The St. Regis Mauritius Resort - The 1904 Bar

The 1904 Bar

The St. Regis Mauritius Resort
The 1904 Bar

Defined by signature St. Regis bespoke service and refined surroundings, The 1904 Bar concurrently celebrates the original architecture of the Manor House, with its buzzing indoor bar and outdoor terrace.

Overlooking the resort’s pool, the terrace’s smooth checkerboard floors house a hanging sofa bed as well as inviting couches and armchairs. By day, the bright island sunshine illuminates the diaphanous drapes that line the railings, while at night myriad lanterns, candles, and standing lamps emit a idyllic glow that harmonizes with the live Jazz music emanating from the indoor bar area.

Here, light green walls, white cornices, and a compelling combination of refined and raw natural materials delineate intimate seating areas with upholstered wooden sofas and armchairs, and a horseshoe-shaped brown granite bar. An original King Cole mural behind the bar features the subtle, rich tones found throughout the space, while discreet local nuances add an authentic, warm elegance to the clean, colonial lines.

The cultured environment is also present in the bar’s bespoke cocktails, which include The St. Regis Mauritius Resort's custom creation: La Belle Creole Mary. Inspired by the warm currents of the Indian Ocean, this signature mixture is an interpretation of tropical island traditions and features trademark touches such as plantation rum and aloe vera juice. Another specialty is The Connoisseur’s Choice, while similarly innovative snacks include Mushroom Tarts and Lagoon Berry Fish and Chips.
