Over 1800 NACTA Travel Professional members were asked to vote on their choice for Supplier of the Year in 6 categories. Starwood Hotels & Resorts was the winner in two: 2012 NACTA Land Based Supplier of the Year and the overall award for 2012 NACTA Supplier of the Year.
Travel agents in the Western U.S. recognized Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. and our travel professional program, StarwoodPro with the annual TravelAge West WAVE (Western Agents’ Votes of Excellence) award for Best Travel Agent Support. The WAVE Awards give travel agent professionals throughout the 14 Western states the opportunity to recognize the outstanding qualities and services of their travel supplier partners. TravelAge West is the leading trade magazine for travel agents and the travel industry in the 14 western states. This marks the third year Starwood has won this coveted award.
Starwood was recognized with three Travel Weekly Readers Choice Awards in
2012. The nominees and award recipients were chosen in several rounds of voting
by Travel Weekly’s readers. Travel Weekly, the national newspaper of the travel
industry, is the most influential provider of news, research, opinion and
analysis to the North American travel trade marketplace. An open ballot phase
of voting was conducted last summer, during which readers were invited to write
in the names of any company they believed best exemplified a particular
category. Starwood was recognized as finalists in 10 categories. Starwood
won:
• Westin – Best Upper Upscale Brand
• Starwood – Best Hotel Chain in Hawaii and South Pacific
• St. Regis Bora Bora – Best Hotel / Resort Worldwide.

industry leader and innovator by Travel Weekly. The company has won three
Travel Weekly Magellan Awards in the 2012 competition.

Travel Weekly’s Ninth Annual Readers Choice awards recognized Starwood Hotels & Resorts in three cateogories. The readers of Travel Weekly determine the nominees, finalists and the ultimate winners in these annual awards.
Starwood Hotels & Resorts was a THREEPEAT winner in the Hawaii’/South Pacific category, bringing home the top prize again this year.
Starwood was also the recipient of the Best Resort Worldwide for the St. Regis Bora Bora for the fourth year in a row.
