Known as “The City of Silk” and one of China’s four major silk-producing cities, Huzhou is located south of Lake Taihu in the northern part of Zhejiang Province. Dating back more than 2,300 years, Huzhou is also the birthplace of tea culture. Sheraton Huzhou Hot Spring Resort is about one hours by car from Xiaoshan International Airport (HGH) in Hangzhou.

Don’t miss the unique Feiying Ta Pagoda (Tali Ta). Located in the city center and originally built in the 8th century, this nationally protected cultural relic is a pagoda within a pagoda. The outer structure is made of wood and bricks, and the inner tower is made of stone. Also see the 14th-century Temple of the Iron Buddha (Tiefo Si). At the Anji Bambbo Museum, view the beautiful forests showcasing more than 300 species and learn about the history and culture of bamboo.
For a taste of the outdoors, visit Mogan Mountain. One of China’s best summer resorts, the picturesque area is filled with wild bamboo, hundreds of springs and waterfalls, and some 200 villas representing various architectural styles from all over the world. Visitors can enjoy more nature at Lake Taihu. Famous for its limestone formations, this scenic and popular attraction is China’s third-largest freshwater lake and home to about 90 islands. Golfers can play a round at the Huzhou Hot Springs Golf Club, rated the #1 golf course in China. And be sure to shop for the famous Biluochun green tea, lovely silk fans, and calligraphy and painting brushes made from goat, rabbit, and weasel hair.
