Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas Resort
Resort Refurbishment until Early 2016
From May 2015 until early 2016, a thorough $40 million upgrade will result in a revitalisation of the resort’s 294 guest rooms and public areas. This refurbishment has been strategically planned in stages across six separate room blocks to ensure that at least 200 rooms are available at all times. We do not expect any impact on the typical guest experience during this transition, and disruptions will be kept to a minimum.
The resort is currently in the second phase of this project, with works in the main complex, including Lagoons Restaurant and the main lobby areas.
In the main lobby complex, the reception desk has been temporarily repositioned adjacent to the main driveway.
The buffet restaurant Lagoons is closed to make way for the creation of a new buffet dining experience. During this phase, daily buffet breakfast will be hosted in the designated Mirage Ballroom. Il Pescatore will remain open daily from 5pm for snacks and beverages, and from 6pm for dinner. It will also feature a barbecue seafood buffet on Friday & Saturday evenings. Additionally, Ocean Breeze Bar will open at 10am.

Check Cashing Policy
Check cashing services are not available.
Connecting rooms are available but not guaranteed and need to be requested. Please contact the hotel directly to make these arrangements.
Credit Card Policy
All credit card payments must be confirmed via PIN number. Signatures will not be accepted. A 1.5 percent fee applies to all transactions settled by Credit Card. This fee will be added to the total of the transaction.
Rates confirmed in USD are guaranteed in U.S. dollars when paid in U.S. cash or traveler's checks. Payments made by credit cards at the hotel will be charged in the local currency equivalent based on the daily exchange rate used by the hotel. Currency conversions by banks or credit card companies in processing payments are not within the control of the hotel and are subject to exchange rate fluctuations.
Early Departure Policy
An early departure fee of one night's room and tax applies to guests checking out prior to their departure date. Guests may be able to change their departure date without penalty at the time of check-in, depending on the terms of the rate which they have reserved. Early Arrival Policy
We are pleased to accommodate early arrivals, based on availability. For guaranteed early arrivals, guests must reserve the room for the previous night, at the best available room rate.
Extra Bedding Policy
Please note, king bedded rooms will only accommodate two adults. Any children or third adult will be charged per night. Twin rooms are more suitable as there is no additional charge if children are using existing bedding in a twin bedded room. Baby cots can be provided for children up to 2 years (fee applies). The ages of children should be included in the reservation.
Family Plan Policy
Children 17 and under sleep free in existing room bedding. Rollaways, child rollaways and cribs will incur extra charges.
Children ages 3 and under dine for free in Lagoons Restaurant. Children between the age of 4 and 12 can dine from the children's menu.
Children between the age of 2 and 12 years travel on airport shuttle bus at children prices. Children under 2 years of age travel free. Please note, there are no baby seats in the coach service.

LAte Checkout Policy
Late checkouts are subject to availability. A fee will apply if checking out after 1pm.
Maximum room capacity (for a room with two twin beds) is 2 adults and 2 children.
Package Handling Policy
Please note that any external deliveries to villas will not be accepted before 3:00 PM daily.
Pets are not allowed. Only service animals are allowed; however, prior arrangement will need to be made. Please contact the hotel directly for assistance.
Non-registered guests or visitors of registered guests are not permitted in the pool area. For safety and comfort reasons, any activity the hotel deems potentially disruptive (including jumping or diving into the pool) is not permitted. Please note that there is no lifeguard on duty.
All guest rooms, balconies and public spaces are 100% non-smoking. A 300 AUD cleaning fee will be charged to any guest who violates the smoking policy. Smoking is only permitted in designated outdoor areas of the resort.
