Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful Hotel with Great Service Beautiful hotel with stunning grounds, numerous foutains, nicely manicured gardens and great views of the ocean, especially at sunset. The Beach Club restaurant has good food (and is right on the beach!), while the Lobby Bar makes great drinks, coupled with impeccable service. Our personal butler, Bill, was great - attending to all our needs (getting clothing pressed, recommending restaurants, bringing us local maps, bringing French press coffee in the morning etc.) - he must have done a lot of walking serving us, as the hotel grounds are expansive! One relatively minor criticism is that the tram service to the Beach Club can be a biy spotty, especially during off season. The first evening just before dusk, it passed us twice while we were waiting for it at the designated spot (some of the pick-up locations are also not well-marked). We ended up waiting for 30 minutes and then gave up. The next day we had better luck in catching it down to the Beach Club for lunch. January 19, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Over the top at Steve Regis OMG this place is paradise. Johnny the General Manager is the best as was well the staff. This is the 7th time I have been here and I am in love...The Beds are the most comfortable ever. They tell me they are Simmons Beautyrest Black made for the Hotel. Wonderful people. April 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fabulous hotel in every way My husband and I had a perfect experience recently at the resort. Everything we expected was achieved, and even far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, till the moment we sadly had to check out, it was bliss. The concierge service was impeccable and professional. I would highly recommend this resort. July 23, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Must Visit The visit exceeded any expectations I would have had. The staff made the visit, especially the Concierge who took great pains to get me to the airport on time. I was impressed that the staff knew your name and greeted you by name each time you were seen by them. I met the manager and he took the time to listen to me. April 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by St. Regis Resort, the Greatest Resort Ever! This resort is extremely relaxing and comforting. The room was very comfortable, and extremely clean. The Italian marbled floor was exquisite, and the sunk-in bathtub was very relaxing. The food was excellent, and the staff was very professional and welcoming. I would strongly recommend this hotel to other people. December 3, 2013

I loved my 5 day stay here. My husband and I have stayed in Starwood properties all over the US and Europe and have had exceptional rooms and service. October 23, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by bathroom We had a flood in the bathroom mud like stuff came thru the pipes. Never seen anything like it. We woke up to a nightmare couldn't shower or use the bathroom. They gave us some money back but they should have re-funded the cost off the room. I'm a platinum member and I was not happy I have pictures of the bathroom January 3, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Too Loud property is great. we stayed in one of the ground floor suites. room is beautiful, but at the very end of the hotel. unfortunately, we woke up at 6:00 am when the guests above us were running their bath. it was so loud, my wife and I thought it was our bath running. Rated 5 out of 5 by Luxury in southern California I loved this hotel which reeks of opulence and comfort. Great facilities excellent service but be prepared to pay for the privilege. Breakfast can be very expensive if you order a la carte as they generally don't show the option of a $20. Continental unless you specifically ask...this option is really very good. May 27, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Simply wonderful resort We came for a birthday getaway and got a birthday experience. A truly beatiful location and stellar staff. It is very rare to be in an environment with so many things to do. We didnt need to leave to find great activities, and dining between the breathtaking walks on the beach. Rated 3 out of 5 by What a disappointment Beautiful property, but I was very disappointed in the quality of the food and beverage (except the Mina restaurant which was good) and the service level. Trying to get another drink at the bar was like pulling teeth. Also there were no plugs near the desk in the guest room, which is unheard of in today's world. March 4, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 beautiful resort The rooms are commodious well decorated and immaculate. The bathrooms are large beautiful with dual sinks and a wc.The maid service is top notch and you will never see a cart. The grounds are cleaner than a hound's tooth. The food quality is high and expensive. If you are on a budget don't come to this resort. October 25, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Recycle I found it odd there were no obvious green recycle bins outside nor in the rooms for plastics and paper. Resort is first class, but they nickel and dime you for just about everything. Water, parking, etc. The staff works hard and they treat you very well overall. April 7, 2014

Would like to recognize Guy (?) in the outdoor cafe/bar who provided customer service & conversation above and beyond expectations. June 28, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Something to be desired Dear, manager My husband and I stayed in your hotel for one night. The overall service we received was exceptional. But I'd like to mention a couple of things about food and house keeping. We went to the bakery shop on 5th floor in order to grab a sandwich. The staff told us it would not served until 11am and encourged us to go to Motif restaurant. We went downstaris, however, we couldn't find any sandwich menu and I just ordered a cup of latte. Actually, it was not good. It was just tepid and not like espresso drink. It was just like regular coffee with warm milk. Later we came back our room. When my husband wanted to take a shower, he found that we've ran out of shampoo and then he called to ask more. We had waited for 20 min. and called again and had waited for another 20 min. Shampoo was never delivered to our room. I hope you'll consider my comments for better service. We'll look forward to staying with you again when our plans call for travel to Dana point. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Hotel We spend two incredible days at this hotel in a junior suite. The room was great and the service was great too. As with most hotels, it can use additional outlets near the bed for charging phones and computers, but otherwise, everything was well done. April 13, 2014

A special mention to Sarah - cocktail waitress who works during the day at the main hotel bar. Her service and attentiveness to myself & my family was excellent. I look forward to returning! Michael Mina's restaurant is the finest in California. The dinner service at Motiff was hands down the worst we have ever had at any restaurant and detracted from the stay. October 7, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Only Yuppie Deserts Excelent hotel. Great staff. Here is my only mild dissapointment. We stopped at the Motiff one night for desert. All of the choices were upscale fancy yuppie type of items. There were no simple things like pies, cakes, or ice creams. A good apple crisp with a scoop of vanilla would have made my night. From check-in to diner to relaxing on the patios the staff has been so nice. Surprising us with champaign and beers was awesome. The stay has exceeded our expectations and we will be back each year. The conference facilities were impeccable, the catering was outstanding, and the support staff handled every request promptly and efficiently. And the breakfast cinnamon rolls were out of this world! Rated 5 out of 5 by Fabulous anniversary getaway We had a delightful weekend at the St. Regis and plan to return for our anniversary next year. The room was lovely and service impeccable. It was nice having a separate pool area for families so pool time was relaxing. Too bad we didn't discover the walk to the beach until the morning we left! September 9, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Service Above and Beyond, True 5 Star Experience Once again our stay at the St. Regis Monarch Beach went above and beyond ALL expectations. We book nights here for all of our celebratory occasions because we love how special the staff makes us feel. I surprised my husband with our recent stay, bringing him to celebrate his bday and I could not be happier with how well taken care of we both felt. We can never get over how we always feel as if we are one of the only guests at the hotel even though it is very apparent that we are not. For my husband's bday I had quite a few requests for our room and amenities and all of them were executed flawlessly and with great detail. For this stay we booked a St. Regis Suite and it was perfection! The sophistication of the layout and amenities left nothing to be desired, only made it hard to leave. If you are looking for a true 5 Star experience, look no further than the St. Regis. We have been coming here for years and continue to be wowed with every stay. We are already looking forward to our next visit! February 22, 2013

Rated 3 out of 5 by Disappointed The facilities were wonderful but the staff was less than helpful. I was in a suite with a butler and despite 10 attempts to get the name corrected on my room number, I was referred to as Mrs. McCarthy during my stay. Seems like such a minor thing but was the source of much frustration. December 15, 2013

From the valets to the concierge to the housekeeping staff to the bartenders everyone made us feel welcome to our temporary home. Everyone was smiling and seemed truly happy to take care of us! Rated 4 out of 5 by Beautiful but service needs improvement. The hotel is beautiful but the service is in need of improvement. Overall luxurious and the staffs tries but fails in several areas. The restaurant, is fantastic and well worth the trip. Rooms and public spaces are lovely. Room service is good but not great. But a second stay is in order. January 30, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great resort, excellent location Executive suite was fabulous, the atmosphere more enjoyable than expected. I think the front desk was undermanned when we first arrived but other than that every service or assistance that was given exceeded our expectations. Beach, pool, all the property restaurants, golf...excellent. August 13, 2013
