The St. Regis Monarch Beach
As part of the Family Traditions at St. Regis program, families can choose from a selection of activities to experience together while exploring the enriching culture of the destination. We look forward to creating indelible memories for your family to share.
OC Beach Wildlife Experience
Families are invited to explore the breathtaking views and wildlife of the California Riviera. On this private, guided tour, discover local hidden beach coves, learn about ocean wildlife including seals and sea lions, explore tidal pools, and learn about ocean preservation. Round-trip transportation is provided from the resort for added convenience. This experience is approximately four hours, and includes beverages, a light snack, and scenic walking. It is suggested that families bring a backpack to store personal items. Please wear weather-appropriate attire as well as tennis or water shoes (sandals are not permitted).
Catamaran Adventure Whale-Watching Cruise
Take an extraordinary two-and-a-half-hour whale-watching adventure aboard a high-tech catamaran sailboat. A seasoned captain will educate families on the abundant ocean life and offer rare glimpses into a variety of underwater wildlife and unforgettable scenic views. As a memento of this exhilarating excursion, you will receive a copy of the book Lily: A Grey Whale’s Odyssey written and signed by Captain Dave, an advocate for saving whales and dolphins from entanglement. These excursions depart Dana Point Harbor daily. The spacious catamaran features eye-to-eye underwater viewing pods, a hydrophone for listening underwater, a small collection of dolphin and whale artifacts, live trip broadcasting at WhaleWatchingTV.com, and Captain Dave’s wife’s triple-fudge brownies.
These experiences are perfectly suited for a family of four (two adults and two children), but can always be customized. The Concierge is pleased to provide more details and to help make arrangements. To reserve an experience, it is recommended that guests contact the Concierge at least 24 hours in advance.
