimum of 75 Eligible Nights will earn 2 Starpoints for every $3 US dollar or the currency equivalent that is incurred and paid for the SPG Pro Executive Assistant Booking or SPG Pro Travel Professional Booking (excluding charges for incidentals, taxes, gratuities, and related charges), which is a 100% bonus over Preferred Guest status.
  • What benefits will I receive when I become a Gold Preferred Guest or Platinum Preferred Guest ?

    As a SPG Pro member, if you become a Gold Preferred Guest or Platinum Preferred Guest, you will earn bonus Starpoints for every eligible transaction. To learn more about all program benefits, visit spg.com.

  • How will I make sure I receive Starpoints when I make a booking on behalf of others as an SPG Pro Travel Professional or SPG Pro Executive Assistant?

    When making a booking through any Starwood website, enter your SPG Member account number in the SPG Pro/booker field. When calling a property directly or making a reservation through a Starwood Customer Contact Center, give them your SPG member account number to record on the reservation. If you are an SPG Pro Travel Professional and are making a booking through a Global Distribution Service, enter your SPG Member account number using the required format in the "Special Instructions" or "SI" field.

  • What is the required format for entering my SPG Member account number in a Global Distribution Service?

    For a Global Distribution Service, you should enter SPGTA followed immediately by your personal SPG Member account number and a space. If your SPG member account number is 123456789, you would enter SPGTA123456789. The space will help us ensure that any additional comments are kept separate. Even if you don't have additional comments, you need to enter the space.

  • Will I get credited if I don't give my SPG Member account number when making a booking?

    In order to earn Starpoints and Eligible Nights and Eligible Stays towards meeting the Gold Minimum Requirement and the Platinum Minimum Requirement in the SPG Program, you must provide your SPG Member account number in connection with the booking and the booking must occur and be paid for after October 15, 2014.

  • I am an SPG Pro Member and designated as an SPG Pro Executive Assistant. Our company sometimes uses a travel agent for our room reservations. Will I be able to receive points for such a reservation?

    Starpoints will only be credited to your account if the booking has occurred and been paid for, your SPG Member account number was provided in connection with the booking and the booking was made by you via one of the Starwood Websites, via an SPG App, through a Starwood Customer Contact Center, or with the SPG Participating Hotel directly.

  • If I book a room for myself, how will I earn Starpoints?

    If you book and stay at an SPG Participating Hotel under an Eligible Rate, you will earn Starpoints as a guest pursuant to the SPG program and not as a part of SPG Pro. The Starpoints earned for your room will post to your SPG Pro account as a stay transaction.

  • What will be considered SPG Travel Professional Bookings for an SPG Pro Travel Professional?

    SPG Travel Professional Eligible Bookings are bookings made, at an eligible publicly available, commissionable room rate, through a Global Distribution System, a Starwood Website, an SPG App, by calling the Starwood Customer Contact Center or the SPG Participating Hotel directly for SPG Participating Hotels, or on a Starwood Website, an SPG App, or by calling the Starwood Customer Contact Center for an SPG Partner Hotel. The booking must be correctly tagged with your SPG Member account number.   • As an SPG Pro member who has added my SPG Member account number to a booking for my client or colleagues, can my client or colleague still earn Starpoints for a stay as a guest?

    Yes, both the SPG Pro member and the person for whom the room was booked will both earn Starpoints on an SPG Travel Professional Booking of an Eligible Rate at an SPG Participating Hotel. The SPG Pro member will earn Starpoints for making the SPG Travel Professional Booking and the SPG Member will earn Starpoints as guest for an Eligible stay.

  • I earned 11.9 Eligible Nights. Will you round that to 12?

    We will not round Eligible Nights to the next whole number, but partial Eligible Nights will be accrued and combined together.

  • Will Starwood continue to offer Travel Professional Learning and Development programs?

    Yes. The Travel Professional Learning & Development Program, ProLearning, will be available for SPG Pro Travel Professionals. Log in to spg.com and click the ProLearning section to view all ProLearning modules.

  • Does SPG Participating Hotels offer travel professional rates, and how do I get access to them?

    All SPG Pro Travel Professionals who graduate from module one, Loyalty and Brands, of ProLearning will have access to travel professional experience rates called STARPRO. You can access the exclusive page from the ProLearning section of spg.com.
